"A group of friends walk into a bar..."
'Last Night Out' by Ty Gabe, Alan, and Erin thought one last night out on the town before their junior year of college came to an end would be fitting. They're the best of friends, and not seeing each other for an entire summer vacation isn't something they're looking forward to. So they do what they always do on a Friday night-they go to a bar. Only this time they decide to try someplace new-the Torchlight Inn...
'Tones of Home' by Thomas A. Ashley and Maurice are in love. The two of them are headed to her hometown for the holidays to share the good news with her family. Those two things would drive any young man to drink, but add the fact that he's from the South and an African-American, and they are headed to the rural upstate town of Arcadia Falls, NY, where the reputation of toothless and inbred rednecks even scares the streetwise kid from North Carolina. Nevertheless, they are truly in love and Maurice is sure he's encountered more dangerous things on the gang-filled streets of Durham...
'Off Limits' by Dean For spring break, Ellen Campbell is not going to party at the beach-she's taking her new boyfriend, Shawn Farris, home to Miller Falls to meet her parents for the first time. She is very excited about it, but also nervous as to how her father, a famous crime writer, will take to Shawn, her very first boyfriend...
Plus three extra shots of twisted horror for your drinking and reading pleasure!

Out of the three novella's in this book, there was only one I really liked.
Thomas A. Erb's story, "Tones of Home" pulled me in right from the start and held me right until the end. It is a story I'd highly recommend. (If it was a stand alone book, I'd have given it 5 stars.)
I wish I could say the same for the other two novella's, but I personally couldn't get into them, or relate in any way to the characters.
Overall it's worth reading, especially "Tones of Home." (Maybe you can relate to the characters in the other two, where I couldn't.)

3 really good stories. The editor fell down on the job with some grammatical errors but the stories are solid.

4.25 overall. If you like violence, then this is a read for you. Talk about bloody! For the most part very well written, can wander at times (some of the stories) but not too much. For short stories there is a lot of details that can be left out at times, so that was nice. Felt more like a complete story. Not many happy endings though lol. I guess the tales really were twisted!
