Despite the fact that she is a romance writer, Samantha Christy's favorite television show of all time is The Walking Dead.

And contrary to the fact that her heroines drink things like wine and Cosmos, she prefers Bud Light.

She also loves fan mail and answers all of it.

She went to college and all that, getting a degree in something she never uses. She's also got a gaggle of kids (4) and a pretty decent husband.

Serenity and Chaz fell in love as young teenagers and just knew they would be together forever. They shared their first everythings with each other and after Chaz proposed to Serenity (Ren) she began to dream of their future together - buying a first home and raising a family. However, this was not their reality after Chaz tragically lost his life hiking with his twin brother.

The only way Ren could cope was to leave town and move to Alaska. The brothers’ were identical twins and there was no way she could handle seeing Cooper while she was grieving the loss of Chaz. Four years later, Ren needs to come home when her dad is unwell and needs help with the bar he owns. I guess it’s time to face up to some fears and really, how often could she bump into Cooper?

Cooper has recently begun working at Ren’s dads bar. He is back home and laying down some roots after being away for so long on his adventures. He is a popular adventure sport enthusiast with a big online following. He recently came close to losing his own life and is recovering from his injuries so is happy to be back in his hometown and being around his family. The last person he expected to walk into the bar was Ren.

Seeing Cooper is very confronting for Ren. He is the mirror image of Chaz and it stirs up so many memories of him and their life together. She needs to focus on helping her dad out and try to get along with Cooper the best she can. Cooper feels quite conflicted about seeing Ren again. On the one hand it reminds him of the loss of Chaz and then there are also the feelings he had for her as a teenager that have decided to return again.

When Cooper gets some surprising news that will completely change his life, Ren is there to offer as much help and support as she can. As the feelings between them grow, they can see how a future of happiness together could be possible. They just need to trust in what is happening and let go of the past.

Really enjoyed this second chance at love story.

What a waste of time.

This book started off good and it went downhill.

Things I hate about this book

1. Why introduce us to the female heroine and at the same damn time telling us that she couldn’t tell the brothers apart that sometimes when she see the other twin (Cooper) she feels a connection with him🤦🏾

2. Why did Cooper start have treacherous feelings so soon like few days after rekindling with your so called twin fiancée 🚩

3. Why have sex in the grave site you created to cheerish your brother memory by the way the sex scene could have happened any other time…Is it just me or was the sex 🫤 I didn’t feel the connections between them. I have read 1 or 2 books from this author and the connections and build up to her intimate part of a book are fairly good. This was bad. And again it was on Cooper and Chaz birthday…Good way to celebrate your birthday just screw your brothers fiancée. I give the twin brother of the year to Cooper Calloway 👏🏽

4. Just to prolong the book Samantha Christy decided to paint the twin brother Chaz as a the villain in the book just why? She was building the whole villain vibe from when Cooper had that flash back that Chaz asked him to switch place and present something in his place when they were in high school and Cooper received a kiss from Serenity(Ren) in place of the Chaz and come to find out Ren knew it was Cooper she kissed but decided not to tell her so called love of her life cause she felt something when she kissed him 🙄

5. From the onset when Tilly mentioned a letter or when he found out he had a kid I knew it will all lead to Chaz being the father of Cody not Cooper. How dare Cooper call his brother a cheating bastard when you are fucking and playing house with his fiancée. It didn’t sit well with me.

6. Off the topic but What’s up with the McQuaid brothers all acting like high schoolers and bullies. Felt like I was reading about a high school book when most the characters were were in age 21 and above. One of McQuaid brothers is supposedly a doctor and he was acting like a douche.

7. You want to tell me Cooper was in a cast almost 90% of the book and he could do all that wow just wow 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 and all this event happened in 6 weeks.

8. Why not tell the kid when he is all grown up when he can process a lot of things. Why now? Why confuse him? He flipping 5 or 6 years old. And what so stupid is that, part of the reason Cooper was delaying telling the kid is because of Ren cause he assumed she won’t take the confession that her ultimate love of her life that she was mourning for over 4 years cheated on her. Like common if she can fuck Cooper of course she can get over it.

9. Samantha Christy achieved her goal of making Chaz the evil twin so it can justify why Cooper can fall in love and live happily ever after with Ren. To Ren he was unfaithful and his brother even called him a bastard and fool for cheating on Ren. Don’t get me wrong, it was bad that Chaz did all this but let’s not forget Cooper was his twin and they were in good terms before he died, they did everything together it’s not like he killed someone and hid the body for years. He didn’t deserve to be painted this bad after death. The author could’ve taken the direction of this book to another way but she had to follow the same recipe as all other books written in this trope.

