Grant Mittel is the Paranormal Probe's secret weapon for ghost hunting: he's a medium.

His ability to communicate with the dead is put to the ultimate test when the crew takes on an unprecedented challenge—living at the famously haunted Allan Hotel for three months to film the new season of their ghost hunting show. The hotel has many dark secrets, and some of the spirits here have been trapped here by an unseen malevolent force.

Huck Sharpe is one of those unfortunate souls, and he's been stuck here ever since he had an unfortunate accident that may not have been so accidental. Along with a colorful host of other ghosts, Huck has been haunting the hotel for years, but Grant is the first medium he's ever met. Huck finds himself drawn to Grant in a way he can't explain, and there are instant sparks of attraction when Grant reaches out to make contact.

Grant and Huck must navigate the complications of their unique romance and work together to unravel the strange mysteries of the Allan Hotel before the evil spirit here claims another victim.

This was a book, kinda cute, kinda annoying.

It felt to me like it had trouble deciding what kind of book it wanted to be. The ghost fucking plot and the Evil Staircase plot are sort of chunked together, and it lacked flow. It seemed like its goal was to be cute and funny but then the Evil Staircase plot would try to be ominous at times and it didn't work for me. Or maybe it wasn't trying to be ominous. Maybe I was expecting more spooky vibes than there were ever meant to be (none).

I struggled a bit to connect with the writing - it's sort of choppy? I'm not sure, but I didn't get hooked into the story. All the characters spoke the same as well, with the exception of Sip, who still managed to speak the same as the Hollywood starlet ghost.

The romance is just instalust plus a whole lot of sex.

The extended discussion of The Walking Dead, a show I know nothing about and care nothing about, was really annoying. I already hate pop culture references, but detailed discussions? Absolutely not.

Points for having some creative ghost sex later though! That saved this from being a 2 star read.

This was the 4th book I've read in this series (yes, I'm fully aware that I'm reading them out of order. lol), and this was my favourite of them so far.

What an awesome paranormal romance. PNR of the ghostly variety isn’t usually my jam, but this was delightful. Grant and Huck were downright adorable together.

Grant is a medium investigating a hotel for a t.v. Show. Once he meets Huck, one of the ghosts, he is immediately drawn to him. I loved this take on the paranormal. How Huck basically had to learn how to be dead from Sip, one of the other ghosts. He even learned a ton of new tricks to facilitate his budding relationship with Grant. I loved Grant and Huck’s late night conversations and bonding time. It added a layer to each of these characters that I loved.

Huck was so charming. He had this playfulness about him that made him so endearing. He was ready to do any and every thing to make Grant happy. I loved how they took things slow to make sure they could navigate their relationship together. He was also very into Grant physically and I was here for a chonky MC.

The mystery of the Eastern Stairs was just right for a book like this. It was intriguing and seemed to work well with the setting. I also enjoyed getting to know the rest of the side characters who had several laugh out loud moments.

This book was FUN. No crazy angst or miscommunications. Just two guys falling in love while trying to solve a mystery. Oh, and one happens to be dead. I really, really enjoyed it and it was a great start to what’s shaping up to be a great Haunted Love series.

Alphabet challenge - S

This was essentially The Shining meets BBC Ghosts. Grant, the medium hiding who he is from those that don't need to know, and Huck, a victim of the inhuman spirit in the stairs. Sip was interesting, a sexually harassing ghost, as was Mrs Charles sorting things out. I kinda felt sorry for Baus getting the handbag treatment. Janice sucked, but that was clear from the start. Miscommunication but not the annoying kind.

A solid 3.75.

Honestly, this was close to a 4.5 for me until the climax and everything after. I enjoyed the dual POV of Grant and Huck. I enjoyed how their relationship progressed. I really liked the personality of the other ghosts and film crew and how they played into the story. I think they all had really cool personalities although we didn't get much into them. I will say if you hate pop culture references I just want you to know that in here a lot and maybe one or two other references. In my opinion, it wasn't distracting because it was something the characters bonded over rather than something the author added to specifically nudge the reader.

