I just finished the first season of the anime, and after completely falling in love with the story—seriously, it’s the most adorable, wholesome, and cute show in the entire world—I knew I couldn’t wait for the second season to be released, so I had to continue the story with the manga. Now I can’t wait to spend my entire weekend binging the whole thing.

IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO END ON THIS KIND OF CLIFFHANGER!!

And to think that I read this volume literally within minutes of checking my mail and now I have to wait until OCTOBER for the next volume?! GAH, TOO LONG OF A WAIT!!

BUT THIS WAS SO GOOD!

One thing that super stood out to me is that despite what Oushi did in this volume, my view of him has really changed, and LOVED seeing him look out for Yuki in his own way. Granted, he's SUPER wrestling with himself in "looking out" for her, but I think it's easier to like him than it was at the beginning because we actually see that internal struggle. I'm still a hardcore Yuki and Itsuomi shipper, but I hope he does have a happy ending too. <3

I like the side focus a little bit with Emma! She's not my favorite character because Itsuomi is Yuki's man, but I'm also hoping she gets her own happy ending. I admire the guy chasing after her!

THE SWOON IS REAL ONCE AGAIN!! Truly, there were some VERY swoonworthy moments in this one, and could not help but squeal and blush right along with Yuki! LOL! The art continues to be gorgeous and I JUST NEED VOLUME SEVEN NOW PLEASE!

Continuing to HIGHLY recommend this series! I'll be rereading it again because I love these two so much and it's been FAR too long since we last had a volume!!

Whoof! This series has gotten so boring I'm surprised I stayed awake through this volume. The leads have no chemistry and the romantic complications are barely there road bumps that still manage to slow the story even more.

-first off, Emma, you are annoying tf out of me and it is on sight if you don’t stop acting like a child. He don’t want you babe, never did, but yet Shin does and you don’t care? Shin is AMAZING, you are lucky he even still wants you after your unrequited crush on Itsu, be so fr.

- Oushi, you’re still on my nerves, but this volume did make me understand you a bit more. You still need to chill my guy, but you’re not on my list any longer.

-Yuki, I love that she is trying to be less nervous and is finally starting to accept that Itsu does in fact want to be with her. She deserves the world and he seems like he wants to give it to her.

- Itsu, I loved learning more about him in this volume, there are still some mysteries there but I can’t wait until he opens up more.

- Yuki & Itsu together? Ahhhhhhhhhh. Omg I am obsessed, I love them so much. 😍

Trigger Warnings:FMC hasn’t been able to hear since she was born

We are finally caught up with the anime! Starting from this volume, I have no idea what is gonna happen. Not gonna lie, this volume fell a bit flat for me since it focused on the side characters more. I still love Yuki and Itsu though, they are so cute. Imma copy and paste the stuff I said in my other review so I can get to spoilers: Our FMC is deaf, I’m not sure if it is a trigger but I have added it just in case. The authors seem to have put a lot of research and the sign language is in Japanese. They have a whole process of how they figure out the sign language aspect of the manga which I found fascinating. The anime did a good job animating the sign language. Especially the different tones of sign language, some being soft and graceful while others are harsh and straightforward. I LOVE our FMC Yuki, she knows what she wants and goes for it. And Itsuomi our MMC has so much rizz, the guy is so handsome and dreamy. Some people have mixed thoughts on his actions but I personally think this guy is a walking green flag. They both communicate so there is drama but not as much as other mangas, this is more cute. Please do yourself a favour and watch the anime. Then come back and read the manga so we can fangirl together.


Yuki runs into Itsuomi in the subway and after a helpful interaction, she can’t get him off her mind. When she realizes the guy is someone in her friend’s class, she gets to know him.

Now for spoilers


Yuki and Itsu head home from their date and the bus is crowded. Itsu backs Yuki into the subway wall and asks if she feels like she is suffocating. Yuki is flustered and notices girls are also flustered by Itsu, she can’t blame them. He asks what Yuki is thinking about and she says it is a secret and he asks her what it is but she doesn’t tell him. When she gets home, she reads Itsu’s message. He talks about moving to Germany when he was 6 and he loved riding trains and airplanes. But he felt left out in school since he didn’t know the language. When he was 7, he took the plane with his dad and it changed his life, he doesn’t elaborate. We see a cute Itsu as a child who sits alone trying to learn German. When a soccer ball comes near him, a kid talks to him in German asking him to pass the ball. Itsu wants to play and uses his courage to speak in German, saying he wants to join. The kid was Johannes and they are close friends til this day. Ever since then, he found learning languages fun since you are able to get your message across. He was fascinated by differently cultures and languages, hoping to learn more. Someday he wants to teach children abroad and Yuki wonders what their future looks like. Itsu says that after he came back to Japan, no matter how many places he goes, he wants to get to know Yuki more. He doesn’t care if it is hours or a couple of minutes, he wants to spend it with Yuki. He says he loves Yuki and boy I don’t know how this man nonchalantly typed and moved on with the date. Yuki wants to ask him more of what happened on his 7th birthday.


