The Dark #3

Of Light and Dark

Rate this book
Lilly
I was the pawn in a game that began before I was born.

Secrets that drove a wedge between my family years ago are now the fuel that keeps me going. Decisions have become reckless. Trust is a fragile thing. Once it's broken, it's difficult to rebuild.

While Rhys and our love for each other has remained my constant, lines have blurred. The truth is not black and white, light and dark, but somewhere in between.

Rhys
Coming clean was never supposed to make Lilly a target.

But as obstacles try to drive us apart, what we’ve never questioned is that we're in this together.
Even if that means she runs, and I chase.

What a thrilling conclusion to Lilly and Rhys’ story! Of Light and Dark is by far the best book in the Dark Series so far. This book and series wrecked me in the best way possible. It had tear-inducing, heart-wrenching, waiting with bated breaths type of wreckage. I’m not even remotely close to being done thinking and obsessing about this book because it’s everything I could have hoped for in the conclusion of Lilly and Rhys’ story. Rest assured this series will be living rent-free in my mind for the foreseeable future.

We see a new side to so many characters. There were many characters I wasn’t the biggest fan of, but somehow through the epic events and revelations, Danah Logan made me fall in love with every single character. The overall story arc and character development through these three books are amazing. There were so many unpredictable twists and turns and every new twist left me gasping, shocked, and momentarily speechless. The build-up of suspense, intrigue, and mystery was awe-worthy, and I was not ready for the emotional rollercoaster this book took me on. My feelings ranged from excitement, heartbreak, love, sadness, burning anticipation, and betrayal. Compared to books 1 and 2 the action, excitement, and steaminess are tenfold.

I absolutely loved this book/series and I’m not sure if this review is doing the awesomeness of this series justice. I was very satisfied and happy with the conclusion of Lilly and Rhys’ story and the information we have right now. It is technically a HEA, but it left me wanting more. More of these characters, their friendship, and their sense of family. As Danah Logan warns, we get the answers to most of our burning questions, but she leaves us with brief hints and Easter eggs about what will happen in the other characters’ books in this series. After reading the sneak peek of Wes’s book my excitement for the next book in the Dark series has increased to astronomical levels. Danah Logan is an evil genius in the way she has plotted the Dark series and I can’t wait to see what jaw-dropping, awe-inducing twists and turns Danah has in store for us. This series is one of my top series of 2021!

Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Definitely deserving of over 5 stars!)

Of Light and Dark is the conclusion to Rhys & Lilly's story, and there's absolutely no way that you can start out with said conclusion. There's a lot that's happened to these two throughout three books, and since this new talent can write the hell out of suspense, the twists are coming in hot from all directions. There aren't mere bumps in the road, more like the earth opening up in front of them so my anxiety was sky high, especially since I couldn't figure out what was coming either. And it's not just the heart racing that I had or shocking moments, nope there's angst out the wazoo so my emotions were running amok, and frankly, I haven't gotten them corralled as of yet LOL! I will say that I'm going to go back & read all three books together one weekend soon to see what I may or may not have missed as I devoured each book like it was a very short story. And since I'm going to keep this review quite vague because I wouldn't want to ruin anything for anyone else, I'm telling you, you do NOT want to miss out on this debut trilogy by a brilliant new talent on the scene so get to one clicking! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wow.
I'm sitting here shell shocked.
This was a monster of a book and the perfect way to wrap up a trilogy that I didn't want to end.
Yet again I'm speechless of all that came to light. I might of guessed some but the depth of it, wow.
I actually don't know what to say which doesn't happen a lot.
Every single character goes through so much, yet again.
I don't think there's any words that can give this book/trilogy justice so instead I'll add this to my top reads of 21 list and insist that you ONE CLICK IMMEDIATELY!!!
Can't wait to see what's going on with Wes in the next book.

FYI, this review is for the whole set because once you read the first, you’ll NEED to read the rest 🙌🏼 trust me. You’ll not
only want to, but you’ll need to.

I devoured the first two books in one sitting, and only took a little longer with the third because of life circumstances. It kept me engaged throughout, always guessing who HE was and then when I thought I had it all figured out, the author drops another head scratcher on our lap! 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I consider myself to be pretty good at figuring out plots but this one kept me guessing, which is AMAZING.

The romance was a little light in the first book but it picks up by the second and by then I was so fully invested, that I wanted it all. These character are sure to love long beyond the pages of these books 🥰🥰 Swoon, Wes is mine.

Point blank, if you love suspense with a touch of romance then you definitely need this series in your life.

