Childhood trauma and a selfish, uncaring father left Levi vulnerable to forming relationships which eventually caused him shame.
His fans had no idea, all they saw was the rock star they idolized, living a life of excess.
When a narrow escape makes him realize he could only be one thoughtless mistake away from losing it all, Levi heads to rehab.
When he remerges back into his familiar rock music world some scars remain from his secret past. Levi resolves to change his ways, but when past relationships threaten to overwhelm him, will his choices be better this time?

5 Star Review Until Levi (PulseTunes Rock Gods #2) by K .L. Shandwick Until Levi is the second book in the PulseTunes Rock God series and was an entertaining read. Her writing is strong with characters who you cannot help but fall for. There is something about K. L. Shandwick’s style of writing that calls to me. This was an emotional roller coaster of a read as Levi and Trinnie (aka Gabrielle) struggle with a relationship which is challenging. Levi has returned from rehab but he is still fighting to keep sobriety. Meeting his old school friend again may just be the life line he needs. Trinnie, a single mum, is coming off a bitter divorce and despite herself is drawn to the troubled rock star. This friends to lovers romance was well written, with plenty of heart and soul. It was raw and confronting at times and got to me on a number of levels. As they re ignite their friendship, lines will be crossed. The growth of both Levi and Trinnie as the story progressed and the support they gave to one another was heart warming. Another captivating read from K.L. Shandwick.
Like this authors other books, there’s A LOT of words. Too many. I enjoy the premise but I tend to start skipping ALL the words and I don’t feel I miss anything in the story.
Who doesn't want to fall in love with the lead singer of a famous rock band? Well, rest easy, Levi's capacity for love will leave you breathless.
Having battled his demons in rehab, Levi strives to find his new normal which just happens to include the amazing Trinnie, a forgotten friend from middle school who he comes across on the beach one day.
Levi's rockstar status means little to this financially independent single mother but his friendship is priceless.
As their relationship progresses and unwavering in his commitment to Trinnie, Levi meets Gabrielle, the shy 9 year old who also steals his heart but man does he have to work hard to get into hers!
Unfortunately Levi's demons test his resolve and his battles continue but, this time, with the unwavering support of the lovely Trinnie, who would slay any dragon for him.
In the background of course are his friends and band mates that show, without a doubt, that blood is not always thicker than water and family can be chosen. Levi has chosen wisely, even down to the oftentimes acerbic Sadie.
This is rockstar romance at its best. We know that KL Shandwick creates idols that we all fall madly in love with but Levi has taken up residence in my heart and I'm quite happy he's there.
More than anything else his strength of character, loyalty and capacity for love and forgiveness is truly remarkable.
An amazing 5 star read that will have you a fan of the Pulsetunes Rock Gods series but Levi is mine!
This story is like an in depth look into a troubled rock stars mind and heart, it felt profound so many times.
Levi's psyche was as broken as a shattered sheet of glass. He was so confused and on the verge of total burn out. Previous manipulative and malicious girlfriends swirling around his life, keeping him on that tightrope...
At least he had his band mates, his brothers, they knew the real Levi, they had his back. Even when his deepest darkest secret comes to light, they never abandon him, sadly he never feels worthy...
It will take a lot of effort from Levi and the hand of a very understanding and mature person to bring this chapter of his life to an end, if at all.
Enter Trinnie, who knew that the shy and awkward girl from his childhood would be his salvation, that they would both chase their demons and find their peace together. Boy do they have to fight long and fight hard.
K.L Shandwick brings to life the best and worst in her rock stars, on one hand the excesses and vices, on the other their firm friendships. I always love when all of her previous stars get together, you can never get enough of Gibson Barclay and Rick Fars, and music, always the music...
Another really well written, fabulous story from this author.
So this is book 2 in the Plusetunes Rock Gods series and is Levis story……
When we saw him Jude’s book, he had a lot going on but omg you hearts are gonna hurt ❤️🩹 and melt for Levi ❤️🔥
Just fresh out of rehab, Levi takes some time for himself at his house on the beach
Trinnie is nursing herself back to being a single mum of a 9yr old girl Gabriella has a house on same beach…..but a chance encounter sees these two become friends and then they realise they know each other from their school days
A heartfelt emotional read that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat routing for these 2 but as always there’s a lot of stepping stones (hills/mountains) to get through
What a wonderful second book in this series about the guys of rock band Screaming Shadows. I'd been looking forward to Levi's road to redemption after meeting him in book one and his rollercoaster of a story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.