At school, Oushi is with his 2 friends and says he has a crush on a pretty girl. He doesn’t tell them who and they see Emma there. They say she is pretty and see Emma approach Itsu. Everyone isn’t surprised all the girls want Itsu but Oushi watches closely. When Emma puts her hand on Itsu, I love that Itsu moved his arm away. Emma says she wants to talk to him and the whole time, Itsu seems uninterested and annoyed. I loved that he didn’t seem friendly or entertain the idea since he knew Emma had feelings for her. Emma takes him to an arcade and Oushi is bothered that Itsu is seeing someone, wondering if Yuki is a side chick to him. At the arcade, Emma plays games while Itsu asks why she wants to talk to him. Emma says that she knows he has a girlfriend and asks if it was the girl she saw in his apartment. Itsu says yes and Emma asks if they met in college and Itsu says that she is a bit younger but yes. Emma is offended, asking why he went for a junior and shit. She seemed so pathetic, she was throwing a tantrum over him liking someone else while Itsu just wanted to leave. She found him attractive and girl I agree, he has the rizz and the looks, but jaysus leave him alone. She thinks that even if he says her name all annoyed, she likes the way he says it. Itsu says that they never have real conversations since she doesn’t act real in front of him. Emma says it is because she is nervous around him but Itsu says she acts normal around Shin. Before, Emma was okay with Itsu rejecting her since he seemed like he wouldn’t settle down. But now she is upset to see him with someone. She says that he never went out with any other girls, how she has liked him for so long. Itsu says that he politely turned her down each time, I like how he was no bullshit with this. Itsu even says that there is no one for him but Yuki, his feelings for Yuki are deep. At one point his face softens and Emma realized he was thinking about Yuki. When Emma tries to get Itsu to play a game and win a stuffed animal for her, he tells her to do it herself. But Emma knows that Shin would do it in a heartbeat, and she wonders why she is thinking about him.


Oushi is at the park upset that he saw Itsu with Emma, thinking he might be cheating. But he knows that he just wants to find dirt on Itsu to get with Yuki and feels bad about it. It was raining and he was lost in thought about missing out on Yuki despite having so many opportunities alone with her. Yuki appears with an umbrella, she asks him why he is sitting outside in the rain. She asks if he is okay and he takes the umbrella and holds it while they walk. Yuki tries to pick up his bag but he does it for her. He says that Yuki is precious to him or something and Yuki is confused. He debates on telling her about Itsu and Emma but knows that it will hurt Yuki. So he stops himself and while walking, he hugs her close. Yuki is confused and I didn’t like that he did this. Any time he got physical with Yuki, she normally brushed him off. So I don’t know why he did this especially since he knows she is dating someone and never showed him signs of interest. He lets go but Yuki wonders if he has feelings for her cuz of the way he is acting. Emma is at home when her friend Lala shows up (yea that’s her name lmao). Lala tells Emma to cheer up about Itsu getting a girlfriend and says that Shin is a good guy in her life. She says Shin used to sleep around and even rejected her at some point but he is always available to hang out with Emma. I like that she mentioned Itsu always turned girls down, he looks like a playboy but isn’t. Emma is upset about Itsu and Shin appears while Lala leaves. Shin asks Emma if they could be friends but Emma doesn’t want things to go back to before. He thought maybe someday Itsu and Emma might date but now that Itsu is with someone, he wants to just be honest with his feelings for Emma. Emma covers her face in a towel and feels flustered, she hasn’t seen him since the day he confessed to her. Shin asks if they can start as friends and go from there and Emma is flustered. I genuinely do not care about these two, Emma is so whiny and annoying and Shin is just boring.


Yuki is at home wondering if she should tell Itsu about Oushi’s hug. Itsu texts Yuki that he is done work and tells Yuki that Emma met him at school. He told her they talked for an hour at an arcade since she wanted to hear about him dating Yuki. I liked how he told Yuki right away and was hoping Yuki would do the same. Itsu got concerned about Yuki’s reaction and video calls Yuki, asking if she is okay. Yuki says she trusts Itsu and wants to tell him about Oushi but decides she would tell him in person. Itsu says that he is going for drinks with his friends the next day but was wondering if he can meet Yuki. She says yes and he says they can leave his place together in the morning and go to class together. Yuki is shocked, she realized that she is spending the night, but she is down. Her brother comes in the middle asking for a charger and Itsu is surprised she lives with her brother. He says he wants to meet her brother sometime and Yuki thinks they will get along. It was so cute how Itsu always calls Yuki cute. Yuki says that Itsu is handsome and he asks her what part. Yuki gets flustered and says everything but Itsu tells her to be specific. She says she will tell him later and he says he will tell her later too. Oushi calls Itsu to try to talk about Emma or Yuki and Itsu doesn’t give him much of a reaction. He got Itsu’s number since he slipped it in his clothes while he was drunk, leaving a note to anyone who finds Oushi to call him lmao.