Book #3 of The Dark series is finally here and wow, just as the other two books previously packed a punch. Book #3 Of Light and Dark packed the biggest of all as Lily discovered that Nate aka, He hasn't been the only person watching her all this time but someone else and even more dangerous as this person has waited in the shadows till Lily's 18th birthday and once she has Lily's signature then Lily and the guy she has kept alive for the past 18 years will no longer have a reason to be alive, as they have served her purpose. This person is revealed in the book but for the most part, we know her simply as "Her". We also get answers about the reasons behind the constant cameras in the household from Tristan and learn about a tragedy that happened years earlier. Like the previous books we see Lily and Rhys being pulled from all over and they have this rocky turbulent relationship as Lily wants to be the savior and thinks keeping things quiet and away from others will keep them safe and then you have Rhys who thinks by being the strong alpha type is the way. I have to say, I do wonder what type of relationship they will have after all the drama has settled down as some relationships need the drama to thrive and survive on otherwise there is nothing left. I do like how this book makes way for Book #4 which will be the best friends tale. Overall, this was a good way to finish Book #3 of the Trilogy between Rhys and Lily and I look forward to the next part which hopefully will be less full-on and dramatic.

I didn't realise it was possible for a series to get even better....yet that's exactly what has happened with this the third and final book in Lilly and Rhys's story!

There is so much suspense, angst and twists in this story, book two literally left me with so many questions that i was desperate for the answers for! I just loved how Danah drip fed answers but at the same time created more suspense and emotion.....it was so well written and lets just say she certainly put these characters through the ringer before they got the HEA they deserved!
These characters have literally captured my heart and i cant believe it is now over!? Although their ending was just perfect!!

This has been an amazing series by a new author and i cant wait to see what we get next!

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review!

I don't even know where to begin. This third installment in this series is the best one yet. So much that you wanted to be answered is, and yet Danah left us wanting more, with clues that leave a lot left in the dark for us to discover.
Lilly and Rhys have their conclusion which Danah handled extraordinarily well, given they were still young adults when this book started. It doesn't feel rushed, forced, or out of character for the two.
In addition to the characters we met in books 1 and 2, we meet even more, which has me wanting the author to write for a long time coming.
There is so much I want to comment on, but I don't want this review to be a spoiler to readers. All I can say is the third book will keep you wanting more from this world. It will also leave you satisfied with all the things brought to light.
The plot over this series Danah handled beautifully. Danah took a three-book plot and brought us to a conclusion that will leave your mouth open in shock. You will scream at the book. If you're a crier, you will cry. Character development grew realistically over this story. Subplots that the author wanted to conclude in this story, she did finish them. She also left us with clues for stories to come.
While this review is short, I highly recommend this book and series. I will warn readers you need to read books 1 and 2 before reading this one. Otherwise, you will be lost. For a debut series, this one is a top read of 2021 for me. I give it five glorious pointe shoes for this series and book. Grab these books and be ready for a world that will have you in the dark reaching for the light.

The end of the trilogy where all doubts are finally resolved.
Lilly, tired and fed up with the pressure from journalists, the bullying she suffers at school and looking over her shoulder, moves to LA with her brother without saying anything to anyone.
Rhys is not at all happy with her decision and realizes that if they want their thing to work, they have to work more on communication. Which is another problem that Rhys seems to have with his parents since they know more than they say.
When the whole cake is discovered it is crazy. And although I already suspected who could be behind everything, I could not imagine what was still to be discovered.
A great discovery this author.

Of Light and Dark
(The Dark #3)
Written by: Danah Logan

The suspense in this book ran high right to the end and that is what keeps readers in their seats, flipping pages and muttering to themselves.

Of Light and Dark was a roller coaster ride of emotions not just for every single character but for readers as well. It is hard to believe that this journey was only nine months every incident, every chapter flew by.

If you had questions Author Danah Logan makes sure you leave with answers, well there might be one thread left hanging. Since the suspense in this series runs on the high side, I don’t feel I’m letting out any secrets.

This is truly a series where you need to start from book 1, Into the Dark and move on to book 2 Out of the Dark and end with this book 3 Of Light and Dark.
Author Danah Logan has given us a great story to read on your summer holidays.