I knew Cooper’s story would be an emotional and it was in so many ways. Cooper is dealing with guilt over the loss of his twin brother, Chaz. Its been years since the accident and he was there with his brother when it all happened. Serenity left town after losing Chaz, the pain was too much for her and having Cooper around didn’t make it any easier.

Cooper and Serenity are both back in town and both of them are forced to work together. The two of them do have chemistry and have a connection. Cooper has also had feelings for Serenity for years, but she was his brothers and completely off limits.

Cooper, I felt for him. Especially after learning everything that truly happened on the mountain. Him learning to overcome his guilt and the pain. It is beautiful and so emotional. Serenity is there for him though. The two of them can lean on each other to heal.

If you’re looking for a small town, forbidden, friends to lovers romance this is one to check out.

Untaken Twin will own your heart and soul. I loved this one so much. I could not get enough of this one. This will be one you will not want to put down. Cooper is lost and trying to run from the guilt of being the surviving twin. He is adventurous and has had a thing for his twins girl forever. Serenity is running from her great heartache. She never envisioned her life without Chaz. Facing reality as she is forced to come home again is not as easy as it seems. There is this chemistry between Serenity and Cooper that burns so hot as they battle the pull. Cooper will own your heart as he comes to terms with what happened that day on the mountain. There are a few twists and truths that come to light that will pull on the heartstrings. Cooper and Serenity are fantastic together as they go through all the stages and start healing. This one will own you. Cooper and Serenity are everything and then some. This is my favorite Calloway Brothers book yet. I cannot wait for Addy's, the Calloway sister, book next. Go one click this book and the whole Calloway Brothers series if you haven't already read them now.

I thought this book was so heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Ren is hurting when her fiancé dies, and she runs off to Alaska because she couldn’t stay home and see him everywhere she goes or see him in his twin brother Cooper. Cooper blames himself for Chaz’s death and runs death-defying missions to escape from his memories. When Ren and Cooper end up in their hometown for different reasons, they eventually find peace until something from the past comes back to throw a kink into their future. I admit that I cried buckets with this story, and yet, find it so uplifting that the characters had so much love and support. This was truly a book that had me captivated from beginning to end.

I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest review.

You will want to hold on to the bar, for this book is a rollercoaster of emotions. Your heart will take a beating, but it does work out in the end. Cooper and Serenity have a past, but not what you think, as Serenity was his brother’s girl. I loved the journey these two took to find happiness and work through the guilt to find forgiveness. Along the way, secrets are discovered, twists I did not expect, and tears are shed.

Some questions are answered from the two books before this one, but more are raised. This book will stand alone, but this reader recommends reading them in order.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Oh my goodness me!
This is Samantha Christy at her best. Just brilliant.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect with this book. I worried it might be very heavy given the subject matter in the blurb. And don’t get me wrong, parts of the book are emotional- particularly early on. Grieving the loss of a parent when very young, the loss of a sibling and the loss of a partner are all big topics in this book and should definitely be considered as trigger warnings if these may affect you.
But this book also has a great storyline around that grief that will really grip you.

Serenity’s mother died when she was a baby and she was raised by her single dad. She met Chaz and they fell in love as teenagers, getting engaged young. Chaz passed away before they were married. Serenity ran away to Alaska, away from all her memories of Chaz. His twin brother Cooper ran too, and hasn’t seen Serenity since, but they both find themselves back in town and forced to work together.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers so won’t say any more except your jaw will drop a couple of times at the twists and turns in this story! I wanted to keep picking it up and reading more, it grasped me fairly early on and I was excited to keep reading. Would definitely recommend but do check those triggers.

Thank you to Samantha and Grey’s promotions for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

The book was good.

The weeks of time skips weren't my favorite, nor how she hooked up with someone and was suddenly over her grief. Besides all of that, this was a sweet story with characters I enjoyed reading about.

Ren thought she had her life all planned out especially when it came to Chaz, the man she loved with everything she had. A tragic accident took him away and rather than gathering comfort from those who loved her the most she had to escape as she was drowning under the memories of what could have been. The only reason she has returned to her hometown is because her father needed her as she knows that facing the man who looks like her beloved will open up all the wounds that have never healed.

Cooper was devastated by the loss of his twin brother and the withdrawal of Ren from his life. It has left a gaping hole and the only way to numb that pain is by partaking in adventurous activities until an injury brings him home. They now found themselves working together at the bar where they help each over overcome the devastating past they share or create a divide that neither will recover from.

I adored both Ren and Cooper as they are both struggling and try to handle it in different ways. They take us on a heartbreaking and inspiring journey as they have so much to overcome both from the past and the challenges in the present as they realize that that there is so much more to life than the way they have been living it.