Yuki waits for Itsu the next day and some guys call her cute. Yuki doesn’t hear them while these assholes are pissed she isn’t answering. The main guy is wearing glasses and is annoyed Yuki doesn’t answer him. He grabs Yuki saying she could at least respond while Yuki is confused. The guy sees Yuki’s earbuds saying that is the reason she can’t hear him. Itsu grabs the guy’s hand, saying that Yuki is wearing hearing aids like he has glasses. He doesn’t let go of the guy’s hand but they say they get it and leave. Itsu’s hair is done differently, he has it tied back, the guy looks good in any way. He is drunk and Yuki thinks he looks cute and handsome. He asks if Yuki is okay and takes her bags from her while holding her hand in the other. He takes her to his apartment and Yuki finds it cute to see him drunk for once while Itsu says he never wanted her to see him this way. He was with his friend who got dumped and drank with him. Itsu drinks water and eats a bit, then he goes to lie down on the couch. Yuki isn’t sure what to do and Itsu tells her to lie down with him. He sits up and Yuki hugs him, she isn’t sure what to do. Itsu says its bold of her to hug him when he thought she would sit next to him. Yuki signs that she wants to get used to not being nervous and Itsu says that there is stuff that she has to get used to around him, finding it amusing. He pinches her cheek for a kiss and asks if she doesn’t want this. He leans in but he doesn’t kiss her, Yuki realized that he wants her to initiate. She misses his lips but they end up kissing. It ends right there and Imma just say I didn’t expect things to get heated up so fast like hot damn.


At the end we get a bonus snippet of what happened 6 months before Itsu met Yuki. He came back from Germany and Kyo brought Itsu food while Shin does Itsu’s hair. Itsu debates on what style to do for him while Itsu is good with anything. Shin gives him the silver hair cut and everyone thinks this suits Itsu best. They ask Itsu what he wants to do as a “Welcome home to Japan” kinda thing. Itsu says they already welcomed him home since Kyo gave him something to eat and Shin did his hair. Shin and Kyo hug Itsu, so cute, I love their friendship.

*squeal* gosh that ending got me! This volume was just as adorable as the other ones and I am happy. We got more scenes of Yuki navigating the world around her and seeing some of the challenges that she faces. I’m definitely hoping that we’re going to get more in future volumes as the story progresses. I am so excited to pick up the next volume and I am going to be really sad when I reach the point where there is no more new volumes currently available!

the relationship development is so freaking good in this series!! it feels really realistic and it's so soft and wholesome!!! itsuomi is a whole green forest 🥹 he's truly the perfect mmc and so loyal and kind. and yuki is the most adorable person ever and i just want to hug her 😭 she's such a precious baby 💞

the communication between them surprises me so much!! honestly impressed with how the om/ow drama has been handled so far. i originally did not vibe with oushi but i loved how he stopped himself from interfering in yuki and itsuomi's relationship and accepted that they are together, and that itsuomi better not her hurt. he definitely won me over a bit by trying to protect her rather then trying to break them up for himself.

BUT how oushi embraced yuki under that umbrella like this.....there is definitely more drama to come. but we know yuki/itsuomi are all about eachother only, so it doesn't bother me much.

En tout cas on continue de découvrir de nouvelles facettes de la personnalité d’Itsuomi et c’est trop mignon parce que plus on avance et plus j’aime ce que je découvre chez lui.
J’attends quand même d’en découvrir un peu plus sur Yuki, elle est encore sur la réserve même si elle prend ses marques petit à petit dans cette relation

Am I crazy? Is that it? I don't like that she's so "understanding". He asks her out, immediately goes over seas for a month, as soon as he comes back, he's introducing her to his friends, who talk about other girls right in front of her (but it's okay because she's deaf), they only go on one date since he came back, this whole time he's not respecting her boundaries even after continuously showing that she's uncomfortable with kissing, he fucks off, gets drunk with his friends and then tries makes out with her...... ?????????????????? THIS IS ROMANTIC?! If that were my boyfriend, I would have dumped him the second he went on a tour after asking me out. For a MONTH?! I don't care if he's "omg so hot~" fuck out of here.
I'm sorry this is not a constructive review, but I haven't been this mad since Vampire Knight (justice for Zero).

Itsuomi è veramente sexy, c'è poco da fare!! Poi quando lega i capelli... Mille punti allo stile della mangaka!
La scenografia rende la storia lenta, ma capisco che ci sia l'intenzione di adattarsi alla calma che circonda Yuki. Anche se poi, boom! Arrivano dichiarazioni all'improvviso! (All'inizio non avevo capito se fosse vero o un pensiero di Yuki, la grafica mi ha confusa).
Emma mi ha un po' rotto le scatole. Ce la scolliamo di dosso?
