You can’t get more festive than this latest offering from Moorcroft, with lashings of snow, Christmas lights and love. It’s the perfect feel-good fiction to get you in the mood for the big day!

What I enjoyed most about this book was how varied and interesting all of the characters were. Reading a lot of books, after a time the characters can become quite similar with their backgrounds and personalities. Yet, Moorcroft has done something different with her story set in the beautiful village of Middledip, and this just made it all the more enjoyable.

Sky and Freddy are colleagues with a shared background. However, things turn a little sour between the two, with Sky finding herself returning to Middledip and the proud owner of The Corner House – a large, rambling yet neglected building that is needing some well-overdue TLC. Wanting to get immersed into the community, Sky agrees to take part in the Christmas light competition and, alongside trying to make the indoors liveable, Sky has the mammoth task of taming the wild garden and getting it ready for Christmas. I loved how independent and determined Sky is, making me feel she was the perfect match for The Corner House. I also really appreciated the environmental messages that Sky was keen to promote, thinking this is such a crucial element to real life today.

Not only is Sky’s background interesting, Moorcroft also explores how family relationships can become strained and are not always the most secure they should be. Her friend, Daz, also has some troubles at home and I was interested in how so many characters were connected with him. Loveable Wilf, absent Lewis and grumpy Graham… there was plenty of variety as I grew immersed in Middledip’s community.

Of course, it would be wrong to ignore the festive element of this story. As you would expect, it is in bucketful’s and I delighted in it every step of the way. (Is it wrong to want to put my Christmas tree up now?!) Plus, there were large quantities of biscuits and hot chocolate consumed, leaving me wanting to reach for the snack cupboard with a grumbling tummy – perfect! In my opinion, this is a great book to build on Christmas spirit, not only because of the snow, but the decorations, love and community closeness.

This was a lovely Christmas read and another winner from Moorcroft. It was a detailed narrative with interesting characters that made the story more enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed picturing the beautiful snowy scenes of Middledip and this was what helped make this a great piece of festive fiction.

With thanks to Avon books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“Wowsers Trousers” as young lad Wilf Brown would say. This is my first Christmas book of the year which I had on pre-order and I couldn’t have picked a better one to start off my Christmas reading. If I hadn’t had other things to do, I could quite happily have read this in one sitting.

With this latest outing, we are back in Middledip – the Cambridgeshire village of many previous books and it was lovely to see some earlier characters make returning cameo appearances. This book is very much a standalone though, with no prior knowledge necessary for enjoyment.

Sky Terran, our main character is a 39 year old property developer who for reasons I won’t spoil, ends up buying a large dilapidated house in Middledip. Sky is no stranger to the area as she and the village have history but it’s fair to say that someone’s nose is ever so slightly put out of joint when she first arrives.

The story is set in the lead up to, and over Christmas and I loved the wintry, Christmassy snowy feel of the story. As always with Sue’s books, there is a backstory with more serious issues being explored and the juxtaposition of these together with the lighter thread of romance and the Winter Street Christmas preparations gives a welcome feel of light and shade.

The supporting characters here are fabulous, mostly engaging in their own way and of course there are one or two that deserve all the curses. Normally a village like Middledip where everyone knows your business would make me head for the hills, but I love the community spirit and friendship offered, and I could quite happily live there, especially if I had someone like Marietta as a neighbour with her homemade cookies.

I loved Sky as a character. She had a troubled history but had made a fantastic life for herself through hard work and determination. She also had a great sense of fun combined with an acute awareness of social and ecological responsibility which underpinned everything she did. Young Wilf was a joy and as for Daz I really felt for him as his loyalties were torn and he was rather put in a no-win situation.

A White Christmas on Winter Street hit all the right notes for me – the romance element, an uplifting and thoughtful story, all wrapped up in a thick jumper of a wintry setting. I loved it and have no hesitation in recommending.

If I was only permitted one holiday book to read each year, my choice always would be the newest one by Sue Moorcroft. Each year she introduces us to someone new in the tiny English town of Middledip who, for one reason or another, need help in some way during the holidays. Through their very realistic lives, the ups and downs, the decorating and celebrations, we - the reader - learn what the holidays truly are about: friends, community, family or family that we've chosen. I look forward every year to visiting Middledip and thank Moorcroft for creating such a marvelous to come home to each December.

