Not to self Apparently my long term love for JS as a safe author in down the drain.
This book has 2/extremely explicit sex scenes with the man who is the H and his wife. Dirty nasty sex in detail while he is enjoying it and in full lust w his wife.
He is the H cause future books have him as the H
The h is in his life investigating so yeah
After this book he is with the h…. Really JS what happened to you. I’m sad that I can no longer read this author.
He past men would never have touched OW after meeting the h. NEVER.
Wowzers. This was a read. I’m still processing this. 😵💫🤣. I found it highly entertaining. This is pure escapism for me. I actually think she did a good job with the mystery! All the players were in the book from the start; I hate when it’s some random killer who you never met until the MCs solve the mystery. There were clues that pointed you in the direction but it also wasn’t super obvious and she gave you enough to keep you guessing on how it all went down.
I was also majorly horrified. There’re the typical Jordan Silver scenes in here that make you ask yourself the question: “is this author really a man?”
I am not a fan of detailed on page sex scenes between characters who are not currently MCs. It just rubs me the wrong way and I don’t find it hot. Oh boy, we get so much of that here.
The ending. Holy crap! That ending was enthralling!! I was barely blinking. Is he about to go all dark noncon on her?? Is it going to be enough to make me forget that I read two incredibly detailed cringey sex scenes with him and his wife?? 🤷🏻♀️
I’m going to try book two to find out though! I’m not sure that I’ll be able to shake the image of him kissing his wife after he stuck his dick in her butt and then her mouth though especially once he starts kissing the h.
Honestly, I kind of felt like I was reading some weird vintage dark 70s porn. There’re some interesting vibes going on here but none of them are romantic by any definition of the word.
Loved this! It was a different book to what Jordan Silver normally writes but it was great! It definitely kept you guessing! Can’t wait for the next book!
Excellent whodunnit! A bit predictable from the beginning, curious on where it was going to land. My only problem was the layout. There were many characters talking and thinking with no indication when it changed.
This is not the typical Jordan silver book. It was a good storyline with good characters but there was none of the dominance and alpha male, sexy take charge stories that I'm used to. I didn't like it at all.
I hate it when Ms.Silver makes some scenes vague, and we have to guess the storyline. Imo, at the end, This book (series) looked like it's gonna be like The Nocturnal Series by Ms.Silver. We'll get the main problem "solved," but we won't get complete endings for some characters or some side plots.
Okay I’m officially blown away, in an amazing way! Okay I’ve been a HUGE JS fan. And I’ve loved ALL works of hers. And this story is no different. It’s just as amazing as each of her works and yet she’s placed an extra ‘mystery’ topping on the delicious twists and turns of her decadent dessert 🍮 of her creations that left me even more awestruck of her beautiful creative mind! And starving for more! Thank you ☺️ JS for growing beautifully as a writer ✍️ who always delivers for your fans! Beautiful 🦋💕😌🥰🫶🏻
This book is so full of grammatical errors that I wanted to bang my head against the wall. The author has absolutely zero understanding of basic English. There were topological errors, spelling mistakes and at one point this author managed to forget the name of the main detective. This book was I believe published without an editor proof reading it. The end result is this crap. The story itself was not bad. Hence the two stars. I will read its sequel as I think there's more to this story than meets the eye. Let's hope it reads better.
The start of the book was not what I was expecting and was an unnecessary sex scene. The story jumped around and a lot of it didn’t make sense. Whoever proofread the writing did a terrible job. There were at least a dozen times the wrong pronoun or name was used. I had to reread those sections to see what was really meant. It was annoying. The end was horrible and stupid. They want us to read book two but no thank you! I couldn’t wait to finish this book and I will never read this author again. This book was horrible.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I hate books that end in a cliffhanger. I try not to start continuing books; the cliffhanger pisses me off. I'm glad all three books are already finished. I like the this author writes, simple, to the point, and with a big dose of humor. It's starts off with good sex and then the female gets kill. The author keep you wondering and the clues fall together and leads us straight to the killer. Read this book,it won't let you down.
I had high hopes going into this book based on the reviews but was sorely disappointed. I nearly stopped reading several times (especially after the first couple of typos), but persevered. In a nutshell, the characters were unlikeable, the plot was mediocre, the writing was lacklustre, and the ending was ridiculously far-fetched.
There are a lot of positive reviews for this book, so maybe I'm missing something. Take my review with a grain of salt!
This is a different JS book. Good mystery with some twists and turns. Looking forward to see how Cecilia and Riley get on in next book.
I almost didn’t read this book as some comments said it ended on cliffy. But it’s not really a cliff hanger. Mystery was solved . It just ended with the reader wanting more of the characters and want to get to next book .
Oh and reader beware - one really yucky sex scene 🤮🤢
This is not like Jordan Silver’s typical work. This had sex, but not at all like her other books. This was heavy on the plot, which is a thriller/suspense. There really isn’t any romance, no HEA. It ends on a strange cliffhanger. Book 2 would have the potential for the romance. I’m not too decided on if I would read it.
Riley and cilia were a complicated couple. Riley married to a crazy woman. He best friend murder by his wife. The book was interesting, but the ending was a cliffhanger, what happened to Riley and Cilia relationship?
Not sure if this book is finished. It for sure left a cliff hanger and was overall a good plot. Of course on the platform it's on it could use some editing but overall I enjoyed it."
Again! Another great read from Jordan Silver! Can wait for the next installment. Little different twist to what I expect of this Author but none the less a great read!
Umm wow that was a intense mystery. I really do like Celia and think she is a great character. The whole cheating scandal was clever and quite genius. I can’t wait for the next installment.
A mix of a story telling and multiple POVs. A suspense and mystery. The tell of different romances. As the tale unfolds the main characters are developing Riley and Cecile.