I did love Levi a lot, he had a huge, beautiful heart and a lot of love for those he trusts. However, as we saw from his best friend Jude's book previously (Until Jude), he was a troubled man with a host of inner demons to battle. The more we got to know him, we learnt the true extent of his heartbreaking past and the things/people who haunted him, not just from the grave! He had so much to face, to reconcile and close the door on to move forward and his journey was not helped by the few determined to mess with his mind whilst trying to get back what they lost and definitely didn't deserve. I absolutely loved how he grew and matured and not just with the support of his loyal band mates and peers. Which brings me to Trinnie. What a gorgeous woman with a witty, quick sense of humour and a natural, caring disposition, not overawed by Levi's fame, despite her teeth fascination lol. She had her own issues too, but I loved their banter and how they took things slowly despite their sizzling chemistry and obvious attraction. They were perfect for each other despite the bumpy road to trust, love and happiness they found themselves on.
Until Levi is a long book but it never felt that way. It had emotion, depth, humour, poignant moments, heartache, heat and a real sense of family, love and loyalty. Both main characters grew throughout and dealt with those who would break them with integrity and maturity (high five to Deakon though for doing towards the end what I'm sure anyone who reads this will want to do!!) I loved the chapters The Screaming Shadows were on tour and was very happy to see more of Rick Fars and other beloved rockstars from this fabulous world KL Shandwick has created. Looking forward to what comes next!
Book 2 in the PluseTunes Rock Gods and do I have the words to do this raw and gritty journey justice, can I do this amazing story credit. This is Levi and Gabriella’s (AKA Trinnie) story and boy do they have an emotional tale to tell but let’s be honest what’s not to love when a hot rockstar and a single mum come together to find happiness ….. Levi has been fighting his demons but he is home from rehab and he is enjoying his solitary walks along the beach when he bumps into an old school friend but this woman is nothing like the girl he remembers and what starts as a walk down memory lane soon turns into a steamy love story. Trinnie is getting over a bitter divorce and is dealing with becoming a single mum to her 9 year old daughter so can these two friends find strength together or will the past and the demons to be too much to bare…. This is an emotional, raw and gritty read, it has wonderful characters and it’s beautifully written. I was captivated from the first page and I was kept on the edge of seat as I found myself wishing and hoping Levi and Trinnie got the HEA they both so deserved. If you love rockstar romance this should certainly be on your radar and that’s all I’m going to say because I believe this book should be read with no preconceived ideas, it’s needs to be read first hand to get the best out of Until Levi.
Just WOW!!!!. This story was so moving, exciting, entertaining and just plain AWESOME!!!. Sometimes in life everyone just needs to take a deep breath and really look in the mirror at themselves to figure out what is going wrong!!. K.L. is a FANTASTIC storyteller and is a PHENOMENAL writer😊.
A sexy rockstar, A beautiful single mom. Trying to fight your demons no matter how common is a struggle. Meeting someone who makes the fight worth it can !make the difference until the Demon pops its head up and tries to destroy the progress you made. Until Levi is a struggle with the demons of the past and his moves towards the future is so worth the battle!!!
Amazing book for Levi. It fits his character perfectly. And, like always this author throws in twists you won’t expect and have you going OMG and WT* at every turn. A real Page turner.
This book was more than just a rockstar romance, it took us to the places that haunted Levi and showed us that with hard work and determination you can overcome anything. Levi was troubled but the love of a good woman made the good in him shine through.
What a fabulous read! Writing with her characteristic flow and skill, KL Shandwick paints a vivid picture of a man with his demons, but with a huge heart, a heart which has been knocked about, but is not yet ready to give up. A chance meeting with an old school fellow, Trinnie, brings together two worthy people who deserve a whole bucket load of happiness. This story is full of witty banter, introspection, friendship and family, both blood and found, woven together with a plot that bears taking the time to absorb. I loved the inclusion of other much loved characters from KL's wider world and was unable to put the book down as this was one in which to sink and allow to carry you away. I finished with a warm glow, loving the extended epilogue which cemented Until Levi as another favourite, to be retro read. 💖💖💖💖💖
I loved Until Jude the first book in this series and I can say the same about Until Levi. Though this is a rock star romance series it is much more realistic and down to earth than other rocker books I have read. It is very raw and gritty and gives us an insight into the life of rockstars, and how even though they have fame and fortune it does not erase the pain of their pasts.
