Carter and June’s story continues in Force of Nature and their chemistry is off the charts hot that my kindle almost melted from the scorching heat🔥 This couple finds themselves in peril on an island without proper clothing and footwear. The terrain is brutal and unforgiving as they trek across the foliage in search of fresh water and higher ground. When Theo enters the picture this story takes a huge twist and pivot. Carter is questioning Theo and his motives, but he has no choice but to have to trust him and give them a safe haven. I love this Midnight Dynasty series with the feuding Morelli’s and Constantine’s. I get so enraptured in these stories that I could not put this book down until the very last page. Absolutely recommend this story ❤️

HOLY SMOKES! Carter Morelli where did you come from?! I’m obsessed. Who knew the most calm, brainy, detached Morelli would turn out to be so riveting- at times charismatic, other times feral, Carter is a revelation. A whole Morelli alpha we haven’t seen before. I was so captivated by the beginnings of this story in The Crash- I just knew we’d have something special. I could not stop turning the pages

Force of Nature does something brilliant- it takes this Midnight Dynasty/Morelli world story and removes it entirely from the Constantine-Morelli playground of Bishop’s Landing. Don’t get me wrong- I LOVE all the MD world, but this makes this story feel especially fresh and novel and unique in the sea of well-loved stories in the BL setting. Here, our characters are marooned on a dangerous tropical island…and they are not alone. But even better, Force also explores a whole new relationship dynamic, laying the ground work for a throuple situation that is absolutely delicious. The result is a fresh, novel, and RIVETING story, but one that still has the familiar sexual tension, fast-paced danger and drama, and edgey charaters that make the Midnight Dynasty world one of my favorites. It’s somehow everything I love about it, yet something entirely new.

If you read the Crash, you know this story starts with intensity and danger, and it doesn’t let up. Skye and Amelie gracefully fuse suspense and mystery with edge of your seat danger and urgency, and of course, their characteritistic erotic tension. Carter is every bit as mysterious as we expect- all we know is that this Morelli is NOT who he seems. And our plucky, innocent, sunshiney, slightly neurotic heroine June is the perfect soft foil for his fierce edge. These two alone are mesmerizing- the tension, the protectiveness, the connection, but then we also get a bright eyed enigmatic stranger, Theo, thrown into the mix, and holy moly sexual tension. This is a slower burn, but then it burns so hot your kindle may ignite. Dominant and demanding Carter comes out to play- and YOWZERS.

The chemistry and dynamics are addictive, and with the action and suspense mixed in, it’s a fast and intensely engaging read- leading up to that WTF moment cliffhanger that has me desperate for me. This is one of my favorite Morelli world stories yet- I loved every word

Gah! This story had adventure, intrigue, danger, and a veritable storm of sexual tension.

"I find it obnoxiously hot. Her bravery. Her insistence. How she's holding her chin up, even now. How she thinks we might die and she's still looking for the way to solve the problem, her limited skill set be damned."

Carter Morelli, a professor of biology as well as a pilot, has been tasked to fly photographer, June Porter, to Africa. What June doesn't know is that Carter has a mission to accomplish. However, June doesn't get to Africa nor does Carter complete his mission, as their plane malfunctions and he's forced to crash-land on a desert island. But, desert island doesn't mean it's deserted. There's someone living on the island.

"That's what this is about. My challenge to his claim on both of us. He can only tell me what to do with my hands if he has us both."

You know a book is going to be all kinds of hot when two people crash-land and all they can think about is survival and sex! I loved the lush backdrop to this story, but the heat and humidity of the island is only heightened by the intense attraction between the characters. Throw in the third main character and WOWZERS!! Carter is a dark and commanding enigma, June is bright, beautiful and stoic, and Theo is innocence and heat wrapped up in raw masculinity. I loved how Carter's psychology changes in this story from being the focused man he's always been, to a man who starts to care too much. He's always been about the mission and collateral damage, but from the moment he saw June, he knew in his gut that things wouldn't ever be the same again, no matter how hard he tried to fight it. And, that cliffy! I didn't see that coming!

