This series has quickly become one of my favorite series, mostly because the characters are so amazing to read about. However, I got the last book in this trilogy quite some time ago already and yet I didn't get to read it. Yesterday evening I also put the book aside, thinking I would save it for another day, but this morning when I woke up I really felt the want to pick up this book and to learn how the story of Eliana and Fenris would end!

I loved everything about this book. I most of all loved how Fenris and Eliana really found each other. We of course already knew that they were mates and that it was a matter of time before things would start happening, but it was nice to have so many sweet moments between them in this book. All those moments, however simple they sometimes were, showed perfectly why these two characters were mates and literally made for each other.

This book also showed us way more of the world, especially because we're seeing more of the wolves and their lives. Of course, there were moments I wanted to strangle the pack with my own bare hands, because how can you stand in the way of love, but in a way I also understood where they came from. Old habits die hard, especially when all of a sudden something happens that has never happened in recorded history before.

But the most beautiful storyline in this book is Eliana embracing her own powers in a way that works for her. I like how all those attempts to turn her into a succubus going around for her food have failed. Eliana doesn't need to change to be amazing. However, that doesn't mean she can't use her powers for something good, to make the world a better place and to change a community that has too long relied on people only interested in power.

The Hunger by Melissa Haag a five-star read that will appease your appetite. This is number three in the Kiss and Claw series, and I would definitely say to read them in order as they build and develop the characters and the story, and what a story. Eliana just keeps surprising me, with her passion and selflessness. She is so strong, and Fenris is strong as well, but she exudes something that will keep you on your toes. Watching her embrace her true self, is a thing of beauty, it unfurls and even writing this I have tears in my eyes as its such a powerful undercurrent. Then you have Piepen, who also surprised me, but in such different ways. This is a great story, and one you would be sorry to miss no matter the genre you read, pick this series up and give it a go.

WTH ending

I loved this series and was really looking forward to this book. I loved the idea of a reluctant succubus and a sexy werewolf. Everything was going great and then bam it’s the end! It was so abrupt. I flipped back a few pages thinking I skipped some pages. There was so much left unsaid. Very disappointing finish.

The Hunger is the 3rd book in the By Kiss and Claw series, so if you haven’t read the prior books please know there will be spoilers below.

This book begins with Eliana still in shock over finding out that she had been feeding off of Fenris during her cake dreams. This makes her break out into a full blown panic attack over hurting her friend and taking away his free will. Eliana is such a gentle soul who has only ever wanted to make sure that her succubus needs never hurt those she loves, but now with Fenris’ situation she is at a loss. She is determined to save him from herself and so she sets out to avoid him for as long as necessary, which is her solution to most problems. Luckily, Fenris is a werewolf who prefers hunting and is a little more practiced at it than she is at hiding. I think this is the perfect series ender for Eliana and Fenris’ story!

P.S. I love that we get to continue on with these characters and this world in Ashlyn’s story next, because I am not ready to give them up yet. ❤️

I received an ARC of this book from Melissa Haag via Booksprout. This book comes out July 6th.

This is a book that I have been waiting for and as always it;s absolutely amazing. Melissa is truly a gifted author. The Fates and Furies series was our introduction to the world of Mantirum and all the different creatures that lived there. The Kiss and Claw series gives us a much deeper understanding of how the children of the gods structure their society and run things. Even as I look forward to reading the In Fire and Ash series, I must applaud this book.
Eliana has kept her hunger at bay by sheer will power. Her inherent strength and pure nature is what endears her. Fenris, what can I say about this playful, supportive and possessive werewolf. He's absolutely perfect for her. Their antics kept me smiling. And the bonus was reading about their future. They really truly deserve all that happiness.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Love this book so much. I’m so happy with how this series ended. The struggles and growth of main character, Eliana is so well written by author Melissa Haag. As a reader, you really feel like you are struggling with her. The chemistry between Eliana and Fenris is so natural and endearing. Finally, it was so nice to see Eliana to fight for what she wanted and to see her character overcome her own obstacles as well as those placed in front of her by other characters. It was great to have more of Megan and Oanen as well. I also love the other supporting characters that always helps balance the story with humor. I’m really excited that more stories will be told in this amazing world that Melissa Haag has created. I’m really looking forward to them. Don’t miss the By Kiss and Claw series. It’s so worth the read.

