Hi, I'm Brittany! I love a good outdoor adventure, Andy's Frozen Custard, nibbling on my son's yummy cheeks, and binge-watching Downton Abbey. I’m also a big fan of road trips, great food, and new experiences. Coffee is a must have in life and although some may call me crazy, I prefer the mountains, rain, and cooler weather!
A little about me: I'm an author, speaker, podcast host, and founder of For the Mama Heart. I'm also a regular contributor for Crosswalk, YouVersion, Propel Women, Focus on the Family, and have contributed resources to LifeWay Women, Single Christianity Magazine, iBelieve, ForEveryMom, and many more.
I'm married to the most wonderful guy in the world, the dashing Ryan Rust [as I affectionately call him]. He is on staff at Focus on the Family and together we make our home in the great state of Colorado, pursuing life, marriage, and ministry. We have a handsome son named Roman (his yumminess makes me want to channel Beverly Goldberg), a precious little one in Heaven, and a permanent puppy lab named Pepper!
Absolutely geared towards the kids, these short family devotions are designed to inspire questions and conversation between family members. If you do nothing but read the scripture and the short passage in the book, you will be done in 5 minutes. However, if your kids participate, this could easily springboard into a nice conversation and Bible study.
After each devotion there are 3 rotating sections: Let’s Pray, Let’s Talk, Let’s Do Activities Together. One of them appears at the end of each lesson and works to bring a conclusion or segue to the next lesson. These lessons are open enough that whoever is leading them can make adjustments for the age of their family members and can add or delete information based on their current situation.
Five months of a very general Bible survey that visits Genesis thru Revelation and focuses on God, Jesus and our relationship to him is the overall format. Each lesson is given a topical name that’s easily revisited via the table of contents in the future. Sin and the need of a savior are recognized as coming from a loving God. The book is positive, encourages worship, and practice of the fruits of the spirit.
All things considered, an excellent addition to family libraries📚
