Things are getting intense in the Near Systems!!

When Cassius Calvetti, the head of The Scattered rebel faction, escapes from a Capital prison, Olivia Guisette, an Intelligence agent and the right-hand woman of High Councilor Tarand, is hot on her tail.

Through Skelm, Terringgough Gulch, Bradach, and a previously unknown Obsidian Enclave base, Olivia and Cass are two enemies who find themselves closer than either of them expected.

A mole starts up an inter-faction war, one of our favourites gets kidnapped, another goes AWOL, and one more has to remain with Obsidian Enclave when her lover is badly injured. With a weapon that can destroy entire settlements in the wrong hands, things can't get much worse.

I am anxiously awaiting the final book in this series, though I don't know what I'll do after it's done and I can no longer get my Cricket fix 😭😭

Fantastic installment in an epic series

I picked up Deus Ex Mechanic completely on a whim, never really expecting I'd fall in love with this series...now, here I am with the final book in my Kindle queue and it's very bittersweet. This large ensemble cast--especially the Cricket crew, of course--have become like family and even as I'm anxious to find out what happens, I'm reluctant to be so close to the end of the story they're sharing with me.

I really liked the cat and mouse and hate/love relationship between Olivia and Cass for much of the book. And I thought no one was as unlikeable as Allemande, but here she takes a step back so we can see Councilor Tarand in all her horrible glory. Now that was a truly grating, unpleasant character.

Looking forward to Era's End, even though it's going to mean I'll have to find another series to fall in love with.

Let's get it going!! Final volume coming up!

Another exceptional read! I can't wait to see what happens in the final book. What will happen to everyone? Where will they go? Will they all fight? I'm pumped about it.