Cooper is an adrenaline junkie who takes a lot of chances with his life, but it's because he's running from the guilt that plagues him after his twin died as he feels it should have been him. That alone should tell you that this story is going to be so emotional, and seriously, it really was. Serenity is also on the run from that untimely death, but there's more to it. See, Cooper is the identical twin of Serenity's late fiance, so she can't even be in the same neck of the woods since seeing Cooper's face keeps that wound from closing up & the grief is so bad. Cooper not only lost his twin, but he lost Serenity, his best friend so no one is really moving on. Things take a turn when Serenity comes home finally, and maybe just maybe these two can heal together, however the suffocating pain will make it a very bumpy ride. I don't want to say anything else since it's just best to go in blind, but have your tissue ready because you will need it! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The story of Cooper and Serenity definitely was a roller coaster of emotions. Not only the characters felt confused, torn and sad. I totally felt it with them. The romance between Cooper and Serenity sure was intense to read. I loved reading the story through both point of views, but I definitely preferred Cooper’s story. He was this broken, but kind and very loveable guy. Getting to know him sure was fun.

Although I truly enjoyed ‘Untaken Twin’, it honestly was my least favorite of the three. I just felt a bit confused about Serenity falling for the identical twin brother of her dead fiancé. And the major twists near the end, made it all the bit more confusing for me. I just didn’t really liked those two major twists.

But the setting of Calloway Creek sure was very enjoyable. As was reading little bits about the previous characters in the series. And I definitely can’t wait to read more books by this author. Especially the story of the Calloway sister.

“Don’t you get it? I can’t look at you. I can’t listen to you. I can’t even smell you.”

Cooper and Serenity have suffered so much loss and heartache they cannot even be around each other without painful memories surfacing. Somehow they find comfort in each other. What a typical story with a typical outcome that would be. Thank goodness Samantha Christy does not write typical stories. The twist and turns and even more heartache with a surprise character who will grab your heart and twist it inside out will have you grabbing tissues for sure.

At times i felt like i was pushing myself through it… i was a little bored at times.

Although the plot didn’t go as i expected i felt like the point of them been forbidden and the story of them two was lost and overtaken when his ‘son’ appeared .

Could well be wrong read at wrong time!

heartbreakingly beautiful ❤️💔❤️

Well the last of the Calloway brothers to get their book, and what a book it was. Samantha is one of my go to authors, I’ll read without having read any blurb, purposely don’t read the teasers as I like to go in blind, no preconceived ideas! Samantha never disappoints! I return to her books for a reread or listen time and time again. This is Samantha Christy at her best.

I absolutely loved Cooper and Rens story. It’s heartbreaking and oh so beautiful at the same time. Big twist in this one. I was bang on with it too. It was a good one.

Samantha did the characters justice, we are aware that there are struggles for both Cooper and Ren from both previous books, however not to the extents they actually are controlled and lost by the events of their past.

This is so much about the closure they both need and the acceptance to move on, both being very hard.

However as we expect from Samantha’s, unexpected events are thrown in the path of both Cooper and Ren to overcome just to further complicate their predicament.

Samantha captured the emotions well in this one.

It’s a fabulous read, and that bonus Epilogue was just the icing on the cake.

Bring on the McQuaid Brothers. I’m so excited for Hawks book.

Cooper's been on a path filled with survivor's guilt ever since his twin Chaz died. His love for extreme adventure has taken him all over, with each thing more daring than the last, helping him outrun his pain. But when his latest adventure ends with a broken arm, he has to go home and face his brothers, and as he finds out, his brother's fiancée, Serenity. Seeing her brings all his guilt and pain to the surface, but these two have to work at her dad's bar together while her dad's recuperating. Can they do it without letting their feelings spill over?

Serenity and Chaz were the golden couple with a beautiful future ahead of them. So since he died, she hasn't been able to get past it, or get over him. Now back home and having to see Chaz's twin, Cooper, means her feelings are bubbling up. Can she allow herself to finally get past Chaz's death? With the man who has his face?

Untaken Twin is by far the most emotionally intense story of this series so if you plan on reading, bring a box of tissue with you, you'll definitely need them. Cooper and Serenity's story broke my heart more than a little. Both were suffering so much and couldn't seem to get past it. He felt guilt and tried to outrun with one adventure after another. She was grieving and tried to deny her feelings. That they found love with each other made my heart really happy because these two couldn't have been more deserving of love and happiness.

Untaken Twin provides readers with yet another incredible journey courtesy of Samantha Christy!
What an emotional read!