This book is so hot I read it twice already!

Carter Morelli was always the Morelli sibling I was interested in reading about. He was the quiet professor who wasn't really around much in the other Midnight Dynasty books. (So this is a great first book if you haven't read any others). And Carter did not disappoint.

Carter has a doctorate in biology and is escorting a photographer to Africa (and a secret mission) when their plane crashes on a deserted island. Sabotage, you ask? Bullets fly and blood is shed, survival is for the strong, and Carter warns sweet June that they aren't alone on the island.

I love Carter. He struggles between his mission and making sure June is safe and doesn't become collateral damage. June is sweet and smart and she is not a weak whiny female character that I hate in romance books. I adore her.

The sexy scenes were off the charts hot. Carter is an alpha, let's just say that. I wonder if they sell that antidote in stores?

The book ends on a huge cliffhanger that I did not see coming and I like, NEED the next book today please and thank you.

Force of Nature is book one in the Deserted Island series by Skye Warren and Amelia Wilde. Other than the prequel to this series, The Crash, I have not read either of these authors before. I think I liked it better this way, going into this not knowing anything about the Morelli family. I was drawn to this book by the amazing cover and then the blurb! And now that I just finished it, I am freaking out because Holy Moly, what did I just read?!!!

Carter Morelli is known as a tweed wearing biology professor but he has a secret life. A life as a spy, a life full of darkness and danger. He had a passenger with him on this particular mission. Take a photographer to her assignment in Africa and on the way home, he would see to his own business. Only they never made it, crash landing on a deserted island.

June Porter is a photographer barely making ends meet. She also greatly dislikes flying. So she’s not the best passenger for the college professor piloting her to her next assignment. Every nightmare comes true when they crash land. But June is determined not to be a problem for Carter. So in her little sundress and sandals, she does her best to keep up, to not hold him back, to be brave.

From the start, there is a chemistry between Carter and June. He’s drawn to her innocence, her sweetness, and her determination to be strong. Their first kiss might be a celebration of survival. But what about the second kiss? What excuse does Carter have for that?

It doesn’t take long for them to determine that they are not alone on the island. That there is someone watching them, maybe waiting. Is it someone evil? A threat?

I want to tell you more but then that would spoil it for you. It is SO HARD to hold back. Other than hold on to your hats with this one. And have some ice water handy. You’re going to need it, a LOT of it! There is a cliffy but I knew that going on. I most definitely was STILL shocked though because WOW! What an ending it was!!! Now I have to wait for the next book. I hope these two are typing like crazy because we need that book as soon as possible.

⛔️Be advised, this isn't for everyone. ⛔️
Wanted to inform SOME readers who this will matter on whether or not you read this book.
MM/MMF/MFM. Also the scene with the m/f/m. In the scene there was a strong element of dubious consent with the heroine and third male character at the bidding of the hero and the heroine incapable of consenting.

AND it ends in a cliffhanger. NOT a standalone. Trilogy. #2 Natural Disaster #3 Tropical Storm
For those expecting a HEA in this book.

Just a sad side note. I was given this info from a friend.
So supposedly on a Group FB page (one of the authors) they are giving away a Designer bag and Amazon gift card. They will pick one winner. But the followers have to like at least one or all of 5 of the chosen 5 star reviews for this book. So in exchange for liking 5 star reviews someone wins and gets compensation?!?!? So be aware of those top reviews, the system was manipulated.

