As a Spirit Witch, seventeen-year-old Callie has magical powers that rival gods, but having control over the four elements and life itself won’t help her with her current problem: falling in love with her five supernatural best friends. Tired of stifling her feelings with a heart that refuses to choose, she’s ready to come clean about what she wants and prays to the goddess they all can love her enough to share.
Meanwhile, Felix is realizing that coming back from the dead isn’t all it’s cracked up to be when it requires living someone else’s life, Kaleb is growing distant, Nolan is acting erratic, Connor is hard at work trying to save his mate bond, and Donovan is stuck trying to save them all from themselves. It’ll be a miracle if they make it through the rest of their junior year of high school.
In this heart-wrenching, paranormal reverse harem, join Callie and her guys as they’re forced to face some hard truths about themselves and each other, the consequences of secrets, and if their bonds can survive the tests of love and deception.

Lost Spirit is a full-length novel and is written with the intent that the reader is familiar with events that occurred in the previous books of the series.
The Bound Spirit Series is a 10 book series that crosses from young adult to new adult content.
H.A. Wills has a BA in Art, specializing in digital media, but after over ten years working as a graphic designer, she could no longer ignore all the voices in her head and decided to start writing their stories down. The Southern California native dreams of far off places, but knows she’s too spoiled with all the state has to offer to ever stray too far from home. When she’s not glued to her computer, she enjoys long weekends reading and the occasional game of D&D.
In the first three books the story was plot driven. The guys and Callie meet and become friends in the first book, then Callie finds out that she is a witch and we have two books which revolve around her finding out what her magic can do. And of course rescuing Felix in the third book. Now this fourth book is a little different. In this book Callie realised that she wants all her friends, who are boys, to be her boyfriends. So a lot of the book focuses on Callie's Harem building. The one older plot which will come up here is the thing between Nolan and Gina. But it is not resolved in the fourth book. For me this fourth book was not as good as the other three books. It was still entertaining and kept me reading and wanting to find out how this all will end. Considering the ending and the epilogue of book 4 the next book will be very interesting and I expect it to be more plot driven again. Callie only has to catch one guy to form her full harem. The title was already announced as Kindred Spirit.
Tis a filler book. This book read a bit like a gap novella. Plot points created in past books were mentioned and maybe furthered but not resolved, sexy times escalated, and we visited our favorite gang coven (not usually all together though?)—but nothing really was introduced in the series.
Whereas the other three books had an overarching plot they followed—an antagonist or environmentally based hurdle to overcome—this fourth book is entirely relationship-based. There are smaller, personal goals of each (well, most) character(s), but overall the driving force of this book is Callie gathering up her harem. And tbh, there's nothing wrong with a charactre-driven plot.
But I gotta say, I don't think there's enough Callie in this one. The extra POVs in the previous book were never my favorite (because I'm a basic reader who just wants the one POV), but they were helpful in furthering things along when Callie couldn't be the POV—but this book is told 70% in the guys' POV. (That's not an official statistic—I read the paperback; I have no idea the correct percentage). But it seemed like we were jumping over Callie's experiences to focus on others. The following is a non-detailed spoiler but highlights my point: and we didn't get to see ANY of that? It's haunted her for the last three books! That's a PRIME hurt/comfort moment that could've been included easily, especially given the shorter page count in this fourth book compared to the others. Come on, Wills. You know I'm in this for the romance and the trauma. ; )
If you like the guys as main characters, this is for you! It's neat to read a RH where the guys are just as important as the FMC. (It's not really my jam, but I can see the value!)
Also, Kaleb who? All the characters are great in their own way, but Kaleb's never been in my top picks and even I felt kinda bad seeing him in only the one chapter.
This is Nolan's book, for sure.
Be forewarned in case it's not your jam (I don't find this is a spoiler since it was introduced in earlier books, but please let me know if you think I should spoiler tag hide it): there's a LOT more M/M in this book. The explicit kind, too. Even a bit dark. If you just thought it was a side thing in the last book (guilty 🙋) it's now a series main plot point. Do with that what you will.
Happy to see Wills writing again, and I love these characters. I'm hoping for a little more out of the next book, but I'm certainly sticking around for the rest of the series. This book is worth the read in the wonderful Bound Spirit saga!
I have never more obsessively stalked a book release. Well worth the wait, I read it in one sitting and I already need more.
Felix, Nolan, Donovan, Kaleb, and Connor are everything. I’m so please with where these friendships/relationships are going. Some new twists I’m excited to see play out more and some added steam—what else could I want?
Side note: why is there not more character artwork for this series???
First off, does anyone actually know when Kindred Spirit is supposed to be released?
Next, this book.was.definitely the Nolan show. There was a bit about Callie but it was mainly about the vampire and his love life and health.
I hate not knowing when a book will be released. If I had known there were more books to come, I wouldn't have started this series til it was completed. Sigh....
Things are starting to steam up with some of the relationships and there is progression on different characters’ story arcs. It felt like this book was resolving some minor plot threads from the first three books to set up bigger issues over the next few books; while establishing different dynamics in the group. Overall, it’s a fantastic book and I can’t wait to read what comes next in Callie and the guys’ journey. Great job, H.A.!!