I randomly picked this book as a Christmas gift for my friend, and of course, I decided to flip through a few pages (and eventually read the entire book). While it did hook me in at some parts, I did not entirely connect with the characters and, in fact, this novel was completely different from what I expected. I did not find it as cute and lighthearted and heartwarming as I hoped it to be. Ultimately, I bought something else for my friend.

When Sky Terran's foster brother Freddy takes his fiancé Minnie's side over hers in a business matter, when Minnie is Sky's junior, she resigns on the spot. Freddy had spotted a large house in the Cambridgeshire village of Middledip up for auction which he wanted to develop into four luxury apartments for his property development company; Sky wanted to restore the house as a single dwelling, but had no intention of bidding against Freddy. However, when the bidding exceeds Freddy's maximum limit, but is well within Sky's personal limit she decides to buy it and restore it herself. Sky and Freddy were fostered together in Middledip for one brief year by a lovely woman called Nan Heather, then Sky's alcoholic mother claimed she was able to look after Sky again and Nan Heather retired so she never went back. Still Middledip holds very dear memories for Sky and with a rift between her and Freddy she flees back to the only place she truly called home.

With her chaotic childhood Sky learned very quickly never to rely on anyone else and that education and hard work were the key to escaping her circumstances, this led to the breakdown of several relationships and Sky lost touch with friends over the years as she concentrated on her career. Now, with no current employment she is realising how isolated she's become and determines to make an effort to make friends in Middledip, and what better way than helping Winter Street with its bid to win the annual Cambridgeshire village street decoration competition for charity?

Sky's rival bidder for the house at the auction was Darragh (Daz), he and his friends wanted to convert the house into a hostel for disadvantaged children, but Daz doesn't bear a grudge and soon he's helping Sky cut back all the overgrown trees in her garden and joining her in the local pub quiz.

I loved this classic Sue Moorcroft Middledip Christmas romance, although Sky could be a bit preachy with her teetotal, vegetarian, ecological ideals (albeit she only bangs on about the eco-stuff, the rest is just what she is). Overall however, a lovely feel-good, heart-warming, Christmas story. Perfect for those cold, wintry evenings (and not the 32 degree heat I'm currently sweltering in!).

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

What a warm and cosy read this was.

It was joyous to be back in Middledip once again, a village that I am utterly convinced grows quite a bit larger with each book that Sue Moorcroft sets there, as this predominately has a cast of all new characters, plus a fluttering passing of familiar faces.

But 100% this is a standalone, it's just fans of the author will recognise this setting, and The Corner House on Winter Street is a wonderful focal point for this story. As is the whole Christmas decoration contest pitting Winter Street against other streets in Cambridgeshire.

But it is so much more than a Christmassy story, for Sky Terran is a wonderful character, and her relationship with Freddy, her foster brother is interesting to say the least. It is also at the start not in the best of places which is upsetting Sky and leads her to quit her job with him and move back to Middledip.

And seeing Sky quickly become part of the community in the village is heartwarming to say the least. Especially her friendship with Courtenay and her son Wilf who have been going through a tricky time themselves.

And Sky is easily able to relate in a way to what Wilf is going through and it is so sweet to see him come out of his shell as the story progresses. She also cares about the environment and it was interesting to hear about solar powered Christmas lights, and fat cakes for birds in winter that can double as decorations.

And then there is Daz, who is a video game developer and tester which makes him my perfect guy on job alone, let alone all of his wonderful personality traits.

I just loved everything about these characters and this story and it was told with Sue Moorcroft's trademark warmth and sensitivity. There is a generous helping of Christmas Spirit sprinkled throughout the book too.

It is simply marvellous and really did make me feel as though I was in a winter wonderland at times. Another triumphant story from an author I absolutely love.

Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Sky Terran spent most of her childhood in foster care with Nana Heather in Middledip because of her alcoholic mother. Now as an adult, she works with her former foster brother acquiring homes and flipping them. When a house comes up for auction in the village that they grew up in, she works to convince Freddy to buy it. That is, until Freddy’s new fiancé forces her out of the company so she decides to try to buy it herself.
Sky soon finds that life in Middledip is just what she needed and joins in the street Christmas decorating competition. As she meets the various neighbors, including the handsome Daz, she finds a found family and a chance for romance.
This was a feel good Christmas read that is east to read and enjoy with a cup of tea and snuggled under a cozy blanket for the afternoon.