Carter and June are trapped on a desert island, after the plane crash.
Worse, they have men trying to catch them, they want Carter dead.
Being a government agent is dangerous, but Carter never intended to put anyone around him, in danger.
Until June…

descriptiondescription

They have to go into the jungle to escape.
June is in danger, Carter will do anything to save her.
But Carter knows one thing June doesn't know yet, there's someone on the island…
And he's the only one that can save June's life…

descriptiondescription

Theo went to the island when he was a child, his mother moved them to escape the sins of the world.
Now he's the biggest sinner, he wants June and Carter…
But Theo is also a virgin.
This is an m/m/f and m/f/m.
Carter loves men and women, so he's attracted to Theo and June in an obsessive way.

description

Half of this story is about sex and insta”love”.
The scenes are hot, though…
Carter is the hot professor, teaching Theo how to pleasure June.
This ends with a cliffhanger, when Theo, out of the blue, decides to hand June to the enemies.
I wasn't expecting that, after all they shared, Theo's mother lessons spoke louder, and he regrets what he did with Carter and June.

Opinion Breakdown
The Good: The overall premise and the one scene full of sexual tension and steam.

The Not-So-Good: The characters. While we did get some backstory on them, it didn't feel nearly enough. I don't think I connected with any of them. Also, Theo was a little confusing at the very end (see below). I wouldn't say that I necessarily really liked any of the three mcs tbh.

The Bad: The amount of inner dialogue. It felt like that was all there was! I realize there was a time when the h was , but it was too much inner dialogue even before and after that! It even felt repetitive (especially with Carter)! Now that I know there is a third book, I feel as though this was done to draw out the story and get another book out of it. I'm probably being Bitter Betty here, but idk why half of it was necessary if that wasn't the end goal. Quality over quantity is the way to go IMO!

Overall: I'm super frustrated with myself for not realizing this had another book! I even waited until this one came out thinking it was the conclusion before reading the prequel. Tbh, overall, I wasn't a huge fan and while the sexy tension and times were hot (between the Hs especially), I don't think it was enough to entice me to read the third book...

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Carter, June, and Theo's story. I'm going to keep this vague because I don't want to ruin it. I do recommend reading the prequel first, The Crash. This continues Carter and June's story after their crash and they encounter some danger in the jungle that has them relying on a stranger, Theo, for help. Theo has been isolated on this island since he was a kid and is unsure about the strangers, but also drawn to them. There are some suspenseful scenes, some hot sexy times, and this ends on a cliffy.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Carter, June, and Theo's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Eh, it took me a really long time to read this. While I did have a lot of personal stuff going on to prevent me from being able to read, I also wasn't all that eager to make time and get back to this either.

Instalove: No. Instalust for all three? Absolutely. To the point it was actually a little ridiculous.

H1 (Hero #1) rating: 3.5 stars. Carter. I appreciated his struggle to do his job while being drawn to these two, but his character wasn't all that relatable tbh.

H2 (Hero #2) rating: 3 stars. Theo. He was introduced later and I don't feel like I really got to know him. The Theo with Carter and the Theo in his own thoughts were different than the Theo at the end, so I'm just not sure about him.

h (heroine) rating: 3.5 stars. June. I appreciated her effort to get past her fears and her upbringing was sad, but I don't think I connected that much with her either.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: No, just internal

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: No

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ends on a cliffy that I wasn't expecting because I didn't realize there was a third book or that it hadn't been released yet. It looks like it'll be available in December...

Safety: This one should be Safe with exception for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences

Envy is a sin, and I’m sick with it. I’m jealous of his hands on her skin when I could be touching her. And I’m jealous of his hands on her when he could be touching me.

Welp, it's officially official, I AM HOOKED. This is like espionage meets Tarzan and I am here for it because holy hotness, batman!
I’ll kiss her, if that’s what it takes to stop her panic. I’ll drag her into the jungle and hold her naked in my arms, if that’s what it takes to keep her warm. I’ll suffer through being painfully hard every time I look at her until I’m dead, if that’s what it takes to survive.