Woow... what an AMAZING story... what a GREAT series!! 😍
Just when one mystery is solved, there is another one popping up! This story is filled with secrets and suspense.
When I started reading the first book, I thought these books would be dark(er). IMO, as a lover of dark reads, this isn't a really dark story. But it didn't matter!!! 😁 The story was so ingeniously put together... so many unexpected and unpredictable twists and turns.
You just cannot not love this story!!! 💖
It took 3 complete novels to get to a HEA for Lilly and Rhys; the road to the revelation of all the secrets was long... but so very well done! In the end everything came together beautifully, with no loose ends. What I really 'appreciated' was, that there was

I'm so glad that I was given the opportunity to read the three books back to back (thank you Danah Logan 😘 for the ARCs!), because there is happening sooo much in those 3 books, and everything is somehow connected. If I had to wait between books, I'm sure I would have lost track of things. So... if you have a crappy memory like me, I advise you not to wait too long before reading the next book(s) in this series.

And (I need to say it again!) knowing this is Danah Logan's debut series... I am impressed!! I'll definitely keep an eye out for the next books!

In the Dark (The Dark #1) by Danah Logan Out of the Dark (The Dark #2) by Danah Logan Of Light and Dark (The Dark #3) by Danah Logan Because of the Dark (The Dark #4) by Danah Logan

The very first sentence of the teaser at the end of the book: "My Harley Street Bob vibrates under me....." Da-yam!! 😍🖤

Who knows, maybe this is the only time we read about the motorcycle, 😉 but 'de toon is gezet'. 🥰 As an Harley lover, and MC books being one of my favorite genres, that sentence is a perfect start of Wes's story!!

I received this as an ARC for an honest review.  I loved this one it was a perfect wrap up. When you think it was going to go one way it made a 360 turn. You could not help but to fall in love with the characters.  My favorite character is Nate, yes he might have his faults but he has an amazing brother. Book 3 had a nice wrap up for Lily & Rhys. Once I started reading, I knew that I was hooked and wanted to read more, I cannot wait to read. The cover of the book drew me in then I read the synopsis and I fell in love with the book. This series will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more.

What an amazing series this has been so far 👏👏👏👏👏

I loved seeing how much Rhys and Lilly grew personally and as a couple. Especially their moments of strength with equal amounts of vulnerability throughout all that they faced. There was so much they couldn’t control but together they got through it.......eventually because when I say it gets worse before it gets better, IT GETS WORSE!

The suspense and plot twists were EPIC!!! And I loved how this book maintained it’s unpredictable edge while still making complete sense when all was revealed.

And that ending 😍
It wrapped up perfectly for Rhys and Lilly and now I cannot wait for everyone else’s books.

What a ride this series has been! So many thrilling twists and turns. Lilly is constantly assaulted with new information about her past, and Rhys sticks by her side to see her through. Most of our questions are answered in this conclusion to Lilly's story. More books are coming, and I am excited to find the answers to the few questions that were left unanswered. Kudos to the author for a very well done debut series. 👏

4.5 stars. What an addictive trilogy that got even better with every book. Whatever that had already been happening in the previous books was simply the tip of the iceberg leading to so much more. I loved how the layers were uncovered and how the characters weren't always so black and white in terms of their moral fiber. Lilly has gotten the worst side of the fallout in all directions and yet she keeps her head high. Still, I liked seeing her vulnerable moments, too, and recognizing that Rhys has a threshold as well. Between the nonstop secrets and surprises, I couldn’t put this down. I was completely onboard with Lilly and her friends and family coming out on the other side unscathed. Rhys and Lilly have always had a strong connection and chemistry, so while they are the very definition of relationship goals with unconditional moral support, I actually loved that this wasn’t a steam fest book and focused on how they weather the tough times together as a team. There was certainly no shortage of challenges they faced, including life and death danger. Lilly and Rhys fought an uphill battle for their hard earned happiness and there are others who await their own happiness, hopefully someday in future books. If you're looking for a series that offers dark themes, suspense, hidden twists, multi-faceted characters and a wild ride of a journey about a girl who discovers an entire past that she didn't know about and a future she never dared to dream she could have, look no further.

I spent the better part of a road trip telling my bff about the first book in this series and I was nearly half way through the second book. I raved how I loved the twists and turns and I broke down for her how I thought the books were going to continue. Namely, who Her was. She would stop me and ask questions and ask me to rewind a bit and go over different parts again. Then I would remember something I forgot and then would have to tell the parts that were related to the newly remembered part again. It was a great way spend a boring trip. I mean we sang and reminisced and laughed the whole way there, it was only fitting to talk about this dynamic series on the way back. Well it turns out I was wrong. But it was an extremely good fake out by the author. Leaving all the little fake Easter eggs along the way mixed in with some real ones. Like stealing Bobo. Like getting into the Hamlin house and through security. Like the McGuires knowing what they knew all along. Regardless of everything, this is a heart stopping adventure, start to finish. But I still wonder, who was Gray asking Lilly to take care of until he crosses paths with Lilly again? There’s no mention. It’s the little things like that that will keep me up nights lol. Loved this series in a big way!!