I think this series could be read as stand alone, but a reader would appreciate it more if they started with the series Of Fates and Furies- the 3 book series for Megan & Oanen by Melissa Haag, as there’s a bit of world building & background character development there that will enrich this series even more. This is book #3 for Eliana & Fenris’ 3 book series, and what a fantastic conclusion! I loved the developing connection I felt between them. Fenris is a fantastic main male character that a lot of women readers will want to be their book boyfriend. I also am looking forward to the next series set in this world!

Fenris's dad is a fucking asshole that needs his ads kicked alot!! Fenris is awesome and he is very patient about a lot of things but when she finally realized her real feelings and what her future will b like she will do what she needs 2 do 2 keep everyone from destroying her 1 reason 4 her opening up more of her shell and who her life really revolves around her future mate 4 life. The council members need 2 b gone and new ones in their place if they can't get their shit 2gether start caring and do things 4 all creatures including humans instead of ignoring some of them!! I soooo can't wait 4 more!!

Chasing Eliana and Fenris' relationship through the books was such a joy. She felt all of the angst of a young woman who didn't know how to deal with her "ability" but knew she didn't want to grow up to be her mother. Fenris felt his attraction to Eliana from early on and fought not to give it away while staying by her side, her protector, her friend. As these characters' worlds collide, it creates an uproar that is felt throughout their protected world.

It was fascinating to watch Eliana come to terms with her hunger while Fenris bucked the system to help her find exactly what she needed. It was the perfect ending to an exciting series.

The Hunger is the perfect ending to this trilogy. I cannot wait for the author to write more in this world! The characters are so dynamic making you crave more. Add in the humor and you have yourself a perfect book. This is book three in the trilogy, so you have to read the first two, but trust me, you will not regret it. These books will have you dying of laughter while also sleuthing your way to figure out what the heck is going on. 5 star read for sure.

About darn time

Oh this book and all the feels. Eliana is finally able to begin embracing who she is, Fenris has finally made his move, and everything has been set into motion from the end of The Hunt. Megan and Oanen are back, the hunt for Ashley is on, and more. There is so much going on to say anything without spoiling it, but you're going to love this ending. Eliris forever <3

I enjoyed this conclusion of Eliana and Fenris story. At last Eliana finally realizes that she is strong enough to conquer all of the doubts that she has had throughout the series. The setup for some other stories were also introduced in this last installment. I am curious as to what is going to happen next. I did not give this book a 5 ⭐ because it dragged on and certain scenes for me were just not necessary. 4.5 ⭐

So good!

I will admit I was disappointed we didn’t get to experience Eliana running from Fenris in her red dress but hopefully there will be another book or another spin off to answer some unanswered questions. I’m really hoping Adira gets throat punched too

Even when I know what is coming, some authors still manage to surprise me. The details aren't worth spoilers but I've never regretted reading this author even when I'm not fully into the tale. So the best news is that at least two more spin offs are planned from this universe.

Loved it

I absolutely loved Eliana and Fenris ' story. All the crap they went thru to prove they belonged together. I'm not sure how she didn't go crazy on a few of the characters. I will forever love the characters of this book.

I'm so proud of Eliana and how she embraced all the complicated facets of her self. And Fenris was so sweet and supportive. There is so much I love about this series that it's hard to put things into words. Beautifully done, as always.

Love it!

Coming of age paranormal drama for mature teens and older. The series was fun, interesting, and a bit of mystery. I loved the way they wrapped it up. It was steamy without vulgarity.

What did I feel when reading this trilogy? Well, the first book - disappointment (because as I wrote earlier after Fury, I could not wait to read the story of Ealiene and Funris), the second book - frustration and the third book was resignation. Not very interesting with verging on boredom.

Amazing, this whole trilogy is amazing. I have loved each and every book, Eliana grows so much in this book and Fenris is just scrumptious (literally)!

Initially, I was a little disappointed that it seemed the essence collection and the mate run weren’t written in this book, that was until I realised the essence collection was available to read if you wanted to (I must say, what an ingenious move by Melissa, as not everyone likes reading the saucy bits) and also that the mate run will be written when Eliana and Fenris are ready to share (again, I love this explanation by Melissa, truly shows her relationship with the characters she creates). Then all my disappointment faded away and I realised it just gives me something else to look forward to!

Absolutely cannot wait to read Ashlyn’s story and Kelsey’s too for that matter. Would love to know a little more about Zayn and what he is up to, but no doubt that will come in the next instalments!

Melissa Haag has fast become one of my favourite authors and is one of the few authors whose stories I love so much that I can read them time and time again!

But you are killing me. Need to know how Hades was appeased. How Ashlyn got out of hell.