First of all, friends, Carter mother effing Morelli. This man. Dare I say I may have met my favorite Morelli brother of the series. I know, I know, big statement. Especially considering he's related to Leo Morelli. But professor Carter is now a proud owner of my ovaries and I don't want them back. He's such a fascinating enigma. There's the professor part of him that kicks in one particular scene and let me just tell you. HOLY SIZZLE. When Professor Carter's class of sexual education is in, it's IN. But I digress.

If you've read the prequel novella than you've already been introduced. And if you haven't, then don't worry, because the book starts with that story. Carter is a professor by day but beneath that veil, he's also a secret government agent. When a routine flight that should be nothing more than a stopover on his way to his true mission gets tempered with, he and the photographer he's flying crash land on a deserted island. Only it's not as deserted as they think.

After reading the novella, I was dying to meet the man who inhabits the island. But nothing prepared me for Theo and the instant fiery chemistry that sparks to life between these three.

We get enough of a taste to get the reader completely hooked only to be slapped with a cliffhanger so painful, I'm not sure I'd survive the wait for the next book. GAH.

June Porter is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer headed to Mauritania on a research assignment for the Biology Department at Oxford.

Carter Morelli, a Jack of all trades who serves as a biology professor at Oxford, has been commissioned by the department to pilot June’s plane and accompany her on the wildlife expedition to the deserts of Africa.

With her cheerful disposition and genuinely sweet demeanor, June immediately embeds herself under his skin. When they crash land into a deserted jungle island, the James Bond superhero feels responsible for keeping June safe.

After their not-so-accidental crash landing, June learns that there is more - much more - to the botanist. As if that’s not enough, they soon discover the jungle has eyes.

The sizzling chemistry is there from the first pages and only intensifies the farther they trek into the jungle. Moreover, I was so caught up in this unique storyline, as in completely invested, that I finished in two sittings. As a painfully slow reader, that’s telling!! I can’t wait to see what’s next for this unlikely trio when Natural Disaster releases.

Loved it up until a twist came out of nowhere which didn’t suit our hero’s character, no mention that he liked the opposite sex, which I have absolutely no qualms about and then to become a teacher to the virgin hero on the island even though hot as fuck yet again didn’t suit the characters. That’s just my opinion.

Like the previous book this also ends in a cliffy, I’m invested enough to finish this series so I’m anticipating the next book.

*Thank you to Valentine PR and the authors for an ARC of this title.*

It's been a hot minute since I've dived into the Midnight Dynasty, but when I read the blurb for this new series.. I jumped at the chance to get in on it. I love the idea of a series inspired by Tarzan, a hunky jungle recluse. Add in some Morelli drama and a plane crash and I am into it!

While I do feel like the pacing was off and the introduction of Theo to June and Carter felt a bit off. I can't lie that I was very compelled by their instant chemistry and the commanding presence Carter put off over the other two. I wish it had more time to breathe, as everything seems to happen SO fast. I know in romance novels we need to deal with a condensed timeline but... based on a choice that Carter makes right at the end, I feel like I needed a bit more time with the three of them together.

And while I will be tuning back in to see the conclusion, I feel like I will need some more connection and relationship growth to come for me to believe this romance. But it was very compelling and I was flipping my pages quickly.

Force of Nature by Skye Warren and Amelia Wilde was certainly an unexpected departure from The Crash with the introduction of a new stranger on the island. I had my own reservations about this character, especially when it came to how his role and dynamic will affect Carter Morelli and June Porter. Unfortunately, I wasn't completely sold on the ménage relationship considering that it was mostly founded on lust and instant attraction. I was more interested in the budding relationship between June and Carter instead as they initially sought to take cover from those seeking them harm. As they travel further into the jungle, Carter is forced to contend with his identity and feelings for June as well as the sudden appearance of the mysterious man.

"It's as if he's memorizing me—the feel of me. The taste. As if he's taking the last kiss he'll ever have."