Like the first two books, this one has crazy twists and turns that you don’t see coming. There were moments where my jaw actually dropped, and my heart raced. The ending was tied up perfectly for Lilly and Rhys and I can truly say I didn’t see it coming. This was an amazing, suspenseful ride with the perfect amount of romance weaved in! I can’t wait to read the upcoming books for the side characters!

The Grand 'insert the jaw hanging' Finale!

Of Light and Dark is the third and final installment in The Dark Series and must be read after books #1 and #2. It was a H.E.L.L. of a ride, a sinuous journey for Lilly and Rhys as well as for the other characters in the story that are protagonists in their own right. Full of tension, strained situations, dangerous circumstances and key players with different agendas, it's a very complete suspense romance that keeps the reader guessing and committed to the intrigue. Ingeniously written, the plot thickens and besides some findings, the questions keep pilling: with a very inventive strategy and lots of details, Danah Logan creates a web of secrets and manipulation - a direct result from unknown feuds and events - where scattered families try to reunite and the villains are ready to take it all. I must confess my mind worked in a different way and the revelation was a big surprise! Near the end, the culprit was uncovered and out of the way, but we can't forget how burdensome the impact was for those involved since the beginning and that note in Lilly's pocket.....it opens a new window for another great mystery.
I hope it won't be too long for Wes' time to play........ So excited for his tale!!!

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

One hell of an amazing story!

WOW! I now need to pick my jaw up off the floor after finishing this INCREDIBLE story! I thought the first two books made my emotions go haywire but DAMN the conclusion of Lilly and Rhys’ story literally BLEW MY MIND INTO COMPLETE SMITHEREENS!

The intensity has been kicked up a whole hell of a lot and I was not ready for how it was going to affect my emotions. I laughed, I cried a lot and I caught myself gasping for breath! The bomb dropping revelations had me gipping my kindle tightly in utter shock and yelling at the unbelievable tragedy unfolding in front of my eyes. It felt like I was slowly being given some of the answers to my questions intravenously as they were being dripped into the story one drop at a time! I think I bit every one of my fingernails off with how potent and extraordinary this story is.

Twisted, suspenseful, emotional and with such a fantastic ending that it leaves you craving more from these amazing characters.

I am not going to give anything away as this series deserves to be read going in blind. Not knowing anything about it will make it one hell of an experience for every reader – it’s that good. This amazing author has just blown all others stories out of the water. My top 2021 favorite series by far!

Absolutely brilliantly written with outstanding characters that will forever capture your heart and soul, and a plot that is so thick and so twisted that you will be blown away at every turn of the page.

That is an amazing ending that i read, holy smokes this book got my heartbeat all sorts of feels which were heartbreak, excitement, betrayal, needy, action, and adorable, and love. Lilly, Nate, and Rhys so much stuff happen in the third book and it does go down very much. Lilly and Rhys glad they get their happy ending and very much glad what happened in the end. Nate, he is such a good older brother even there is a darkness inside of me, and being honest I hope he gets a happy ending he needs so maybe a book for him?? I would like to say thank you very much and very much enjoyed this trilogy and it did pull on my heartstrings very much and got me in a frozen state and my mouth dropped.

Received an ARC and my own honest opinions.

What an amazing conclusion in Rhys and Lilly's trilogy!

Each book built upon the next and each page had me NEEDING to know what was happening next. I thought I had an idea of who the HER was and Danah took me on a ride (in the best way possible) with the emotional background involved with Lilly and Her. The suspense and angst had me finding any spare minute possible in my day (even a work haha) to get more pages in.

Lilly and Rhys had to work so fricking hard for their HEA. I enjoyed George showing emotions and other members of Rhys and Lilly's worlds growing and showing different sides of them. I feel that all of the characters in the story, even with seemingly minor roles grew throughout this series.

This is a series that I know I will read again this summer! Job freaking well done, Danah!

OMG…I loved the conclusion to Rhys and Lilly’s story! Just when you think that everything is okay, it takes an amazing twist that leaves you reeling. As Lilly continues to learn more about her past, Rhys proves to be the perfect person for her. Allowing her to grow and accept her past, as well as allowing us to catch up! I have to say that Danah Logan’s debut series has been a wonderful entrance to the literary world. I honestly didn’t know if Danah would be able to tie up all of the loose strings before the end and allow us a conclusion for all of the characters that we could all live with, but I think that she was very successful in the endeavor.

Seriously, give this trilogy a shot. You will not be disappointed!

I am looking forward to seeing some of the side characters get their own stories!