Honestly, her writing is just so impeccably consistent in the most wonderful way. Sigh....

Book 3 in the Calloway Brothers series is a book to remember! It will break your heart over and over again, but ultimately mend you so completely that you’d walk through hot coals to experience it for the first time once more. It’s that good.

Growing up Serenity Donovan enjoyed the friendship and admiration of identical twins Chaz and Cooper Calloway. The three of them were as close as friends could be, with Chaz and Serenity ultimately falling in love and becoming engaged by the age of twenty. She loved their zest for life, and supported their thrill seeking adventures, until one adventure changed everything.

Once upon a time, Serenity could see her life before her. She adored Chaz Calloway, and becoming his bride was a no-brainer. She adored his family, and they loved her. It was a perfect plan, but suddenly life changed course, decisions were made that could never be undone, and her world was upended.

To manage her emotional state, Serenity “Ren” Donovan did the only thing that made sense to her young heart.
She ran.
To Alaska.
There was just no way that she could remain in Calloway Creek facing the prospect of seeing his unforgettable face everyday.
She needed to put as much distance between herself and those from Calloway Creek as she could.

Cooper Calloway has always enjoyed walking on the wild side of life. Embracing the unexpected was a major plot point in his life, and he enjoyed the rush. Sharing it with his identical twin Chaz just upped the adventure ante, and bonded the two in unforgettable ways. Leave it to Chaz to make sure that the memories of their last adventure would stay with him forever. Cooper has been running far and wide trying to move forward, when an injury forces him to take steps towards home while recovering.

It’s been five years since the pair have crossed paths, but when Ren’s father needs help, he sees each of them as part of the solution, much to Ren’s dismay. Forced into trying to be civil for dad’s sake, Ren and Cooper slowly work through the baggage of the past, the accompanying deep and abiding pain, and begin to rekindle a friendship long since neglected. In time, they are able to see one another through a new lens. One that closes old wounds, opens soft hearts and a brand new world of possibilities.

And then...the unexpected takes another shot at the life the pair were only just starting to imagine.

I’m going to leave my review here....dangling this cliffy, because...it’s what a good book friend would do. Force you to take the journey for yourselves! To give away too many details, would just rob you of the experience that you owe it to yourselves to have.

READ. THE. BOOK.
And if you haven’t read the first two....read those too! You’ll love the others as well, I promise.

Next up, Addy! OMGGG, I can't wait for this one. Addy has some of the best comebacks from a heroine that I’ve ever read. She’s full of passion, has a big heart and an even bolder attitude than her handsome as sin brothers. Plus...there seems to be the possibility of something forbidden SC is teasing us with. I’m game!

I sincerely love this series, and know that you will too! ❤️

The last Calloway brother… heartbreakingly beautiful

Would you be able to love the identical twin brother of your dead fiancé? How much would the person you loved before be mirrored in their twin? Would you know whether you loved the person you have in your arms or the person that used to be there.

That is the dilemma faced by Serenity when she finds herself having return to the small town she fled from after her fiancé’s untimely and tragic death. It’s been four years since she left to avoid everything associated with the life she had planned with Chaz Calloway. He was her world since High School and everything in her future revolves around him. Until he was no longer there.

The other complication was his identical twin brother, Cooper. When Chaz was alive, the three of them were inseparable, which made the possibility of seeing him every day and dealing with that pain and loss even more profound. Escaping was her only hope of moving on… but life has a way of bringing you back to where you should be.

Cooper had also tried everything he could to avoid the memories and the loss of his brother. When Chaz died, a part of him died too. He didn’t want to experience life without the other half of him.

So when a near death accident brings him back to Calloway Creek, it throws his life back into that pit of loss and memories, but it’s only for a few weeks while he recovers, right?

This fantastically written story sees these two friends deal with not only the grief of losing such an important person in their lives, but about their own feelings towards each other. Chaz’s death threw them apart, but fate has forced them back together.

It’s emotional and highlights the difficulties faced when losing someone so pivotal in your life, yet needing them to help you face the future. Both of them have been fighting the need to move on, but neither have had the heart or the impetus to do it - until they realise that the closeness and attraction they feel isn’t a betrayal, it’s an inevitable conclusion. They need each other.

But when a new twist makes the situation even more complicated, it brings them even closer.

I’ve loved this story. It’s so emotionally charged and full of heart. Grief, love, loss, family… it’s got everything to pull at those heartstrings.

Cooper is just the most beautiful person with a huge heart. Being back amongst those he loves makes him realise just how much he has tried to run instead of facing his new future without the one person that had always been at his side. He thought he didn’t need anyone to help him heal… but in Serenity he discovers that he lost so much more than just his brother… he lost the only woman he had ever truly loved… yet was forbidden.

