The betrothal is bad. Prince Saber regrets agreeing to an arranged marriage the moment he says yes. His bride is a dull aristocratic lady who he'll be bound to for the rest of his life. No fated mate. No adventure. No love. So when he's given an off planet mission he accepts it in a heartbeat. He can't escape the betrothal, but he can delay it.
The ship crash? That's a disaster. Lady Mirage needs to talk to her betrothed. Alone. What better place than a space ship? But he's not supposed to take off before he realizes she's on board. When she and her betrothed crash land on a barren planet, they'll need to rely on each other to survive. But that's not the only trouble. There's a dangerous fugitive on the planet with them ready to attack.
Mirage is tougher than she looks, and it's not long before she and Saber are finding they fit together in more ways than one. But she has a secret. A big one. Will he still want her when he finds out the truth?
Saber and Mirage I was completely captivated from page one and couldn't put the book down. It is well written. The characters are both dynamic and engaging. The story line was great though would have liked to see a bit more of Mirages family. All in all very good book. I have now read the 3 books in this series so far and thoroughly enjoyed all 3. Thank you Ms Rudolph you took me on a journey. I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this advance reader copy and was not compensated in any way.
Listened to this one immediately following book 2 … so I sort of devoured 3 books in one sitting. They were great companions on a morning walk, and while I worked and performed some household tasks.
Here’s what all 3 have in common:
-Super sweet heroes -Left me wanting to see more of the world -Steamy scenes, fairly hot though much like so many others I’ve read/heard. -Relatable characters
This installment included some villainous parents which added a bit of fun, but I felt this was pretty glazed-over.
Overall, fun listens to work / exercise to and I’d gladly read more from this author.
3.5 stars.
Audio- Not bad, once I adjusted the speed to 3.0. The narrator’s voice was pleasant enough, though he does speak extremely slowly.
The youngest dragon prince, Saber, is told by his father he is betrothed to Lady Mirage. At least one of his sons will have a true lady Dragon to carry the line, not humans like his other two sons! Saber takes a walk & debates going to the royal matchmaker, like his brothers did. He goes to her office & she invites him in. What she tells him doesn't give him much to work with. He leaves, & just wants to fly, have a little privacy. He sees a shadow above him. He sees a playful red dragon flying over him. She shoots a flame at him in greeting, she challenges him to a race. She impresses him with her flips & turns, she is a very skilled flier. They have a lot of fun, but an hour later she heads east & disappears. He wishes he knew who she was, he would like to fly like that again. Saber goes through the movements wishing he could have found his mate like his brothers. He is very formal & not to talkative when they get together for tea or other gatherings. Lady Mirage, isn't too thrilled either, her mother is happy about the match. She is always setting the rules, telling Mirage what to say & how to act. The thing is, Mirage is only half Dragon. She & her mother's secret, which her mother has been holding over her head for as long as she can remember. So, she has to wear extra make up, be very careful how she expresses herself & acts. Her mother has worked hard to set this up, she mustn't ruin it. Even if he does seem a little to stiff. He hardly talks to her, and when they do get a chance to be together, her mother is always there so she can hear everything. It is hard to be herself when someone who thinks everything you do is wrong is always there. One afternoon after about a month the King informs Saber he is to go to where the search for the slaver, Boar is being carried out. Maybe it will help get the investigators moving if they knew the King had someone there to keep an eye on things. Saber jumps at the chance, maybe if he caught Boar, his father would see him in a better light. Boar is the slaver that captured his brother, Ranger. He has to go get a space craft before goes to tea with Lady Mirage. He gets all the information he can on Boar. He goes to secure his ship, the goes to Mirages house to the afternoon tea. They chat for a little bit, it warms up when she asks if likes to fly. He says yes, she asks where he likes to go. She tells him she likes to fly to get away. It doesn't last long. He leaves, but she gets around her mother to go outside. She leaps into the air & follows him, she needs to talk to him. Without an audience, so she trails him. To a spaceship, is he going somewhere? No matter, she has to talk to him. Saber checks for stowaways & all the routine safety checks he has to do before taking off. Mirage