The past actions of his father have consequences that are difficult for Levi to deal with in the present and he had to enter rehab to help him to deal with his life. Newly arrived home he has a chance meeting with Trinnie a girl he knew from his school days, and boy has she changed from the ugly duckling with braces. A romance with Trinnie is not what he wants so they settle for friendship until he realises that this strong independent career woman who loves him for his teeth not his money is exactly what he needs. Their chemistry is off the charts and whew those bedroom scenes!!
Trinnie is totally amazing, she is so there for him all the time, a shoulder to lean on, and the voice that he needs to hear to keep him calm and focused. At the same time she keeps her career moving and takes care of her daughter without being dependent on Levi for anything.
I felt so bad for Levi having to deal with the dirt from his father's past being continually raked up and I am so glad he had the support of Trinnie and his band. This story really is emotional and heartbreaking but I was unable to put it down.
This is book two in the PulseTunes Rock Gods series and is Levi’s story. Levi has been through a lot, has battled his demons, and now fresh out of rehab he’s trying to find his new normal. Trinnie is getting over a bitter divorce and learning how to be a single mom to her nine year old daughter. When an unexpected encounter bring Levi and Trinnie, two old childhood friends together again, what starts out as talking of old memories soon turns into something more. Another fabulous read by this author and I look forward to my next!
Brilliant Loved loved loved Levi and Trinnie. Absolutely brilliant Learned some much more about Levi His relationships his life. Trinnie strong independent woman Mother works hard also is not a random woman Levi and Trinnie met in school although both completely different now the sparks fly in this book
Levi has been through hell emotionally. He's worked through his demons and come out better person. Trinnie has her own issues to work through when she and Levi start falling for one another. Then there's the usual "rock star" issues to deal with. I enjoyed watching the growth and changes several of the characters go through. This is a great book.
Until Levi is book 2 in the PulseTunes Rock Gods series and its Levi and Trinnie's story.
As Levi adjusts to life after rehab he meets Trinnie. They have a great chemistry from the off but each have their reasons for holding back. As they spend time together things start to change but will they both lower their walls enough to allow their relationship to grow.
KL Shandwick never fails to take us on one hell of an emotional ride with twists and turns along the way. Until Levi is a fantastic read about fighting your demons, finding your true love and it shows us the true meaning of friendship.
This is a story of emotional growth, the character learning to love himself before he can then have meaningful and fulfilling relationships, with a girlfriend and others. It is a rollercoaster at times of highs, lows and middle ground. There are some wonderful light teasing moments full of fabulous banter especially with Trinnie, she is strong and independent, has a wicked but honest humour and is extremely loving and supportive. Some fantastic characters play parts in this as extras from previous books which really add to the rock star, touring side of life, with parties, clubs ect. This isn't as slow burn as Until Jude, the sparks are instant but kept simmering for an initial period that in all honesty is right for both Levi and Trinnie, but you know when they decide to go all in, it will be combustible. A lovely steady paced read with a great flow all the way through. Exciting with a few twists and turns and some astounding surprises along the way, at least one had my mouth hanging open in shock, so unexpected, but it also explained so much. This is down to earth and so realistic which is what I love most about the books KL writes, I believe these stories can happen.
Wow , I did not want this book to finish. Everything you love about KL Shandwick’s writing is here. A wonderful story that touches all the emotions and is written in a way that you’re so invested in Levi and Trinnie’s relationship and all the struggles a recently divorced single mum and a rockstar fresh out of rehab have ahead of them. I was like a kid in a candy shop when all my favourite KL rock stars popped in and out of the story seamlessly ( made me want to do a few re reads) A wonderful book, a wonderful series by a wonderful author.
KL definitely delivers an emotional, yet hot, hot, hot follow up to Until Jude, with this book! I couldn't put this book down! Levi and Trinnie are definately my new favorite couple. The situations in this story are handled in an honest, but thoughtful manner, making them very relatable to the reader.
Levi is fresh out of recovery, but now has to deal with vindictive ex girlfriends, an indulgent former lifestyle that led to his reputation as a bad boy rockstar, a shameful secret, all while picking up the pieces of his fathers myriad of affairs and the ensuing consequences of those affairs. Thank goodness he has awesome band mates and friends who have his back! But Levi wants more... he wants what Jude has, even tho he doesn't feel deserving.
Enter Trinnie....a sweet girl he meets on the beach one day. Turns out she's always had a "thing" for Levi, since they were childhood acquaintances. But Trinnie also been emotionally damaged by an ex husband and she has a daughter to protect.
Can these two damaged souls find trust again in order to find the love that they both crave?