2.5 stars. Almost DNF. Wasn’t a cozy read for me at all. Loved the MFC Sky but the rest of the characters were dull and boring (except Wilf). Didn’t connect at all with the romance which was mostly non existent. No spice. I didn’t mind the plot which was nice but you got dragged in so many directions I just couldn’t toward the end. I skimmed through the last few pages and was glad when I was done. Bummer.

Another fantastic festive book from Sue Moorcroft!
A gorgeous setting in a beautiful community, it was fabulous to meet Sky and watch her reunite with a special place from her childhood.
Some emotional moments and as always dealt with very sympathetically. It was interesting to see how the characters overcame their difficult pasts, and how it made them view their future and relationships they make.
Lovely and festive, it was great spending time in Winter Street and meeting the inhabitants.
A proper Christmas treat!

I loved the storyline and festive feel throughout this book. Sky Terran’s backstory is a sad one as she was parented by a drug and alcohol- addicted single parent. The one bright light in her childhood was coming to stay with her foster mother in Middledip. It was here that she was introduced to Freddy, a foster child who became more like a brother to her. That is, until a recent falling out changed everything.

Now back in Middledip in a house that Sky purchased at auction, she determined to not only restore this home back to its former glory but also to make a point of shedding her workaholic lifestyle. The holiday season is already in full swing and the pressures of living in a close-knit community soon have Sky making friends and accepting help more than at any other time in her life. As happy as she is in her new home and community, she wishes to resume the relationship she once had with her foster brother.

She meets Daz at the auction where she made the purchase of the house – he was also bidding on the house. Despite his disappointment in losing the house to Sky, the two soon begin a friendship and then a relationship. Daz’s own backstory is well-written and meaningful. When Daz’s ex turns up in town, the relationship becomes strained and communication breaks down. Now the two most important men in Sky’s life are no longer part of her life.

I loved the festive feel of this book. There is plenty of neighbourhood activities, and Sky’s love of nature and the environment comes through strongly. There is a cast of supporting characters which are well-developed with their own interesting backstories. Wilf, a child in the book, is currently experiencing challenges that Sky can relate to. I loved the relationship that develops between the two of them.

A White Christmas on Winter Street is now one of my favourite holiday reads and one I will return to over the years. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys holiday reads.

If there was a scale against which you could rate a book for its sheer Christmasiness, this lovely one would be a guaranteed 10/10 – it had just everything I could have possibly wanted. When Sky moves into the neglected house – with its dreadfully overgrown garden – on the corner of Middledip’s Winter Street, she knows she has a lot of work to do to get it into shape for the Christmas street decoration competition. Everyone else is stringing up their sparkly lights – she’s wielding a saw and lopper and firing up her big red shredder, hoping she’s not going to let the street down on the night of the Big Switch-On (especially those rather scary ladies from the organising committee).

Fuelled by neighbour Marietta’s mugs of hot chocolate and double-chocolate-chip cookies – if you’ve been to Middledip before, you’ll already know how the community pulls together – she also finds that others who might have had their reasons not to be quite as welcoming are more than happy to muck in too. And as Christmas draws nearer, she has the opportunity to join in with other village activities and return a few of the favours, and it looks as if she might just have rather more friends around the dining table than she ever expected.

But there’s a lot more to this lovely book than that frenzied lead-up to Christmas – and if you’ve read any of Sue Moorcroft’s other books, you’ll already know how clever she is at weaving in an issue or two (or often several more). There’s a strong and particularly poignant back story to Sky’s attachment to Middledip – a particularly harsh childhood, made bearable by the care and loving home provided by foster mum Nan Heather, and her closeness to almost-brother Freddy. But there’s a nasty bit of betrayal and skullduggery that sees her walking away from her close friendship with Freddy and her job within his business (aargh – Minnie!) – although she finds she’s not as alone as she fears as she embarks on her new life.