I was slightly disappointed by this story because I expected more from Carter and June. Even after finishing the book, I still couldn't grasp who they were as characters. Carter Morelli is haunted by his family's legacy and is adamant about being a sinner. But why? Carter has lived a good life while distancing himself from his family and hiding his double life from them. As for June, she is a struggling photographer with a difficult childhood. The mysterious man is even more of an enigma because of his religious upbringing and contradictory nature. They had nothing in common with each other. The addition of Theo only further complicated Carter and June's relationship.

"This woman is like the actual sun—cheerful like a giant burning star. She's burning me."

If you like the forced proximity and grumpy/sunshine tropes with the added bonus of MMF, then you won't be disappointed by Carter, June, and Theo's complicated relationship. There is no denying that the sex scenes were extremely erotic, filthy, and almost dreamlike in a way—this fits perfectly with the mood of this book because everything felt like a dream or hallucination. While this story is part of the Midnight Dynasty universe, it can be read as a standalone. I do have to say that the story was fast-paced and made for an entertaining read. At first, it was a survival story between Carter and June but then it transformed into an entirely different one with the introduction of Theo. The book does end with a twist of a cliffhanger that will make readers question everything.

Thrillers and romance are my kryptonite and when Sky Warren and Amelia Wilde decide to unite forces, I’m in heaven. These two will always feed my cravings for suspense reads filled with sexy moments.

Force of nature has me engaged from the first page to the last.

The Crash started off with a bang and their first encounter had me all giddy with excitement because I knew I was in for a ride.

“When he kissed me, I could fly.”

What follows next was really unexpected and I couldn’t turn the pages faster.

Talk about steam out if this world! That chemistry is highly felt throughout the pages but this duo managed to make me blush in the most unexpected way.

And while I hate cliffhangers and that ending, I can’t wait to read the next books because I need so much more from these characters!

Hmm, I don't know how to feel about this one. I love the general premise behind the story, but so far everything has been pretty vague.

I'm kind of annoyed because although the smut was good, it sort of undermined the whole build-up between June and Carter- and made the introduction of Theo feel cheap idk.

But it was still pretty solid. The cliffhanger/ ending of this book felt SO random, but I'm interested to see how everything plays out.

Those cliffhangers get me every time! I am rather enjoying the premise of the story. But honestly some of it got lost in a couple of chapters that were devoted to a fever induced "dream". It really was confusing to me.... but in all honesty that could just be me and how I read because I have mild ADD. And the term "slow burn" is very accurate. Because of how things went for June and Carter on this deserted island, there really wasn't even much opportunity for them to have sexual tension between them..... but then when the spice came...... IT CAME!!!! (pun sort of intended) There was a part that surprised the heck out of me and I will just keep that to myself and let you see what happens! I am definitely looking forward to the next book, I have a feeling I will enjoy it much more, I feel like this one was kind of the build up to when the real fun/action begins.

DNF @70% - I just can’t. Too much repetitive inner monologue and the final nail is two people are legit making googoo eyes at each other instead of feeding a third character an antidote because they’ve been poisoned. like legit dying on the ground and the two people that could save them are eye f-cking. 🫠 I’m just glad I borrowed this from the library. I’m sad though because I love stranded survival romance.

"Two beautiful people on my island. One of them unwell."

I'm not gonna lie, this was a difficult book for me to rate.. Until the 62% mark, I was bored to death for the most part. And the first 22% of this book is the novella, first part, which is The Crash. While there were bits of this first part of the book that were interesting, most of it seemed like filler that could have been cut down drastically.

For me personally, the book got interesting AF when Theo entered the picture.

June and Carter have crash landed on an island. Carter was supposed to be flying young and innocent photographer June when their plane goes down. While they are faced with one adventure after another on this island, none is more complex than Theo, a roughened island man who has been living on this island for most of his life.

I read the last 38% of this book in one sitting. I could not put it down. While I enjoyed the hell out of it, the pacing seemed super rushed...something that could have been avoided had the first over half of this book not been so drug out. This trio goes from life or death to some seriously thick sexual tension in the space of one afternoon... seriously.