I’m sad that we’ve now got to the last Calloway brother, but I’m sure there’s more to come.

The epilogue and extended epilogues are fabulous and a wonderful insight into their lives beyond their union.

Well done Samantha… yet another amazing chapter in this ever growing world you have created. Feel like I know all these characters like they are my friends. Don’t want these fabulous stories to end.

Untaken Twin is the third book in Samantha Christy's phenomenal Calloway Brothers series and is Cooper and Serenity's heart-breaking story.
Everything changed the day Cooper's twin Chaz, who is also Serenity's first love and fiancé died. For the last four years both Cooper and Serenity have been running from their shared grief and each other. Cooper has been going on numerous dangerous adventures and has been taking extreme risks that could of easily killed him too and Serenity has been hiding in Alaska, away from everyone and everything she's ever known as being back in Calloway Creek is too painful with so many memories of her and Chaz and everything she has lost.
But after an adventure that went wrong, Cooper was injured and is now back home to recover and is counting down the days until he can get back to his daredevil life and after Serenity hears that her Dad needs her to come back home to run their family bar because of ill health means they're both back in Calloway Creek. To start with Serenity cannot even look at Cooper without seeing Chaz and the future she has lost. But all those years ago Cooper, Serenity and Chaz were all friends and after being around each other it becomes clear that they didn't just lose Chaz that day they lost each other too and something unexpected happens, there are sparks between them and even though it's wrong they can't stay away.
"Suddenly everything becomes clear to me. I want this. I want him. However wrong it is."
What does this mean? Can Serenity really be with her dead fiancé's brother? What will people think? And even though it may be wrong it feels so right. Will Serenity and Cooper find a way to make things work despite the many obstacles standing in their way?
Read Untaken Twin now to find out!
I LOVED, LOVED Untaken Twin, I could not put it down, it was so addictive and I got really annoyed when life got in the way and made me have to put it down!! With every book of Samantha's I say I have a new favourite which is true with Untaken Twin but I think it will be there to stay at top position! I cannot wait for the McQuaid brothers and Addy's story which you know is going to be amazing too because of how fiery she is! Untaken Twin had so many twists and turns that kept you gripped from the very start and left my thinking about this book long after I read The End.

This was a surprisingly emotional read, small town romances are often light and fluffy so this one was a bit darker, a bit sadder. Chaz, his identical twin Cooper and Serenity ( Ren) were high school sweethearts and friends, Ren and Chaz got engaged right after graduation, Cooper had feelings for Ren but never acted on them. Chaz and Cooper were adrenaline junkies, sports enthusiasts and planned to open a business offering outdoor pursuits.

But tragedy struck when they were 22, they were mountain climbing in Tennesee and got trapped in a rockfall. Cooper survived but Chaz didnt, devastated by their loss Cooper runs away from Calloway Creek and starts undertaking evermore risky extreme sports stunts and adventures for his Youtube channel, he feels such guilt and grief for surviving his twin, his other half. Meanwhile Ren flees to Alaska, unable to look at Cooper or be surrounded by his large, close knit family.

4 years later Ren's dad is sick and needs help running his pub and Cooper, injured after his latest adventure went wrong, is back in town, working at her dad's pub as well. At first Ren avoids him as its too painful to look on Chaz's mirror image, but gradually she starts to develop feelings. Cooper is also struggling with being attracted to his brother's fiancee, feelings he has had since high school. There is guilt, shame and a sense of betrayal here as both feel like they are dishonouring Chaz's memory.

But a big event happens in Cooper's life that changes everything, his career, his future. It stems from his past and he needs both Ren's help and that of his family. But all is not as it would appear, secrets come tumbling out, secrets that include exactly how Chaz died on that mountain and that maybe he wasnt the person everyone assumed he was. Can Ren and Cooper get their much deserved HEA?

This was a great read. I havent read the other books in the series but will probably check them out. I thought the grief and loss aspects were sensitively and realistically handled. There were twists and turns that kept it interesting. Both Cooper and Ren were utterly devastated by Chaz's death, as were his family and it was good to see that recovering from a loss of that magnitude was never going to be quick or easy. But it was a positive message that losing one soulmate doesnt mean you wont find another in time. Recommended.

Ren’s life imploded the day her fiancé died on a mountain. She couldn’t face the loss that invaded every aspect of her life so she ran across the country and then some, all the way to Alaska and never looked back. The pain doesn’t go away but at least she doesn’t have to face it head-on every day in the town where everything is a reminder of Chaz and the future they lost. She reluctantly agrees to come home temporarily when her father needs help, never suspecting he’s using his health as a way to set her up.

