A continuation from the first book, The Wager. Abigail and Ross have been married for three years and are now expecting their first child. Then something utterly horrific happens to Abigail. The couple persevere, and finally get their HEA which is a richly rewarding one!
Quite a bit slower in pace than the first book, and it didn’t hold my attention nearly as much. It felt gloomy for much of the story. First person POV continues for most of the very short chapters which is great. Wish there had been some interesting plot twists like in the first book. Writing excellent, story was ok. Do read if you want to continue with Ross and Abigail’s love story!!
