A survey of the life and art of Georgia O'Keeffe ranges from her early encounters with Modernism before World War I to her cloud paintings of the 1960s, focusing on the many themes she explored during her career
This book is a quite academic biography of O'Keeffe illustrated with some colour prints and many black and white. I am interested in her life story, but not by the academic criticism of her art. I liked the book of paintings by O'Keeffe herself much better. The two stars are not an evaluation of the book, but of my interest in what it presented.
The biographical chronology with photos and the collection of plates are a nice way to get a little deeper into O'Keeffe's world, but the thematic focus of the critical essay feels dated and less useful.