She’s not happy to be back but loves her dad and wants to keep Donovan’s running smoothly while he recuperates. Until she sees the face that haunts her every waking moment. Cooper Calloway is the haunting reminder of his twin and the last person Ren ever wanted to see again. He’s the one person who may be more broken than Ren by Chaz’s death, having watched his twin die on that mountain. He’s spent every day since that moment wishing he was the one who had died and Ren’s loathing of him is a constant cruel reminder that he lost both of his best friends that day.

Ren’s grief was palpable throughout the early pages but the way she treated Cooper was heartbreaking. It was a relief when she finally realized that she was punishing the one person who was suffering more from losing Chaz than even she. Although tragedy tore the former best friends apart, they cautiously find their way back to one another when Cooper’s life gets complicated and Ren steps up to help. But will their tentative bond shatter when old secrets come to light?

There’s a great twist in this story I didn’t see coming but it was perfect for these two. I loved the characters and the way they came together even as life continued to lob cruel curveballs. This was my first book by the author but won’t be the last because I loved everything about Ren and Cooper’s story and highly recommend this book.

📚 𝐀𝐑𝐂 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 📚

𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧 is the 3rd book in the Calloway series by @authorsamanthachristy.

I’ll be honest, book 1 was a start/stop read for me because I loved to hate Tag, the Calloway brother from book 1 and he was just a cocky son of a bitch 🤣🤣

However, after finishing book 3 I now want to go back and read from Book 1 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I was super intrigued with the blurb for Untaken Twin and wondered whether it would be a happy ending if that at all.

What I found was a story where the Hero and heroine, after being friends for so long come back together after years apart. There are heavy topics discussing in this book particularly around death and the grieving process so may trigger some readers.

Serenity and Chaz were young and in love until Chaz had a tragic accident. Rather than stay in her small home town and see his twin brother reminding her of what she had lost, she leaves and cuts all communication because the heartbreak is too much. Her father needing her help, has her returning back home.

Cooper, Chaz’s twin has also been grieving. Instead of just losing his twin and best friend, he lost his close friend Serenity as well. He threw himself into his career of daredevil stunts that he live streams until it one day after a close call injuring himself, he goes back home to recover.

He never expected to see Serenity again.

Small town romances always warm my heart. Why is it always the kids returning to help their parents then finding love? I actually dont know nor do I care but I LOVE IT. 🤣🤣 There is just something about them. Especially when the main characters have known each from before or since childhood.
The author weaves a delicate subject between a found family with plot twists and turns and it’s never boring. Lots of heart wrenching moments thats for sure. 😩😩

If you love:

🧡 Small Town

🧡 Found Family

🧡 Damaged Characters

🧡 Grief and Loss

🧡 Forbidden Romance

🧡 Brothers Ex

𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧 releases October 25th!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4.5/5 stars. First time giving a half star rating!

Thank you to @greyspromo and the author for the ARC in return for an honest and voluntary review.

I knew going in, that this book was going to be an emotional one. I knew it was going to tug at my heart in the way that Samantha does best. This book far exceeded my expectations. I have so much to say but yet don’t have the words for all that this book was! This is a book you will devour in one sitting because you won’t want to put it down.

This book is about Cooper, our moody adventurous Calloway brother. Ever since the day he lost his twin brother, Chaz, he has been on a different path. He kicked up his love for the outdoors a notch and is reckless and always down for an adventure. That is how he ends up back in Calloway Creek to recover after an injury. Serenity was Chaz’s fiance. After Chaz died, she ran off to Alaska and hasn’t been home since. She is particularly haunted by the idea of seeing Chaz’s face in Cooper. I really enjoyed getting these past scenes of Chaz, Cooper and Serenity. It gives us a better idea of the relationship that all of them had.

Cooper and Serenity together was a journey of healing. It literally broke my heart when Cooper was thinking that Serenity was only with him because she sees Chaz but the way she reassures him and tells him how they are different really made me so happy. I cried, I laughed, I cried some more. I just loved the character growth for both of them throughout the story. It is almost impossible to read this book without intense feelings, without your heartstrings being pulled, and without being shocked as h3II.

The twists that Samantha adds to the story blew me away. And it was more like a double twist. No matter how many books by this author I read, I am still amazed and surprised at the way she weaves these surprises throughout a story so seamlessly. I was so happy with the way this book ended. I loved the setup for the next series and can’t wait for it!

“We’re two sides of the same coin, he and I. I sit passively, waiting out my time until death eventually claims me. But Cooper—he’s actively seeking it.”