This is another slow burn love story from KL that delivers all the feels! The secondary characters add an additional dimension to the story, especially Sadie, Levi's sassy housekeeper. Can't wait for the the next book!
I loved how in depth this book is. It's a behind the scenes look into a rockstar's life. With all the drama and feelings, makes them more human than the idols who can do no wrong mentality. The trauma Levi has gone through hurt my heart, because it was relatable. The fact that he could come out so much better on the other side is perfect. I loved this book, and you will too!! Grab this series now!!
Emotional, heartbreaking, raw, gritty, inspiring, hot, sexy, fun, amusing ... all words describing K.L. Shandwick's beautifully written rockstar, friends to lovers, single mum story UNTIL LEVI.
I fell for Levi Milligan, lead singer of the Screaming Shadows, in Until Jude. He was fighting his demons and eventually admitted himself into rehab. Now, he was home, feeling freer than he had for years, although some of his demons still haunt him, even from the grave. Levi had so much to face and overcome to be able to move on to a happier more peaceful future. As unexpected meeting with someone from his past has Levi believing that maybe he can have some normality in his life. Trinnie Dixon, wow, what a woman!! She was starting her life over after a recent divorce, so she wasn't looking for any form of commitment. She was simply fantastic, had a wonderful sense of humour, was naturally witty, understanding, caring, and possessed a heart filled with love. Nothing overwhelmed her, not even the famous rockstar who was taking an interest in her.
Levi and Trinnie were perfect for each other, their chemistry was red hot, their attraction palpable, and their heat was volcanic. No matter how hot their attraction was, I loved that they took their time with how their friendship progressed. It was a slow, sometimes tentative build up, they allowed time to get to know each other. I adored the banter they shared, it was fun, deep, and showed a deep understanding of where they were in their lives. Yes, they had obstacles to hurdle, ex's to cope with, and lifestyles to adjust to on their journey, but every minute and hardship was worth it.
From the very beginning UNTIL LEVI touched my heart. K.L. Shandwick perfectly develops her character's growth and ensures that the depth of their emotions is felt by her readers. Not only are the main characters sublime, the secondary characters are also wonderful. Deakon was simply superb (I can't wait for his story Until Deakon), his loyalty to Levi had no boundaries and I loved him for it. Sadie, Levi's housekeeper, was a riot. That girl had no filter, she may appear to be rude and gruff, but inside she had a heart of gold. I enjoyed catching up with some of my fav characters from K.L.'s previous series too, they added some amusing moments to the story.
UNTIL LEVI was a heartfelt, entertaining read, one that I highly recommend.
The second book in this PulseTunes Rock Gods series, with the front man of the Screaming Shadows, Levi, coming to terms with his past, confronting his demons, and finding his one and only.
Levi is the singer in the Screaming Shadows, the best friend of Jude, the drummer in the same band and who book 1 was based on, who has had a lot to live through growing up and then turning into the rockstar that he is. Life has been full of ups and downs, he has treated his women badly, and got to used to drinking. He went into rehab for a stint and has come back fitter and healthier with a change in his ways and attitude. A fateful meeting with a woman from his past on the beach will change his world in lots of ways.....
Trinnie can't believe her luck when she spots Levi on the beach, the Adonis figure of a man rising out of the water and walking away. She has always had a thing for him, even at school she knew he was destined for bigger things. But she has changed so much, will he even recognize her.....
Trinnie has just come out of a bad divorce and has a young daughter to look after, as well a successful realtor business to keep running. She isn't looking for a relationship, but seeing Levi is an opportunity too good to miss.
These two were just brilliant together, she is just what Levi needed to ground him and support him, and she can't believe that Levi would even look twice at her, being the rockgod he is - but their chemistry and the attraction they feel is off the charts, but they are determined to try and be friends first before anything else even develops, which proves difficult when they are both lusting after each other.
This is a definite rollercoaster of a ride as they learn about each other and have lots of obstacles in their way, from stalker ex-girlfriends to horrid manipulative people from their pasts to contend with, each will test their bonds of trust and friendship, but this is where you also find out just who you're friends are as the band members show their loyalty, friendship and support for their members.
This was a great read, raw and gritty, confrontational and emotional - it was lovely watching Levi and Trinnie grow to become friends and more, the support they gave to one another and to those around them was wonderful to watch.