manages to get onboard & is about to knock on the cockpit door when the door closes & they take off. Her mother is going to kill her! Saber sees her & when she demands he turn around & take her home, he refuses. He tells her he is on a mission, to get the slaver, Boar. Then he sees a Solar storm coming on, he sends a distress call home, as everything is about go crazy on his ship, he makes an emergency landing. The planet is beautiful, but only campers who like to push themselves like to stay here. There are a few ranger stations but that is all. When they land, he gets some things together, food, water, med-kit, a blanket, & some other things. He makes 2 packs for them to carry. She would rather stay with the ship until they send someone for them. He says they are going to find the ranger stations, he isn't too sure the distress call went through & doesn't know how long the solar storm will last. She is not happy, but they go. They find a place to camp. It is a beautiful place, she is thrilled. He talks about going to find them something to eat. She says she can hunt just as good as he can, they should go together. Very well, they can but he could probably do it better on his own. She jumps into the air, & he sees the playful red dragon he had been flying with a month ago! That's a shocker! He springs up to join her & to her wonder the mystery dragon she had been playing with a moth ago appears! Prince Saber? He is the dragon she had been wishing to have a name for? Amazing! They have a lot of fun for several days & finally a few nights too. They come back one afternoon to find their camp messed up. They spot a shoe print. Saber is sure it is Boar. They search everything, & find 2 trackers. Saber knows it's time to get Boar or try to signal home again. Play time is over. He no longer worries about a mate, he is happy with Mirage. He tries to use the tech to signal, but it seems to need to be higher & a boost of power to do it. She says she will fly it up while he boosts the power & gives the signal. He is uneasy but she informs him that is the best way to go. They finally agree, she takes the beacon & flies high, until there is almost no air. She circles until she has to come down. As she is descending she sees Boar creeping up on Saber with laser rifle. She shrieks to let him know & Saber sees her go into a fast warrior's dive at something behind him. As she is close to the ground he sees a laser shot fired at her & she goes into her human form out cold. When he runs to her all he sees are drag marks. He is going to kill Boar, painfully! When she wakes up, her hands are tied behind her back & she tries to use her fire, to no avail. Boar kicks her in the stomach & tells her he has given her something that will not allow her to use her fire. He didn't expect it to knock her out. He kicks her a few more times. She manages to get her claws out & cut the vines he tied her with. She doesn't let him know she is loose. Saber finds them, & Boar is going to shoot her. Saber is going to try to use his fire but Mirage is able to harness his power & use it to kill Boar when he is about to fire. Both are shocked! His mate! After Saber takes pictures for proof, they go back to camp. Mirage tells him her secret. He has a right to know. She is only half dragon. He doesn't care, She is his mate. If she doesn't want to tell anyone, fine, if she does, that's fine too. They get a call from Prince Crux, his ship is in orbit & a shuttle is on the way to pick them up. He let's Saber know, he really started something this time. They board & go home. The king is happy about Boar but more info has been brought in about Lady Mirage's family. The girl is inappropriate. Sabre doesn't care, she is his mate & he love her. He tells the king goodbye & walks out. Mirage walks into an empty house, wondering where everyone is. Her mother is in the terrarium when she goes in, very unhappy & ready to let her know it. She starts in on her, about everything going on & accuses her of letting her secret about being half dragon out. Mirage says she told him, & he doesn't care. She tells her to just wait until he gets tired of his newest plaything & goes to the next! Mirage doesn't bother telling her about being his mate. She has faith in him. She is tired of hearing it, she is about to leave when Sabre comes for her. They both go into Dragon form & race to the falls. He then shows her his sanctuary, a cabin in the mountains where they stay for a while. A month later all three couples are at one of Ranger's estates celebrating. The King is taking a month long tour around the country. The Princes hear a lot of shrieks & noise around the front & run to see if their mates are in trouble. They see them in a pile, Sidney is rubbing her knee wearing boots with wheels on them. Both Sidney & Mirage are discussing getting a pair made for them. Their mates don't think it a good idea. Sabre decides it is time to go home. I love it!