Untaken Twin is a beautifully crafted and heartbreaking yet uplifting story of loss, grief, love and learning to move on in the face of tragedy. Cooper and Serenity were both broken by Chaz’s death and both didn’t know how to move on from their grief. One ran from it while the other courted death with one high risk adventure after another. When they come face to face again, they finally start to confront their grief and begin to move on when another obstacle is placed in their way.

‘Besides, we were friends, Ren. We lost more than just him that day. We lost each other.”

Serenity was a shell of herself when we meet her. She was hiding from life and running from all of her feelings. Looking at Cooper was too painful since he was Chaz’s identical twin, but slowly she begins to see their differences and realizes that it’s time to begin to live again.

As wrong as it’s been, Serenity, it’s always been you.”

Cooper was so broken after watching his identical twin die and he struggles with survival guilt. He puts himself in danger time and time again because he doesn’t think he should be alive. It was heartbreaking watching him struggle with the feelings he had always had for Serenity as well as deal with the other twists and turns that are thrown at him.

“It’s you I love, Cooper. Not your face. Not a memory of someone else.”

These two were so beautifully broken and they needed each other in order to begin to heal. The journey they traveled was not easy and was painful and angsty, but it was so worth it. This moving story of love and loss and family found is so emotional and heart-wrenching that you will not be able to put it down.

Simply Stunning, and Grab the Tissues

Just when I thought those Calloway brothers couldn’t do any more beautiful damage to my heart, Samantha Christy brings out the rollercoaster of emotions in Untaken Twin. And even though I knew this was going to be intense and heartrending, I was not prepared for the incredible twists and revelations embedded in Chaz, Cooper, and Serenity’s story.

Untaken Twin is a journey through guilt and forgiveness, grief and acceptance, rage and recovery, but also so much about closure and new beginnings. Christy builds in beautiful elements of family ties and treasures as she weaves a tale of secrets and lies that ultimately culminate in an unexpected but incredible HEA.

Even the plot twists in this story have plot twists. And through them, Christy brings to life not just the characters involved, but their anguish and ultimately their peace of heart, soul, and mind. Questions about events alluded to in the previous two books in the Calloway Creek series are answered, raising even more questions, and bringing the characters and readers some pretty incredible “shut the front door” (or Kindle) moments.

Cooper’s story has tugged at my heartstrings since Tag’s book, and even though I knew it was going to be an emotional read, I still wasn’t prepared for just how deeply powerful his story would be. And Serenity is a beautiful force to be reckoned with, a passionate soul, and a strong catalyst for the recovery both she and Cooper need, right when they need it.

Although Untaken Twin can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading it in order within the three book Calloway brothers saga. Because although it is the story of Cooper and Serenity’s HEA, it’s also the ultimate expression of closure for the entire family as well as readers who have traveled this path with them.

Have you ever read a book that you wanted to read again immediately after finishing it for the first time? That is exactly what I wanted to do with this book. I love everything Samantha Christy writes but this one literally sucked me and all my emotions right in!

Cooper has spent the last 4 years holding unbearable guilt over his twin brother, Chaz’s death. While everyone knows how Chaz died only Cooper knows all the details and reasons, he can’t forgive himself.

Serenity was devastated when her fiancé died and doesn’t know how she will live in the same town as Chaz’s twin brother without being reminded of him every day. She does the only thing she can think of and moves to Alaska to escape all her pain. The problem is she is still in pain but also feels guilt for leaving her father.

When Serenity’s dad needs help after surgery he asks her to come home and run the family pub while he recovers. Serenity and Cooper end up being around each other again for the first time in 4 years and boy do they have a lot to work through. They have an undeniable connection but so many hurdles in the way. Serenity has to let go of the past and Cooper needs to forgive himself and be able to love Serenity without guilt. This book was a steamy romance but so much more! It was heartbreaking and beautiful watching them navigate through their grief together. There is so much more to this book but I don’t want to give away any spoilers.

Of course, it was fun catching up with the other Calloway siblings as well. I love how fun, quirky and loyal they all are. Cannot wait for Addison to get her HEA in Samantha’s next book, No Small Bet where we will also get the McQuaid Brother’s stories.

Untaken Twin is book 3 of the Calloway Brothers series.

I picked up this book after seeing it recommended on IG. The premise really intrigued me and I had never read anything from that author.

After the death of his twin brother Chaz, Cooper lives his life on the dangerous side. He feels guilthy for the loss of Chaz and throughout flashbacks, we are brought back to that devastating day and get to understand what really happen during that hiking expedition. Needless to say I cried a lot...

Serenity decides she can't look at Cooper's face without feeling the immense pain of loosing her fiancé so she leaves town to get away from it all. An unfortunate event will bring her back to Calloway Creek almost 4 years later, where she will have to face the man who was once one of her best friends, but who reminds her everyday of the love she lost.

