One world rescued. More rooms recovered. More sleeping nightmares awakened. Jasper Cloud has assisted the Soulship in preventing the destruction of an entire world while evacuating its population, a tribe of powerful essence warriors descended from Earth's ancient master metalworkers. New foes have arrived, requiring more powerful weapons to defeat. Luckily, the rescued tribe is bringing their expertise to the table and the battleground. Victory will require merging his newly acquired corefire with steel imbued with the sun itself.
The earlier books were much better. The last few books have been terrible. The main issue is that there is so much bad dialogue. The author tells instead of shows.
The characters spend the whole book talking about their feelings. It slows down the pacing so much. Ironically, the character development is also very poor. The characters are very one dimensional. I won’t be reading future books.
I find myself frustrated with the author. Avoiding spoilers the MC is spinning in place. Sure there are the obligatory fight scenes with a random comment but where is the growth? In previous books the cultivation aspect of the story was a key component but as the books have piled on this has faded away. The Mc relationships have floundered even worse. Every time there is a chance for something to change the author forces it back into stagnation. I just don’t know if I can justify reading any more of a wash rinse repeat cycle like this:(
I'll start by saying this is a lot better then previous book thankfully but still not as good as first one.
Some of the humour in this book had me larfing out & liked Aurora and her personality & outlook are great and would like her in a sister relationship with mc think would be best. And saying: let me fix your poor and neglected brain seriously that was alsome.
Didn't like. The talking about feelings and emotions extra too much too often mean already probably too much talking as is in this book. Way described ship firing on enemy in space was hugely disappointing & boring wear the excitement of color and shape for example nope just got it was invisible 'sigh' very unimaginative. Would be great if mc didn't have beacons with him everywhere he goes and please drop the marriage stuff it's just bad read & hole romance thing way done is uncomfortable to cringe read please stop.
Finally.. This starting feel like unfortunately at times turning into unwanted harem story, and long drawn out talking to too often talking about feelings but did kinda make me larf when even characters point out what most likely to happen and does as being ridiculous lmao.
I'll stop hear and say sorry this longer then ment it to be and then cut down on all wanted to say.
This is the same sequence of events over and over with some name changes. It is becoming increasingly obvious that the author has gotten stuck for ideas. This book is very boring and the conflict comes off as manufactured.
I enjoy this author. This is a wholesome series that is creative and fun to lose myself in. This book was another step in the series, we meet new ancient beasts, we save more lost people, and we grow in power as we defy those who would take everything for themselves. If you liked the previous installments of this series, you'll like this one too.
My one complaint, what's with all the mirror battles? We fought several foes in this novel in basically mirror fights, they used the same moves, hit the same way, attacked at just the same moment with both fighters being struck back with identical wounds... it was not the funnest way to read a fight, and can be, maybe done once, but multiple times in one novel with multiple bad guys doing it, especially with the explanation being that they taught themselves (or were taught) the apex fighting technique so they all just ended up using it... I didn't really like those scenes, otherwise, also, what's with the random links/notes? (Took a break and went to dinner... paused here..) I think some editors notes might have accidentally been left in...
This was a fun volume of the series. Desperate battles, new named foes, a couple ancient secrets, and some touching adopted family interactions filled my reading was th a good time. The footnotes in the last quarter seem to be leftovers from writing, granting insight for the creative process. Charming but misplaced.
I love the story and the subtle additions of the four sacred beast the dragon, phoenix, and the turtle. All that's missing is the tiger. Overall a great read. I like how the author makes use of the sub stages of each advancement instead of just making the characters stronger. Looking forward to the next book.
so far this is an interesting cultivation story it's got lots of logic as well as illogic to add the humor to the story. I like the characters they are well developed and the World building is progressing at a decent pace to keep it interesting. also there is a little bit of romance but mostly action and adventure and challenges for our main characters.
As this series continues the storyline develops additional layers and the character and cast list grow as well. This installment is handled well and most story threads are resolved by book’s end. A few remain open to tie the reader into the next book.
Another good entry into the series. The MC is finally getting his legs under him and looking like he will live up to his potential. I can't wait fornthe next book.
Very good book and a damn good series, the characters grow on you and you find yourself rooting for them . It was a wild ride can't wait for the next book in the series
