Business Law: The Ethical, Global, and E-Commerce Environment

Rate this book
Mallor, Barnes, Bowers and Langvardt’ Business The Ethical, Global, and E-Commerce Environment, 14e is appropriate for the two-term business law course. The cases in the 14th edition are excerpted and edited by the authors. The syntax is not altered, therefore retaining the language of the courts. As in recent previous editions, the 14th edition includes a mix of actual AND hypothetical cases.

You don't really need to buy this newest version to do well in the class. I bought the older version for only $10, whereas this one is $100+. It is about the same except the introductory cases in the beginning of each chapter. This book is a good overview of law. The reading can be kind of boring due to the detailed text (I skipped all of the cases), but it is useful. There is a chapter about business law for professionals like accountants, consultants, etc., another chapter about the differences of different entities (LLP, Limited, Sole proprietorship, etc.), & the last chapter about environmental law that I found the most interesting.

Definitely a good book to get started with business law. Had to read this for my class and the workbook is worth it for really learning the material. I love how it uses current cases to show how the law works and to bring it into perspective.

And this would be why I'm not reading more fiction books from my "to read" list.....

And I'm done! Finished the class. This book was actually fairly easy to read considering it contains so much techincal information and some of the subjects are pretty dry.

I got through about half (that was all that was required for my Business Law course). I'd dare say that it almost made me want to be a lawyer.

[Textbook] We read large chunks of this massive tome for my MBA Business Law course. The text is well-written and the case examples are engaging. Might actually keep this one.

I bought this used for $40, so no textbook price blues on this one. I'm going to keep it and use it as a reference guide for the rest of my life.