This story shook a lot of emotions in me. The whole idea behind losing the love of your life and then slowly developping feelings for their identical twin... I was looking forward to see how the author was going to develop that storyline in a sensitive way.

Right from the start, I could feel the pain in Cooper and Serenity. I started tearing up from the moment I read about their loss and their grief for Chaz. Both MCs showed stubborness and force but were so vulnerable, I was invested in their relationship right from the beginning.

This story came with twists I did not expect and it kept me on my toes until the end. The beautiful connection between Cooper and Ren was simple yet so intense. I knew I was going to cry for them, and cheer for them.

Such a beautiful story filled with family and love and grief and hope. This one was a total winner in my book.

UNTAKEN TWIN: A Small-Town Forbidden Romance (The Brothers of Calloway Creek) I wanted to read this book as soon as I read the blurb! Once I started, I read as often as time allowed until I finished it at 1:30 in the morning. Has plenty of sad heartbreak! But unexpected surprises too. As long as the Epilogue is good, I'm fine!

Cooper Calloway was sure he would ever be able to recover from the tragic loss of his twin brother Chaz. They had been pretty must inseparable. Now it was Cooper alone that did all the dangerous stunts that him and his brother had done together. The more dangerous it was, didn't bother Cooper. If he joined his brother in death, it was alright with him. There was one reason he knew he should carry on. Chaz had asked for one thing when he knew he was dying. That was Cooper must take care of Chaz's Fiancée Serenity or called just Ren. His problem is that Ren wanted nothing to do with the love of her life's twin brother. Cooper's face was identical to Chaz's face, and she couldn't stand looking at him since he was alive, and Chaz was gone. Ren ran away to Alaska because she couldn't be near Cooper. It was almost a full four years, when her dad called her home to help run the family restaurant. He needed her because he fell and needed hip replacement. He'd also failed to tell her that Cooper was running the place till she returned home. Neither one of them had a clue what they were about to face. Her father had planned on this and seems they find each other more than not getting along. It's not too long and they are more to each other than friends!

Having read the first two Calloway Brothers books, I knew that Untaken Twin was going to be a doozy.... and Samantha Christy delivered all the angst-filled goodness with Cooper and Serenity's story!

If you've read the blurb, you know what this story is about. Cooper is the identical twin of Serenity's late fiance, Chaz. It's been four years since the accident claimed Chaz's life, and neither Cooper nor Ren have been able to move on. They are both trapped in the past, but when her dad has a health issue and calls upon them to co-manage his bar/restaurant, Cooper and Ren have to stop running from their demons and confront them head-on.

How can she work side by side with the man who looks like the dead love of her life? Once upon a time, Ren was one of Cooper's best friends, but he is so guilt-stricken by Chaz's death, he can barely face her now. How can they possibly co-manage a restaurant? And oh my goodness, the guilt that consumes them both as they start to develop feelings for one another!

While I loved Jaxon and Tag's stories, there was something just so much more amazing about Cooper and Ren. And it's because of that forbidden aspect of Cooper being Chaz's twin. Chaz's death affected all of the Calloway brothers, but Cooper more than the others since they were together when Chaz died. The survivor's guilt is real for Coop, and the emotional guilt he feels once he starts falling for Serenity just about kills him.

This is a gut-wrenching, beautiful story that I will be keeping on my read-often list! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Calloway Brothers #3

Cooper Calloway lost his twin brother Chaz to an accident while on one of their adventures and since then his happiness is gone and he has survivor's guilt. Since that time he has been on numerous adventures until he goes too far and gets injured during a kayaking one and thought he was gonna die and comes back to Calloway Creek to heal his arm. Not one to sit idle he goes to Donovan's pub and Donny the owner needs to have surgery and while talking, Cooper offers to manage the place while Donny has surgery and heals.
Serenity "Ren" Donovan was Chaz's fiancee and since he died she still dreams of him all the time and it's a struggle to get out of bed each day, only to go through the motions. She and the brothers spent almost all of their time together. They were engaged at 18 but her dad wanted them to wait for 5 yrs to get married and they agreed but now regrets they waited. She had moved to Sitka, Alaska after his death and now almost 4 yrs later she needs to go back home and help out her dad running Donovan's while he has surgery.
Both Cooper and Serenity are shocked to see each other and then to find out they are both working at the pub is even harder, since they have both been running from the past. There is chemistry between the two but will they act on it? And not to mention a twist and secret that no one knew about. How does that affect them and what will they do?
"We were supposed to live together. Adventure together. Die together.