This book was amazing I loved the storyline and the characters and about how they make do with what has been arranged. Prince Saber is the last sibling to get married and it all been arranged for him and not seeing any other options from his father the King he agrees and so the courting begins and when he meets his betrothed Lady Mirage he finds her boring but at least she is beautiful to look at and now wonders if he can go through with marriage because Saber has always dreamed of finding his mate like his brother’s before him. Lady Mirage has a family secret she must keep at all costs and now her mother and the King have arranged a marriage between Prince Saber and herself and she is hopeful that he is what she wants in a husband. At there first meeting is doesn’t go so well, the Prince looks like he is about to run and with her mother watching from afar just makes it worse because Mirage cannot relax and this seems to happen each time they come together and at the last one Mirage decides to follow and confront the prince but it looks like he is leaving on his spaceship so she must hurry to catch him before he leaves and goes inside to search for him but suddenly the doors close and he is taking off with her inside. To say the Prince is shocked to find his betrothed on aboard is an understatement and that she demands to be taken back home and has this fiery temper has Saber wondering if this is the real woman he is seeing. He tells her he is on a mission for his father and cannot go back so she settles in with no other choice. So they are pull into a media Storm and crash land on the very planet he is seeking to find the human man Boar who captured his brother and is a slave trader. But now he must keep Mirage safe and and track Boar as well but what he never expected was how strong and feisty she was and with her guard down she might just be perfect for him this gets his attention. Mirage likes this man before her he is strong, protective and so sexy maybe being together like this without any watchful eyes can bring them together in more ways than one. Spending the night together is magical for them both and for what the future holds but when Mirage is kidnapped by Boar he realises she is his mate and must save her and kill the human that has taken his mate. Mirage is coming around after she is taken by this evil man and wonders when her mate will save her. Can Saber save his mate in time and does he kill the man that has her and are they saved, to find out what happens between them all you’ll have to get this book. Excellent read.
Saber isn't the typical Prince. He has no time for tact, diplomacy, or the drama of Court. But his father demands he takes a Mate, an arranged one and Saber is in no place to say no. Lady Mirage is everything a courtly female should be - but their dates are ...tedious. Saber wants to be off investigating the slavery claims and looking into who kidnapped his brother. So one all the marriage talk gets too much, he sets off on a simple mission - with the addition of one passenger he didn't expect!
Mirage is sick of being the female her mother thinks she should be. She loves flying, living on the edge - but with her arranged marriage in the works, it looks like her adventurous days are over. But sneaking onboard a shuttle to speak with Saber has left her in a world of trouble!
The adventure of a lifetime is just what these two needed! Away from the court, they realise that being with each other may not be the life of boredom and mediocrity they thought it would be! Mommy Dearest has some big secrets to hide and she's misdirected her own shame onto Mirage and the King? Well, I'd really like to slap him if I'm honest - hopefully, Crux will take over and their world will get a little more modernised!
This is another wonderful addition to the series, thoroughly enjoyed this book Prince Saber is hastily regretting the fact that he agreed to simply marry a bride he has not even seen and that is to marry a very dull, extremely pompous aristocrat who appears to believe she is better than anyone else walking the planet. He is not able to stop the betrothal however he can delay it as much as possible by finding other thing to occupy his time, however he had not anticipated crashing onto an barren and unexplored planet, unfortunately he had not known she was equally determined and had secreted herself on the same ship and was jointly marooned with her intended. Now they have nothing but time to talk and to try and find ways to survive by finding food, water, and simply continuing to breath. This was a wonderful read with plenty of twists and turns and ups and downs….. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Saber is a Prince and has agreed to an arranged marriage. He has met his betrothed and is regretting his decision. Lady Mirage his bride is dull and aristocratic, Saber will be bound to her for the rest of his life. Saber is leaving on a mission but he is unaware Lady Mirage boarded his ship so she could speak with him away from her overbearing mother. Things get dicey when they crash land on a barren planet and they must work together to survive. Lady Mirage is a different person away from her mother and as they spend more time together Saber realizes she is his fated mate but now they are both in danger from a fugitive ready to attack at any moment. Will Saber and Lady Mirage survive the attacks, will they be able to get off the planet to safety? I loved this book and the series, there are a few twists and turns as well as a huge secret Lady Mirage has been keeping most of her life. This is a must read!
Prince Saber, the family screw-up, is ordered by his father the king to marry Lady Mirage. BORING! Meanwhile Mirage's social climber mother orders her to cooperate with the arrangement. BORING! The IGDA matchmaker's psychic advice is unhelpful. Their dates are worse. Then an accidental, inadvertent kidnapping leaves the two miserable mates-to-be aboard a spaceship bound for Trouble. On the way, they discover that maybe neither is the boring blando the other believes he/she was... Flames and other heated exchanges take place... By the time they find Trouble, Team Dragon Mates has a united goal - get home, tell King Daddy and Momma Bitch the marriage is a go, and they are outta there and on to HEA. Gotta love it when the underdog - er, dragon - wins!
