I always get what I want. And I get it without a fuss.
My life consists of rigid structure. I work my job, I stay clean in every sense.
Remove the pests who darken our society.
Dress, assassinate, resonate.

Celebrate with platinum and champagne.
Rinse & repeat. As an assassin with a knife fetish and a penchant for wearing white, that’s not anywhere as easy as it sounds.
Until a long-haired Aussie surfer walks into my happy little bubble and pops my sand-covered cherry with his personal brand of uncouth. Who just happens to be a spy.
Who just happens to have a brilliant mind.
Who just happens to be sexy as sin. And that’s my department. I can’t fall for a man who plays for the other team.
…Right?

PRIDE is a femme fatale novel set in the stunning Sisters of Sin world.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Trigger warnings: child trafficking, child abuse, rape, sexual assault, violence against women, murders, assassinations

This was a short novella. With many ups and downs, and sideways too.

For one thing it focuses on serious topics..which I've already mentioned above. And we've got a female james bond swinging around like she's tarzan but in a classy suit, weapons, and of course her makeup set, solving crimes like they're simple jigsaw pieces.

And then we have the likely hero but unlikely for her - a police officer - specialist - but still. Both are fighting the same side but with different methods.

Of course the officer gets infatuated with her...and well they get caught up in their own affair soon.

And well you know how that goes...but with A HEA instead.

Things I tolerated but wish were explored: reasonable action, a lot of steamy chemistry, character development was lacking, romance wasn’t explored enough - felt the characters often chose sex over their careers, last minute plot twists didn’t make sense at times. Side characters were okay - just wish they were introduced more.

Overall a reasonable but lacking in proper exploration of some elements novel.

So yeah there ya go.

Good news: Jealousy is up next coming in september/october. So hopefully that one will be better.

Until the next read,

I really enjoyed the overall storyline to this book, it was engaging, face paced and had some potentially great characters. However, I think the book was too short to do the story justice.
The first half of the book felt like it was missing more, but the second half as the story took off was good.
Catherine is a assassin, belonging to a secret team of females. I would have loved more background on this group, we find out how Catherine ended up with them, but not much on the group and how it all works. I know this is part of a series of standalones so I'm unsure if this information is given in another book within the series as I haven't read any others.
Wyatt was a spy/spook but he felt and acted like a police officer, he was investigating and potentially arresting which is not what I understand a spy to be. At first there was a lack of information about what he was doing and why, but he was investigating Catherine which is how they come to meet.
The relationship between these two was fast and almost instant, definitely an opposites attract, but I just didn't feel like these two connected on this level at first - I could see them falling for each other at some point but maybe not quite as fast as they actually did. Both seemed to act quite lax sometimes, with each other and their work which was surprising considering their careers.
I enjoyed the way the story unfolded and played out.

This book is part of Sofia Aves "Sisters of Sin" series.
It took me a while to get into this book but I knew that being written by Sofia Aves it wouldn't take long to explode.
Catherine Levante was a stunningly beautiful assassin, she was also a perfectionist, her victims died cleanly, her blades were craftsman made, she left no splatter.....Catherine was an assassin with a difference.
Wyatt Braxton was a spy working for ASIO, he was a loner since the death of his partner for which he blamed his co worker, Ian McNallen, he didn't trust him.
Wyatt's mission was to locate and apprehend a killer, that killer was the beautiful blonde known as Pride.........Catherine Levante.
As this story unfolds it becomes evident that Catherine and Wyatt have similar aims with different ways of achieving them, there is a magnetic attraction between them from the start that soon becomes explosive.
This book is action packed with an escalating body count, the story also covers some aspects that may cause triggers to some people.
This is a great book with likeable characters and of course a steaming romance.

Wyatt is working for the ASIO looking for the culprits running a child pornography ring and when he is in one of the tacky casinos that look as if they needed remodeling he was pretending to be drunk when he sees a beautiful woman in a white jumpsuit and she catches his eye and goes in a door.
Catherine has an unusual job but she takes it very seriously and she has a job to do she gets it done and makes sure to never get dirty while doing so she is looking for the men running the heinous organization and she is doing everything that she can to get the head of the snake with no luck. Seems she is Wyatt's mark, thinking she will lead him to them. Wyatt is concerned with her career. Acton pack adventure, drama, suspense, danger, romance, and love. I read a copy via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.

Wyatt is out looking for those responsible for distributing minor pornography and winds up in a casino, pretending to act drunk in order to scope it out. Here he sees Catherine and he seems to have caught her eye as well. Catherine had a slightly unusual job, and has been trying to take down the head of a crime organization with no luck. Maybe her luck has finally shifted when she meets Wyatt.

This was an interesting book and had a great start to what could have been an incredible story. The book was too short for this type of story, however. There was a lot of information that we needed to understand some parts that we didn't get. If the book was a little longer, this would have been 5 stars.

Pride: Sisters of Sin: a Femme Fatale Series
Sofia Aves
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Catherine is an assassin and a damn good one. She is clean and efficient, with an unusual enjoyment in her chosen career. Wyatt works for the ASIO, currently investigating a child pornography ring. Their relationship develops as the book takes the reader on a swift, fast-paced ride.

Pride is a gripping read encompassing the author's eloquent writing style. However, I was unsure whether this was part of a series or a standalone and felt as if I had missed some information pertaining to the relationship between the characters.
Sofia Aves has, once again, honed her unique writing style in this book. Lovers of this author will not be disappointed.

This was an ARC read for me. It is a fun snarky read full of twists and turns with fun likeable characters. Catherine, also known as Pride, is an assassin with a conscious. Wyatt is a member of a law enforcement agency in Australis. Wyatt's job is to find and arrest Catherine but that's not going to happen. These two have such a strong physical connection and how they resolve their jobs and attraction is really instresting. Also the back story keeps you going

Caroline was saved from a life of prostitution and then trained as an assassin. She is now known as the Sin of Pride, and her job is to take out the predators who prey on children. Wyatt works for the Australian Security Intelligence Organization. Taking down Pride is his job. This story has action, romance, and steam, ending in a type of HEA. Very highly recommended.

This was a really great read, that I enjoyed from beginning to end. It moves along at a speed which made for an easy and enjoyable read. The characters are awesome and you will find yourself loving them from the moment that you meet them. This book needs to be read and on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it.

A story about two crazy, interesting people who, at first, are supposed to chase each other but end up getting involved, and trying to protect each other and themselves against some of the people they've been working for a long while.

I've received an ARC of this e-book from the author, and all the opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Check CW and TW. I love me a book where the FMC is a total boss and that’s what Catherine is. These group of women that seek out justice is chef’s kiss. And Wyatt oh Wyatt the way that man handled himself was hot.

A Thrill a Minute in This Romantic Thriller!

Loved this snarky, feisty heroine and all her flaws in this fast-paced thriller full of twists and turns in this steamy romance. Loved Wyatt and Catherine's challenge: What do you do when you're the mark of the one you love?