Yusssss! This was well worth the wait. I enjoyed the heat up and the deep dive into character development. I love this series so much. Callie is amazing. I’ve been on tenterhooks waiting to find out how Felix deals with being James, and I was not disappointed. But by god that cliffhanger! Cannot wait til the next
Not the story I expected. I was really worried that this book would not hold up to my expectations. Combined with the fact that it didn't go where I thought the book would go, I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the book. Still one of my favorite series in the now times, completely unchanged by how much I adored it in the before times.
I feel like I have been waiting forever for this book and was so excited to get my hands on it. I really enjoyed reading this book but it hadn't been my favorite of the series. I felt like Kaleb was a footnote in this book and hardly had any face time at all. The overall arc of the series didn't really seem to advance much either. The cliffhanger ending was really yucky too. Hopefully it won't take another 3 years to find out what happens.
These kids keep secrets WAY too much. Makes me wanna slap sense into them. Sometimes it's hard to remember I'm reading about 16-17 year olds too. LOL! I thought they were all seniors for some reason. 🤷♀️ Poor baby Nolan! We really get to see his struggle in this one n the fallout n struggles of Felix n his new body. Kaleb becomes unraveled a bit too. Donovan n Connor are steady. Finally, Callie clarifies their relationships to her clearly!! Long time coming n there is some struggle with Kaleb n Nolan on that front. Lots of angst, pain, n struggles in this newest volume. Excited to see where things are headed.
the wait was so worth it! I really missed these characters and the book did not disappoint. the development in this book is so beautiful to see. the relationships go deeper, everyone is working on themselves and my poor baby Nolan!
from the bottom of my heart thank you H.A. Wills for not giving up, I would wait much longer for the privilege to continue to experience this story.
Okay I'm a little err right now but that's because while I loved every page of this story I want more! I felt like I blinked and was done. HA Wills, I'm going to ask that you quit your life and devote your every minute to finishing this series. (Not really, you take your time and make sure your taking care of yourself).
I have missed this series. The last story I read in it was a jump forward in an anthology where they’re all adults and settled and starting their family, and I missed the build-up. Because that is seriously the best part. Callie is slowly finding her feet with her guys, and things are heating up. This series is not waiting for them to be adults to introduce sexual content, which frankly is way more realistic, and means the entire thing doesn’t just keep dragging it out like other series I won’t mention but am still totally hooked on. You know the ones. This is mostly a harem building book without an overarching plot, and most of the guys get page time (except Kaleb. He’s a bit of a late tack on) but the story primarily focuses on Nolan, since he has some big stuff going down. The MM increases, and I’m thinking more of the guys are going to join in, because it's definitely hinting that way. It does a great job of rehashing what’s gone on previously without just info dumping everything, and the guys are all pretty distinguishable from each other without being typical stereotypes. Felix is no longer a ghost, which should have killed a large part of my enjoyment (because ghost romance amuses me to no end. Seriously, no rational reason beyond ghosts) but it just leaves so much more potential. It balanced drama with plot progression well, and while not a huge amount happened in here, I loved it an irrationally large amount. It’s got everything you could want from a YA crossover RH.
I am sooo frustrated right now... I have waited for this for what feels too long and it's gone like in a blink of an eye.. It feels too short for me.. I love this series and always kept re-reading them..
I love the attention of the boys towards Callie.. I love the care and concern towards her.. I love when they took care of her through her meltdown.. I love the dramatic scenes and heartbreaks of getting to know each of their past.. I know she finally has to grow into her role of who she's supposed to be this amazingly powerful spirit witch but I kind of miss the care towards her...
In this book she has one meltdown when she was supposed to help Nolan and she gets over it pretty fast.. Apart from the make-out session with the boys I felt that this book lacks the emotional connection between themselves.. like everyone is maturing and have their own responsibilities to focus on.. It's like they are near yet feels so far away.. I read this book separately on it's own and that's how I feel.. I didn't get the connection I get like from the past books when reading them individually.. despite this I like how the story goes so far and will be waiting for what's to come next..
That being said I'm gonna go and restart reading this series from book 1 again to this one and see if it will feel better to read it together continuously and see if it will makes a difference this time emotionally..
Ahh that danged Callie always out to protect her pack, friends and lovers!! And who the heck knew Mildred was such a bad a$$!?!? I cannot wait to see how Callie steps up to help lead the Twin Cedar coven… and gets answers if not healing for Nolan!! And can someone knock some sense into Kaleb so he can pull his head outta his rumpus!? Gah, always has to be one in the harem that goes against the grain! I cannot wait to see more of Connor and Callie’s relationship, hopefully there will be some pups at some point! And sweet Felix… I wonder which of the guys will be her first?? Connor or Felix.. it has to be one of the two! Felix was her first friend and Conner is her mate. If one of the other guys sneaks under the radar I will be sorely disappointed! As if y’all need any encouragement from me, this series is epic and while it’s a slow burn, there’s a bit of spice here and there. The storyline and development of the characters and their relationships with each other are what actually make this book such an amazing read. Off to book 5! Happy Reading Friends!