I've had the pleasure of meeting this author in person, two times actually, and let me tell you that she's a sweetheart. The last time I was with her, I begged for this book, but she said I still had to wait... And wait I did. It was torture but when you love an author and a series, you'll wait. Right? KL Shandwick is the author that I'm talking about. Her writing is special, super engaging, and super intense. Have you had the chance to read any book from her? If you haven't, just start now. Until Levi is her latest release and it's the second book from the PulseTunes Rock Gods series. But just one side note. Grab Until Jude first, read it, meet the guys, and only then, read this book. You'll see why. This new book explores the lives of Levi and Trinnie. Levi is the lead singer for Screaming Shadows band. They are a very successful band, but with it, comes all dangers. It's easy to get lost in fame, and fortune, and when your past hadn't been easy, you lose it. So, he gets himself into rehab, but the challenge is to stay sober after leaving the facility. When he re-encounters an old school friend... Trinnie is a fighter. While dealing with a bad divorce, she's doing her best to raise her daughter. One day at her beach house, she sees Levi and... I'm in love... I knew that this book was going to be intense, because of the events that happened in the first book, and boy, oh boy, it was. The complexity of the main character made this story even more addictive. Amazing plot, well written with all the ingredients to create a masterpiece. The characters worked perfectly with each other and it was amazing to witness the slow burn. To see their friendship evolve into something more. The emotional factor and the hate we carry for each other can be hard to overcome, but when you have family around you, you'll do everything. It was perfect to keep having news from the other characters from this series and I can't wait for the next book. The sexual tension was so high that I wanted to yell at them... This book was so freaking awesome and even though it was a big book, not that I'm complaining, I didn't want it to end... Greedy right? Oh KL. You have done it again. Can't wait for the next one.
Until Levi is book two in K.L. Shandwick’s PulseTunes Rock Gods series about the rock band Screaming Shadows. This time we have the frontman and wayward rockstar Levi Milligan. A slow burn romance as they become friends first before taking the step up to lovers and into a relationship. This is a long emotional journey with many ups and downs as secrets are reveal and the past won’t stay away.
Levi is now living in Florida and is trying to settle into a new lifestyle after being in rehab. One day he is shocked to meet Trinnie Dixon, an old school friend. He remembers her as a nerdy and shy girl but in front of him is a beautiful woman. She is newly divorced, has a nine year old daughter and is trying to find her way around life as an independent single woman.
As their friendship develops we find out the baggage they both have which affects their decisions on how far either of them want to go together. Trinnie’s sense of humour is great, she is very frank and their banter is entertaining especially when she puts him in his place. Levi is very confused over his feelings for Trinnie due to his previous experiences so it is a tentative start which then leads to lots of passion and desire. She has to protect her daughter and he has to go on tour. Throughout the story you can’t deny their feelings for each other even if they are dubious to fully commit.
“ Now don’t go getting ahead of yourself Levi Milligan.”
The author is very good at explaining everything associated with being in a band and going on tour. Each of the band members have their own unique way of coping with the stress involved and the highs and lows of performing. I loved the camaraderie between the lads and how they supported each other. They are just the type of friends Levi needs when all the good work he did in rehab is put to the test. Not only has Levi ex-girlfriends to deal with but the press won’t leave him alone. He is constantly fighting his demons and trying to deal with his troubled past.
We get lots of Jude and Esther, as well as the other band members. I particularly liked Sadie, his snarky, blunt and closed off housekeeper. Their relationship was like walking on glass at times but they certainly understand each other and she is very loyal to him. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the rock stars from K.L’s other series, especially as we were treated to a bit of my favourite, the wonderful Gibson Barclay !!
True love is never easy and I loved the way they supported each other through all that happens and had the back up from all his friends. Can they take a chance on the connection they both feel. Will Trinnie let Levi fully into her life and can he get his life under control and be the man she deserves. I wondered at first if she’d be able to cope with the troubled rockstar but she certainly surprised me and I was cheering at her no-nonsense attitude at the end. It is a long book but it progresses at a rate appropriate for this couple because their relationship is complex. Enjoy this well written story with all the angst and drama you expect from a great rockstar romance. This band is certainly giving the authors other bands a run for their money !!
When we first meet Levi Milligan, he is a somewhat troubled man. An unsettled life, both in childhood and as an adult, often sees him make decisions which are not always in the best interests of himself or those around him. He’s a good person, as evidenced by the loyalty shown to him by his friends and family but has a self destruct button he has a tendency to reach for when things get tough. At a time when he’s determined to turn his life around, to reinvent himself, fate steps in and gives him a push in the right direction.