I think the build-up was really well done and I was really excited to find out what was going to happen next. Then we get to the climax and it just felt...lackluster. It was comedic, but still lackluster. The build-up was obviously leading the reader down a different path (which was intentional, I know) and that was what I expected the story to follow so when you go from a really tense event to something comedic it just sort of falls flat in my opinion.

Spoiler ahead!

Overall though, well down. Eagerly awaiting the next in the series (though it is written by a different author).

4.5 ⭐️👻 A fantastic ghost story to love. I really enjoyed this one and it’s a bit different to others I’d read in the past.
A great start but a little sad as Huck joins the hauntings of the house.
Huck was to do a wood working job at the Allen Hotel and rumoured to have ghost after a past TB outbreak years past but has an accident.
4 years on...
Grant was a medium on a show
exploring haunted houses. Each location was to be 3 months and now was the Allan home.
A great connection between them even with Huck being the ghost. I loved the humour especially with Sip another ghost. Both characters had some new learnings of what they could do with some unique experiences. The s’mores puns are funny with the banter. The book has an element of danger inhabiting the stairs which has them avoiding the area until they know more what they were up against. There is definitely chemistry between Huck and Grant and they make a sizzling couple. The story progresses with danger and an untrusting crew member included. A fantastic ending the the story with both povs for HEA.

This story weaves together so many compelling elements: mystery, ghost hunting, romance, etc. There’s also a nice blend of moods and feelings here: scary moments, sweet ones, and some humor at times as well. The premise is great– a haunted hotel, a medium/ ghost romance, a mystery, a ghost hunting show: what more do you need? Huck and Grant are lovely, together and as individuals. Their medium and ghost dynamic, as well as their chemistry, fits both of them beautifully. There are some scene-stealing supporting characters, which I always love. Finally, it’s worth mentioning (vaguely, to avoid spoilers) that the ending, hard to nail in a romance in which one character is no longer among the living, fit the dimensions of HEA nicely. Definitely well worth a read.

Watching Those Stars for Love

The first in the MM PNR series about ghosts, Stargazing With A Ghost, shines!

K.L. Hiers creates a wonderful story that allows readers to feel the romance in the air, between a member of the Oxygen Intolerant Club and a shy medium. As their friendship blossoms, while Grant’s tv show is filming in the haunted Allen Hotel, Huck finds himself drawn to his inner light.

This is a lovely and steamy combustable pair who work together, with some other outlandish deceased residents and the rest of the PP show and podcast team, to find out the mystery behind so many deaths at the hotel. The hauntings bring this whole group together, but the stars help them find romance.

Another Good Addition to a Brilliant Series

This series has been so enjoyable and somehow this book got lost in my TBR but I have now read the entire series.

The book made me laugh. It was full of entertaining characters, outrageous ghosts, Sip and Rebecca were hilarious, and the sexy times between Grant and Huck were 🔥🔥🔥who knew that a ghost only had to concentrate and imagine doing something for it to happen!

If you can suspend belief and let yourself be led into a plot with ghosts, a misunderstood demon, a ghost hunting film crew and a medium and a ghost falling in love then you will love this fun read.

This was a good addition to the series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Loved this mix of murder mystery, spooky ghost hunting adventures and the romance between Grant, the medium and Huck, the spirit. The atmosphere in the Allan Hotel draws you in and makes you check around the room when you hear creaks, lol. I am always a bit worried when one of the characters in the romance is a ghost. I wonder if the author can find an ending that I will buy and that makes for a perfect HEA. Boy, oh boy do I love the ending of this one! Bring on the rest of the Haunted Love series.

