Cami Checketts is the queen of romantic suspense. I love this Delta Family series. Esther Delta is a lawyer for the Air Force. When she was 19 years old, she had a life altering experience sending her into therapy for a year to overcome OCD and panic attacks. She stays away from home for a decade to finish her schooling, work, and not let her family in on her secret. When a man she breaks up with starts stalking her, she returns home to the safety of her family near Summit Valley. She sees the stalker there in town and she panics and rushes to the town sheriff, Reed Peterson, her brother's best friend. She kisses him passionately and then asks him to play along. Unbeknownst to Esther, Reed has had a crush on her since Junior High but she has always put him in the friend zone. As they work together to stop the stalker, Esther begins to see Reed through new eyes. This story is the perfect blend of romance and suspense.

Can I please have more than 5 stars? Cami Checkett just keeps pulling me into her stories. I’ve been in love with the Delta family since Book 1 and I sincerely hope we can involve the cousins so we don’t have to end with just this family. I hurt for Esther and the control fear has on her. Okay, you have to read the book to find out what this brave warrior fears, just note, it isn’t a person. Reed is a rock throughout. We’re given romance, humor, intrigue and a genuinely evil villain. Thor cracks me up. Thankfully I only have to wait a few weeks, not months, for my next fix of Delta family.

When fake is not so faked
This story is as much a whodunit as it is a simple, supposedly-fake date to discourage Esther's prior suitor from continued pursuit. I was not expecting the twists and turns this story took. It really kept me turning pages.
Watching Esther futilely try to keep this 'fake' relationship in its pigeonhole was entertaining. Reed kept dismantling the walls she built as fast as she tried to shored them up. But Reed was always consistently sweet with her, loving her through all her quirks. He really demonstrated how and why love will conquer all.
I purchased a copy of this story from in a collection boxset and voluntarily chose to share my review.

Esther comes home to help protect the Delta family secret. She has a stalker who follows her home and enlists Reed, the sheriff, to be her fake boyfriend to discourage her stalker into giving up. The author did a great job weaving the stalker aspect into the story and also included some familiar faces from one of her past series.
Esther has a rule: After 3 dates, she ends the relationship. Will Esther break her rule with Reed and will their fake relationship stay fake or become real?
I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

What she didn’t count on is the fact she has a stalker following her. In hopes of deterring the guy, she kisses the sheriff in view of the stalker and everyone else in town. well you hit this one out of the park.
There is nothing about this book not to love. Strong hot sheriff, beautiful lawyer and loving family. Two very strong characters that just kept getting more and more vulnerable. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. Now when is the next one coming out???

Loved, loved, this story. Esther and Reed, the hot sheriff, were meant to be together.Esther had issues to overcome, her with OCD tendencies, and past history of losing her boyfriend, early in life. But together, they would be better, only if she lets him into her life. Enjoy.

Devoted is another epic addition to the Delta Family series. The emotions are raw and real, the storyline captivating, and the ending is sheer perfection. Reed’s my new favorite. I can’t wait until the next book!!

Another Great Addition to the Series
Not much on the secret weapon this time. Just Esther having an obsessed lunatic after her. Reed is a great Sheriff that has loved Esther a long time, so fake dating wasn’t a problem. I love how things worked out!

I absolutely loved this book!! Esther Delta and Reed, the Sheriff in her hometown, were friends. When Esther feels threatened, she turns to Reed to protect her by playing along. After it turns out her fears were not unfounded, Reed promises to completely protect her. After dates that were worth breaking her rules for, Esther casually breaks both of their hearts in order to stay within her safety net. Danger plays out, the net is set and Esther has a decision to make that will alter the course of her life. What will full-blown love and faith faithfully trusting God do in enabling her to reach into the heart of the matter?
