Atsushi Ōkubo ( 大久保篤), also romanized as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his work on the manga series Soul Eater, which has been adapted into an anime. Okubo worked as an assistant under Rando Ayamine, on the manga series Get Backers. He also created artwork for various cards for the Lord of Vermillion game.
Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.
This manga does 'fast-pace' and 'action-packed' excellently, since the beginning Fire Force excelled with it All te fight scenes in this volume are amazing and some of the chapters has incredible art. The sad thing is that with each volune you feel a 'finality' in the story, the series is coming to an end and even though i'm not a super-duper fan of it, i'm having a blast.
There are three fights going around and they are all great but i'm more interesting in two of them because they involve my two favourite characters. One of them is Ogun and that one was kinda expected to go the way it did because of his adversary. And the other one is Arthur and that fight looks kike it's gonna be a hell of a match.
Wyruszają więc oni do Amaterasu, gdzie stawią oni czoła najgroźniejszym przeciwnikom.
It was a pretty good volume overall. I can say that the book is split into three main parts: The battle against Charon, Dragon versus Arthur, and finally Giovanni, Vulcan and others regarding Amaterasu's secrets. Charon is a brilliant character because he is usually morally gray. He is not a total villain like some characters in the series but he is not totally a good guy as well, being allies with the Evangelists and all. The fight between Dragon and Arthur is one of the most anticipated fights in the series. The whole part with Vulcan and Giovanni is also important for the story. Consequently, it was a good volume and I actually liked it.
Learning more about Ogun and how he became friends with Arthur and Shirna was really sweet especially seeing even after the rumors about Shinra being a mother killing devil were being spread he still stood by Shinra was really nice and shows how much of a good character Ogun is. And we learn more about how humans got to the area of the Tokyo Empire and it is always nice to learn more about the history especially how it helps develop the characters. And also learning more about the Evangelists and it's plans was also really fascinating and Giovanni just keeps getting creepier with each appearance and the fight between him and Vulcan was pretty cool.
The standoff at Amaterasu to prevent the Great Cataclysm from happening is underway. Ogun is fighting Charon. Arthur is holding out to face Dragon again. Vulcan has a run in with an old enemy. Which leaves everyone else to take care of the army of infernals. Let's go Fire Force! Meanwhile, Shinra, Sho, and Sister Iris are still missing, stuck in between reality and Adolla.
The stackes are getting higher and higher. The lore is sometinhg delightful. Simple as that. It's vrey profound, researched and well thought. The fights are getting GoT levels, with ppl diying more and more easily... It's a volume withou our MC Shinra and you don't even notice.
This was very frenetic!!! Loved to see Ogun in action, I wish we could’ve seen more of him throughout the story. Can’t wait to see the outcome of Arthur’s fight and the end was great.