The book ends in a major cliffhanger, but I cannot wait to see where this story goes next. I feel life this was the setup for th real story to come.

The first six chapters of the book are the free prequel, The Crash

Challenged by the primal human need to survive, Carter and June are at the mercy of an unforgiven, toxic environment and more so, Carter knows someone is watching them.
Thrown into an unpredictable jungle, June stumbles and Carter is forced to accept the help of Theo, aka the "watching eyes".

Whit sexual tension between Carter and June running high, the vulcano explodes when they meet Theo. The last part of the book is utterly hot.
But Carter still needs to get June off the island, and he sets off to try to arrange an extraction.

Narrated from all three POV's it is enlighten to get to know all three better, but it is the cliffhanger that has me looking forward to the next book in the series.

So the only smart thing I did is go into this book blind and wait till more than one book was released.

Having said that, nothing could prepare me for this gem right here!! Damn this was packed with action, emotion and betrayal. The lethal combination of lust and fear crept through each chapter. The final ending was blunt. But I don't have to sulk long because I have book two!!

If you love the ever evolving story of the Morelli's and Constantine's then get this series. I mean I actually might like a Morelli after reading this one. Professor Carter Morelli is sexy, smart and forceful.

I was already hooked on Carter Morelli when I read the prequel and now I’m something way more and I just don’t know what the right phrasing is!

So far, there’s not much to say about the story except what you might already know from the synopsis, and even then, can that really be trusted? I mean this is a Skye book after all so … I’ve read way too many books by her and she can’t be trusted LOL

I like the storyline, or rather what I think the storyline is this far. It’s unique to me and something that I think will captivate me once the story gets really going in the second and third book of this trilogy but right now it’s just the beginning and even though there’s a prequel to this story, that prequel is part of this book also. So, this is me just trying to say that not enough has happened for me to really let you know anything except, holy mother of intense sexual tension and chemistry!!! Carter on his own is fire but we’ve added a layer with Theo and now I’m just fanning myself to no avail!

Based on the ending of this book, I am now on high alert for the next leg of June, Carter & Theo’s journey!

These two are authors whose work I’ve read and loved, and together they give us a riveting, compelling read. I love the setup of a plane crash with two strangers, one of whom is a Morelli with more secrets than the truths he’s willing to share.

What I didn’t like is not being given any indication about two pivotal factors that can effect a reader's decision about whether or not to give this book a try. It shouldn’t be a spoiler to state that a book ends in a cliffhanger, and it shouldn’t be an issue to reveal the MMF relationship. It feels deceitful, sneaky, and underhanded. We all recognize (or should) that every book isn’t for every reader, so for heaven's sake, give a girl the basic info she needs to make an informed decision.

Aside from this, I would have given the book five stars because the writing is excellent. If you don’t have an issue with what I mentioned, I have no doubt you'll love this one. If you do, be sure to check out some of their other offerings - you're bound to find something to suit you.

Another homerun with the two talented authors. Left me speechless and completely blew my mind. Amazing characters and chemistry and the storyline kept me reading.

Carter's been tasked with escorting (and piloting) a nature photographer to her destination. He's completely blown away to find out she's not the middle aged frump he had been expecting, rather she's young and very innocent. But he can keep his hands to himself for a short time. And he fully expects to accomplish this. Until they crash on an island and run into danger, of more than one type. All his years of training did not prepare him for a feral, gorgeous man who rescues both June and himself. Stuck in a cabin together, something's bound to happen. And damn does it!

OK, what in the heck did I just finish reading?!? First off, it's a serious cliffhanger, so I'm dying to find out what's next for Carter, June and Theo. Second, the scorching chemistry set my Kindle on fire! The dominant, bossy Carter juxtaposed with the innocence of June and the inexperience of Theo made a very intriguing, very hot combination, one that I am really, really impatient for more of.