Trinnie is newly divorced with a nine year old daughter. Strong and independent, she’s got her feet on the ground and is smart and funny and quick witted. She’s been hurt in the past, which makes her weary of starting a new relationship, let alone with a rockstar who has a reputation like Levi’s. I really liked her. She’s a woman who knows how to be soft and caring when it matters and yet is able to stand up for herself and her loved ones when needed.
Despite their very different lifestyles, these two worked perfectly together, slowly building a relationship that was both hot and steamy as well as loving and supportive. However, to say their journey is a bumpy one is an understatement. Life has a few curveballs and bombshell revelations to throw at them before they can find their happy ever after.
Some great supporting characters enriched the storyline further with their banter and camaraderie, (shout out to Sadie!), and appearances by some of this author’s other much loved rockstars were just the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to read more about the lives and loves of these rockers as this series continues.
I absolutely loved reading Until Levi. Levi Milligan is the lead singer of the highly successful band, Screaming Shadows, and his journey throughout this story has been a pleasure to witness. K.L. Shandwick has, as always, penned an emotional and realistic story. I know you will enjoy reading this narrative as much as I have.
Levi hasn’t had the easiest of lives and I couldn’t help but feel emotional when learning about his history. This is a guy who has the biggest heart. He is caring and kind but he has struggles and also some demons from his past that won’t leave him alone. I loved seeing his close circle always being there for him. As Levi’s story unfolded it was a pleasure to see his personal growth. He has some of the most incredible relationships with Sadie, Esther, Jude and his other bandmates. However, witnessing Trinnie and Levi’s relationship develop was a definite highlight for me. Their chemistry is palpable. They bring out the best in each other and they fit perfectly together.
There were moments when I wasn’t quite certain of Trinnie and her motives for befriending Levi. What I learned is that she is an incredible woman who like Levi, is going through some major changes in her life. I love her personality and the witty comments that she delivers. I found her to be thoughtful, caring and understanding. However, I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of her!
The banter throughout the story made me laugh and smile lots. Although this is essentially Levi and Trinnie’s story all the characters added to the storyline perfectly. I absolutely loved the appearance of characters from K.L Shandwick’s other book series and novels – many of those men have a place in my heart. I now want to go and reread their stories.
Until Levi is a lengthy story as there is so much for Levi and Trinnie to share with us. I found the storytelling at times to be exceptional and I didn’t want to put my Kindle down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and I highly recommend Until Levi to you to read.
What I love the most about K.L. Shandwick's rockstars is getting their story once they are off the stage. They might be gods under the lights of fame and success, but they are very much human and flawed with hunting pasts and raw emotions.
Until Levi focuses on Levi Milligan, the lead singer of Screaming Shadows, as he is back from rehab. He has been battling demons for years, and after spiraling out of control, he is ready to regain control of his life. But the scars run deep, and the past continues to haunt him.
Trinnie is finding her balance as a single mom after getting divorced. She is outspoken, unapologetic, and witty. A far cry from the shy and quirky girl she was in her teenage years. New to the neighborhood, she bumps into Levi, whom she had met way back when.
Despite their evident attraction, they start an unlikely friendship. They take their time to get to know each other while hilariously bickering. The sizzling chemistry is undeniable. Yet, this is a delicious and angsty slow burn. So many layers to peel and wounds to heal. And pasts that keep getting in their way.
Levi's bandmates are the best. In this book, they are more mature and in tune. As always, K.L. Shandwick's characters are complex, and she portrays their issues with utter respect and reverence. Levi and Trinnie's journey is a whirlwind of emotions. Yet, it is beautiful as it is led by true love.
*4,5 stars* This is the second book in this series by the author and I have to say I loved this one a lot. It wasn't your typical rockstar read as there were so many emotions going on aside from the music and the depth to the story was something that really touched you. Even though Levi's a man, as a woman you can relate to a lot of things he went through and this made it even more relatable. There were a few moments that felt like that for me, where I'd feel I had some of the same experiences and made me think about a lot of things. But I also loved the chemistry between Levi and Trinnie but most of all the sassiness and confidence Trinnie had. I can't wait to see what is next in store in this series and which person gets the next story!
Levi has been through a lot and life seems to still keep throwing curveballs at him. Trying to turn his life around, it's not as easy as he has a lot of things still to deal with from the past. When he runs into Trinnie, there's a certain familiarity he feels and they hit it off instantly. As time progresses, their relationship starts to evolve and feelings start to grow but both have dealt with a lot of issues and are trying to make the best of it. But when Levi's past start to intertwine in his future, he'll do whatever it takes to make her see that he has changed and isn't the man he used to be. Will they find their way together?...
