This book is loosely arranged by the author in the form of a story. It tells about love desired, love lost, love enjoyed, love lost and love -- a different kind of love -- found again.
Read it with someone you're destined to love--yourself. Takes you through the various stages of a relationship from infatuation to painful breakup via clever, short, and easily accessible poems. "These are your poems. I only wrote them down," McWilliams says. Honored to have talked to his mother on two occasions after he died and obtained some rare chapbooks he published. I wish I had gotten to speak to him; he died far too soon.
I bought this book in the 90's and I fell in love with it.. It takes you on a journey of a relationship from love at first sight to finally letting go.. he did not write these poems about one particular time in his life it is a collection that he put into a journey.. i love it amazing
A poetry book I bought back in high school on a whim from Goodwill. I have to say, that while I am picky with my poetry, I do love this book. The poems are just wonderful and I absolutely love the formatting of them. Definitely recommend.
I really love McWilliams poetry! He could say so much in just a few words. I’m glad that we still have this compilation hand picked by him to remember his work by. He had a very hard life and I hope that people will continue to discover him in the future as well.
Written by a man that has truly experienced love and heartbreak. This book has a great selection of poems. The style is simple, sometimes theatrical, and touching to which anyone who has ever been in love can relate.