Loved it. author nailed the vibe between saber and mirage both mistrustful, both not wanting this arranged marriage and both hiding who they really were inside when meeting. great plot idea and it was delivered with spunk, fun, adventure, drama, and excitement. held my interest all the way thru and had me cheering that these two would find their way together. Mirage is all fiesty spunky and fiery inside but has to pretend to be cold and precise. Saber is very hurt, being abused by his father the king who never fails to let him know he is a disappointment and worthless. Then you have them both caught up in an offworld adventure and pow the real character of both shines thru. and the ending was perfect.
I received an arc copy of this book and this is my honest voluntary review.
Saber's story is my favorite so far. Saber is on a mission to bring back the human Boar who kidnapped his brother Ranger. Prince Saber is betrothed to Lady Mirage and he is thinking his life after marriage will be dull and boring. Then, Mirage stows aboard the Saber's ship not knowing he is taking off. After they crash on an unoccupied planet, things get really steamy as they learn so much about each other. Both are thinking the arranged marriage might work out for them. But, Mirage has a secret and she is taken down by Boar while Saber and her were flying. What happens next is a great and unexpected romance between them with a happy ending.
Saber is a dragon shifter prince, the youngest and disrespected son of the king. He seeks to make his father proud of him. Lady Mirage is a dragon/human half breed who has been forced to hide her human heritage. Both agree to an arranged marriage but don't expect much from the union.
When their spaceship crashes and they are forced to fend for themselves, they find love and redemption.
Saber is a light, fast paced sci-fi romance read. The beginning hooked me right away. Saber has some steamy sex scenes, but the overall tone is sweet. It can definitely be read as a standalone.
Mirage and Saber agree to an arranged marriage, though both wish for a mate. Saber thinks to delay the marriage by going on a mission, only to find Mirage has accidentally stowaway on his ship. The storyline is entertaining and the interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book 📚, as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This is the 3rd book in this sci-fi series but it can be read as a standalone. Prince Saber is ordered to my Lady Mirage who he finds boring. When they are kidnapped and headed for Trouble, sparks begin to fly as they spend more time together. Can they work together to escape? Fast-paced read with plenty of action, drama and steam. Great characters with a fast-paced and entertaining story. I liked it.
This was such a fun read and I loved the vibe that had our couple each thinking the other was boring and/or snobby. Of course, nothing goes smoothly for these two, from parents to private chat time to crashing on a planet. Working together, though, they find that maybe they were wrong about each other and the chemistry sparks between them ;D Well written, this story is fast paced and highly entertaining.
Saber is the youngest dragon prince sent on a mission by the King. What he doesn’t realize is that his betrothed has stowed away on his spaceship. A crash on an empty planet forces the two to work together and love grows between them. But Mirage is keeping a secret that could destroy the happiness they found. It was a sweet, sexy book and I enjoyed it as much as the books about the other princes.
I was wondering about the King the first time I heard about him from Crux and then Rage, and reading Saber, now I know.
Anyways, Saber got his wish and more, and finally he was free from the "tyranny" of his father. And so was she. Thinking that all the princes has mated humans or a half-dragon against the King's wishes made me laugh with glee.
This 3rd book in this series was another great book. The way that 2 dragons meet without knowing who the other one is was very well written. The trouble that follows them just makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. A space ship crash landing on a basically empty planet. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

The heroine might be demure around her mother, but when she’s upset, watch out, the feisty come out strong. The hero is on a dangerous mission to impress his unimpressed father. What happens next is a tale of danger, love, acceptance and revenge.
This was tough. It started okay, but tended to drag and I had a hard time maintaining focus on the story. I toughed it out and enjoyed when things finally started to pick up speed.
The ending was a lot better than book 1 and 2. Sex scenes were ok. I really liked the story, although some inconsistencies puzzled me. They were on a planet where only the most hardened warrior could survive, but they had a wonderful time on it, with beautiful nature?

Youngest dragon prince agrees to an arranged marriage. Then his betrothed accidentally ends up on the ship he is piloting to find the slaver that tried to sell his brother. They crash land and ....