This is quite possibly the most cuddly ghost story I have ever come across. Huck and Grant are just absolutely adorable. And don't forget ghostly smexy times!
The side characters are hysterical. Aside from the sweet and snuggly romance, Sip and Rebecca were my favorite part. I totally snorted.
And... trying not to give anything away... I really liked how K L handled the ending. One of my most irksome parts about ghost romance is the questionable HEA. I mean, let's be honest, one of them is dead...
This ending was perfect.

HEA with Ghostly Magic

Plot: Grant, a medium, and his TV ghost hunting crew stays at a haunted hotel to film their next season and finds love with Huck, a ghost, amid a ‘big bad’ ghostly mystery and smexy hijinks.
Feels: Giggles, awws and squeees
Drama: None
Heat: 4/5 - ghostly appendages abound
Characters: Grant and Huck are adorable. The entire ghost hunter crew and all the sentient ghosts were such a fun ensemble cast lead by the hilarious Precipitation (love that name!)
Pacing: Good smooth flow
Length: Medium, no fillers
Ending: A magical HEA!

Oh Wow!...Not sure what I expecting with this ghost story but I was highly entertained. I enjoyed all the twists and turns that had me second guessing and trying to figure different outcomes. So much "scrumping" craziness going on that I come to expect when I read KL Hiers books. Grant and Huck had that intense connection that I knew there had to be a satisfying ending. This was great and I wasn't disappointed. This was my first read in this Haunted Love series and now that I started I gotta read more in the series.

I disliked this book so much that I’m not reading the other books in the collection - even though they are written by different authors. I look at the other titles and I remember this book and decide to read something else instead.

This is not a major reason why I disliked the book, but I don’t want to spend too much time being negative so, just this annoying little side thing: why would an ancient Aztec god/spirit thing only speak Latin? Why not Nahuatl or something else like that? Or, if it learned languages after it was trapped and colonialists arrived, Spanish?

I really enjoyed this book. I have never read a paranormal book like this. It was a fun read. I loved the main characters as well as the side characters. Grant and Huck were so great together. The story, with all it's twists and turns had me going... And who would have thought the ending. Without giving it away, I have to say, it thrilled me. The consideration and feelings that Grant and Huck had were so well written ... And who couldn't love Sip and Rachel? A really good read.

I was so excited to read this book and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Huck and Grant are absolutely destined to be together and the fact that one of them is a ghost isn’t going to stand in their way! As with all of K.L. Hiers’ work, this story is funny, sweet and so incredibly well written. It’s sexy and kept me guessing the entire time! Amazing!

Stargazing and s'mores

What a fun story! I didn't really know what to expect between a human and a ghost, but this blew me away. There were so many fun characters, loved Sip and Mrs. Charles. This story was hilarious, mysterious, and so hot. Grant and Huck were adorable and sweet. I will definitely read this again.

Perfect for Halloween (or any time you need a good spooking)

I love ghost stories, especially when there's a haunted house involved. I also love this author, so that made this an easy pick for me.

I adored Grant and Huck, and their ghostly (and not so ghostly) crew. Great read, and highly recommend!

Wow!! The scene when everything finally went down was so intense and amazing.

Stargazing With A Ghost

Ok, so I’ve officially read the whole series now and can honestly say I loved every one of them. It’s interesting to see what the mystery is and how the ghost will get their HEA.

This one was like an episode of Supernatural and some ghost movies all rolled in one. I could totally see this as an animated or live-action movie.

Highly recommend.

So sweet and SO sexy!

I love that this story started off right from the first chapter with the characters meeting and starting their adorable rapport. It was filled with plenty of sexy times and love in between. A true romance novel with no angst or “will they, won’t they.” Im so glad this is a series!! Finished this book up in one workday (shhhhh).

This story was fantastic! Grant & Huck & their unique crazy group of friends take the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions and adventure. Love these 2 together, and their story has one hell of a plot twist - several, in fact - and didn't end the way I'd anticipated! Loved it all!

Haunted house fun

This was a pretty funny haunted house story with a big cast of characters both alive and ghosty. I liked it although I started to skim a little in the middle.
