Co-owner of Dream Vistas Ranch, Malin Langstrom’s life changed the day she suffered at the hands of a bank-robbing crew. Remembering the intense man who prepared to help during the robbery often calms her fears. Previously outgoing, she became reclusive and fearful of being in the company of strangers. After a month of therapy sessions, she still has panic attacks over the painful incident. On her therapist’s recommendation, she investigates getting a therapy dog and is thrilled at the identity of the dog trainer.
To keep others safe during the same bank robbery, experienced dog handler Tag Redmond laid low--a difficult task for an ex-Army Ranger. A month later, he struggles with how he failed to stop the pretty blonde from being abducted. Running into her following a line-up of possible suspects gives him the chance to introduce himself, only to discover someone is following Malin. This time, Tag vows he’ll be there to help and convinces Hank Patterson that Malin should be his first assignment for Brotherhood Protectors.
Learning how to handle her new therapy dog means Malin spends days near this mountain of a man with a soft heart for canines. Just when she’s emerging from her shell, she discovers her cabin has been broken into, throwing her life into chaos. Determined not to let Malin pull away, Tag enlists her help on a rescue mission of his own. In close proximity on a road trip, they give in to their fierce attraction. When the remaining suspects attempt to silence Malin for good, will Tag thwart the abduction and save the woman who has stolen his heart?

About the author

Layla Chase

The combination of years spent working with words in the secretarial field and a love of reading romances sparked Layla’s initial urge to write. Add to that the experience of reaching a landmark birthday, and you might say a mid-life crisis was born. Relocating from her native California to Texas in 2000 provided more time to focus on the craft. A direct challenge form a critique partner turned Layla’s writing toward the sensual side and she hasn’t looked back since. Writing erotic romance allows her to spread her creative wings and let her imagination take off.

Multi-published in historical, paranormal and contemporary, Layla’s sexy stories are mixed with a bit of humor or a tug of emotion, but always have a happy ending.

Layla lives in south Texas with her engineer husband and teenage daughter. Her other three children are scattered up and down California and having adventures of their own. When not writing or plotting her next story, she spends time reading, watching movies and traveling (so many possible locales for the next adventure).

Fantastic Story

Ranger Loyalty has to be one of my favorite additions to the Brotherhood Protectors series. You have Tag Redmond and his dog trainee Pixie who is learning to become a therapy dog. They happen upon a bank robbery but its Malin Langstrom who will be taken hostage. She's one of three sisters who run a Dream Vistas guest ranch. Even when she's released it will take a month of therapy to get beyond the panic and anxiety attacks.

Although they meet during robbery where Malin Tag still wants to get to know her and help if he can because he knows how PTSD is because he was a K9 handler during his time in the Army. Tag's been offered a job with the Brotherhood Protectors so when she's followed home after a trip into tour he doesn't hesitate to ask Hank and the team for Malin to be his first assignment. But on a road trip to San Antonio to pick up Dex, Tag's last MWD she'll find Pixie is a big part of her recovery.

But when the last two robbers decides to come onto the sister's ranch it'll be all hands on deck from the Protectors including Dex who was let them know of a bomb to finally take down the last two men and also bring Tag and Malin together.

ENTERTAINING AND ADDICTIVE DRAMA

This story opens with Tag out working and training two therapy dogs. Next scene, when he enters a bank, a robbery occurs. Unfortunately he isn't in any position to respond other than offering support and comfort to some of the other bank customers. Once the robbers leave, he immediately follows as they took a hostage. As a result of her abduction, Malin suffers from PTSD and can't stand to be touched. Tag and Malin are reunited when a couple of the robbers are arrested; but unfortunately that puts her at risk. As their relationship grows, so does the suspense mount as Malin starts to acquire skills to make her less of a victim. Romance blooms. A tense scene with bomb threats and robbers finally close at hand to attempt a kidnapping. Many prizes with a fun and entertaining conclusion.

Really loved this book. Malin and Tag met at a bank briefly. Tag had to beagle he was training as assistance dogs and Malin was waiting in line at the bank. Some men came in to rob the bank. In the process Malin was taken as a hostage and manhandled and pulled by her long hair into their truck. Tag tried to stop them but they got away. So they work together to try to get her more comfortable with the help of the dogs. Tag was a dog handler while in the war. This book has a lot of action and Malin trying to get her mojo back. Excellent read.

Good read

Malin met Tag when they were both in the bank while it was being robbed. Malin was working on a resort with her sisters. Tag was trying to get his therapy dog business to going. Both still had issues left over from the robbery. Malik was especially tense since she was used as a shield.

As a survivor, I had a few issues with this book, but for most... it wasn't a dealbreaker. I encourage authors to talk to survivors when they choose to write books like this so that representations can be supportive and honoring, while still being marketable and enjoyable.
