I think this is a great way to spread The Word! This series had me captivated every step of the way of Lam's journey (through space!) to The Faith.

Captive Planet has been a guilty pleasure of mine since high school. While it could have been expanded a bit more and some of its faith analogies explored in more detail, it is nevertheless a fun, fast-paced, sci-fi adventure tale, akin to a Star Wars Han Solo standalone story. It’s a fairly simple story with Lam Laeo as the Han Solo type stand-in and a bad guy who doesn’t do much (with one major exception) to earn his evil badge except sneer at his minions a lot and bark orders. Still, having just re-read it again now at age 54, it still takes me back to when I first read it in my youth. It’s nostalgic, fun and simple, yet with layers of Christian faith analogies that make it a bit deeper read than you might expect after a surface read. This was set-up to be a series (StarQuest Books) and a sequel made it to print, which is also good. I’ll be re-reading that again next. I wish the author would revisit Lam Laeo for a third book, even all these years later. I’d buy it.