Originally read the first book in this series in August 2018 but returned March 2024 to absolutely devour books 2-4.How this author managed to continue writing this series given the absolute h3ll they went through over the last 4 years is inconceivable. (See acknowledgments at end of this book.)
Lost Spirit wrapped up some key plot points but there is still much to be done in Twin Cedar which keeps the series thriving and the reader engaged. Callie and her harem are just gaining ground and their “happy ever after” feels within reach. Or is it?
The Bound Spirit Series has become one of my favourite of this genre and I cannot wait for book 5. Complex characters, rich in backstory and in detail with humor and emotion carefully woven throughout, Bound Spirit is one of those special series that you just cannot put down. It captivated my imagination and my heart completely which is rare in a slow-burn story for me. So grateful H A Wills kept writing this series, very talented author for sure. Highly recommend!
I initially rated the first book a little low. It was well written and interesting but it had absolutely no plot. But after reading the other 3 books before this book I see that the author seems to really like making the “climax” towards the end of the book. The series has definitely gotten better after the first book. And I’m looking forward to the rest. It reads a little like a continuation more than different books in a series. Just one long book to be honest. It picks up exactly where it left off like no time passed between. So essentially the first book was just the introduction to the other books being the middle part of a book. And considering I read this will be a 10 book series I’m guess it will only go up from here.
This book is so good. I absolutely love this series. That ending though, man I want the next book now but will patiently (kinda 😜😜) wait for it. Callie still trying to find her way with the guys and wanting more than just friendship and also figuring more control with her magic. Then you have Felix who is learning how hard it can be being in a body again and living a life that wasn't yours. Nolan still dealing with the curse and Donovan is Donovan. Also, Kaleb trying to figure how to be himself with Callie and also being "Perfect Kaleb". Just an excellent series. Getting a little more steamy scenes but still slow burn which I am finding refreshing.
I just want to get one point across, and it's not really a spoiler since it happened in the end of the previous book.
I hate that Felix was put into a jock's body! And yes I admit originally I didn't love the idea of him having to be secured to another body, but I mostly got over that. But did the author have to use a jock's body? Why couldn't it have been another geek? Adorkable geeks are attractive all on their own, and Callie had no qualms with how he looked originally. I did appreciate the talk he had with Kaleb in the book, but it doesn't mend everything for me. This was a sin in my eyes.
Lost Spirit: Book Four of The Bound Spirit Series ❤️❤️🔥
❤️❤️🔥❤️❤️🔥 love this series, The wait for the next book has been hard but H.A. Wills made it more than worth it. Now I’m eagerly waiting book 5, cause I really need to know what happens next, hope the author gets better soon so I can back in this RH and Callie… definitely recommend this 📖 book / series 📚 - if your heart ❤️ can take this much love… I am eagerly waiting for the rest of the 6 books to read in this incredible series.
The author is a fab writer but I I felt like Nolan and Donovan should have had their own romance. They seemed more in love and entwined with each other than the fmc.
Spoiler!
So she's a Virgin! What's that got to do with being a selfish lover? Oh yeah I'll accept all the orgasms but nooooo I'm not ready to give a bj. Meh. She sounded like many selfish lovers I've heard friends complain about. Still I'd read all this authors books because in spite of petty annoyances, I still devour the books

I really enjoyed this book! I had been looking forward to reading it forever and it did not disappoint. I loved that we got more POVs from the guys than we did from Callie. It really helped to see where their heads are at when it came to their feelings for Callie. So much has happened in the first three books and this one really helped tie up some loose ends so their story can move forward. I cannot wait to see what happens next!!
I have huge fodness to this type of series where we can see characters of the story grow to be the best versions of themselves. Overcomming trauma and building trust with friends and future lovers.
The only bad thing I can say about this series is that, well I didn't realize it's going to be 10 books which I'm exited about but hate waiting ... Also... That cliffhanger really?? 3 books didn't have one and now BOOM mighty cliffhanger...
I’m in love with these book and was so happy to finally read this one and I was not disappointed. First so happy for Felix even tho it is a struggle. Callie is amazing as always love how open minded and strong she is. The love she has for the guys is just so sweet. And poor Nolan. Can’t wait to ready more of this group
This book hit so many highs for me. It's well written. It kept me turning pages. The Donovan and Nolan scenes were straight fire. My only issue is that nothing was resolved. I'm hoping we see a resolution for some of the issues they are having in the next book. Callie becoming more sure of her self was my favorite part. I need more! Happy Reading y'all 📚 😊
I was able to get into the story more in this sequel, which I was very appreciative of. Maybe it's because some progress was finally made towards justice against Gina, or the pack settling, or one of the million other key elements that finally have some drive behind them. The miscommunication between everyone is still very present, but it was still a much easier read.
This series is just so good !! I did get a bit fed up with our boy Nolan in this one but he came good in the end. All of the relationships are developing at their own pace and non feel like they are being sped up to meet the others. Along with that the story lines running throughout the series are interesting and knew and stay away from the usual. I love this series!