Of course, there’s a rather lovely romance – that starts as an unlikely and supportive friendship before it heats up nicely, although there are so many obstacles along the way (I could insert another “aargh” here… Daz’s ex!) that it rather looks like it’s over before it’s properly started. And there’s a nice proportion of the story told from Daz’s viewpoint, as he negotiates the various minefields in his life, trying to do the right thing for everyone – he’s a rather lovely guy, and really worked for me as the flawed romantic hero. And something else I really liked about this story was the focus on Sky’s green credentials – the second hand tools and furniture, the recycling of the debris from her garden efforts, the solar powered lights, and the nurturing of wildlife with the home-made decorations on her tamed trees (a hack I’d rather like to try…).

Sky herself is a beautifully drawn character, lovely both inside and out, but there’s a really strong supporting cast too – a few Middledip residents you’d recognise from other visits (but nothing to worry about if you haven’t visited before), and others who go on to play a significant part in Sky’s life. There are family issues, friendships old and new, an abundance of kindness and love… and I think I really must give a special mention to young Wilf, one of my favourite youngsters in a book in a very long time. Despite his situation (which can’t help bring a tear at times), his “very Wilfness” and excess enthusiasm constantly brought a smile to my face – although his high energy approach to life certainly brings some moments of real drama too.

Add an abundance of snow, some sparkling lights, the scent of cinnamon on the air, and that perfect emotional touch the author unfailingly has – heartwarming and uplifting, this really is one of those perfect Christmas reads, and I absolutely loved it. One of my books of the year – just make sure you add it to your Christmas reading list too!

A WHITE CHRISTMAS ON WINTER ST
BY
SUE MOORCROFT.

Christmas is fast approaching, so what could be better than a festive trip to delightful Middledip for another seasonal tale.

Sky Terran has found herself at a crossroads in her life. Then an opportunity presents itself for Sky to purchase Corner House in the village of Middledip.

Sky has fond memories of Middledip having lived there for a brief time while she was being fostered by Nan Heather, who is now an elderly lady, but she still remembers Sky and is thrilled to see her back in the village.

Moving into Corner House is a fresh start for Sky and she quickly settles in and becomes a part of the community.

Sky meets some colourful characters, but one in particular captures her attention.
Daz, also wanted to buy Corner House, so initially the atmosphere between the two is a little frosty. However, things soon begin to thaw and they tentatively become friends and just maybe a little more.

Daz has his own stuff going on. His best friend has gone to prison, leaving behind his wife and young son. Daz plays a big part in both their lives, which is possibly misconstrued by some.
Daz also has a tricky ex girlfriend to manage. Can he finally move on from her? Or can she win Daz back?

Will Sky’s move bring her the love and security that she desperately craves?
And will everyone have the Christmas they deserve in Middledip?

This seasonal romp from Sue Moorcroft provides all the festive feels, but the story is so much more than just a Christmas tale.
As is so often the case with Sue’s books, there is some really gritty content to the story, which is always written in perfect harmony with the lighter side of the tale.

A White Christmas On Winter St, is a charming and engaging read. The setting of Middledip is idyllic and oozes warmth and community spirit.
There is a great cast of characters. They are well written and all have their own quirks and qualities that bring this story to life.

So, if you like a Christmas read with a strong storyline but still full of everything festive and fun, put on your Christmas pj’s and settle in for a cosy feel good festive read.

Reading a Sue Moorcroft book is like wrapping yourself up in a warming cuddle, and this book is no exceptions. Well written, and very well researched, it's one of those that will have you reading far into the night for 'just one more chapter'.

Sky and her foster brother Freddy were brought up in Middledip, and when Freddy takes his new fiancé's side over hers, and an opportunity comes up to buy a house in Middledip, it seems the answer to Sky's prayers. Sky soon meets Daz - who was trying to buy the same house, and his best friend's young son Wilf who soon captures her heart. Sky had forgotten how friendly the villagers are, and soon realises that their offer of help is genuine, and to fit in is to accept help. Throw into the mix Freddy's scheming fiancé, Daz's scheming ex girlfriend, Daz's best friend in prison, and some long lost family, this could be a Christmas that Sky didn't expect and will never forget.

Bundles of fun, as warming as hot mulled wine in the snow, as Christmassy as fairy lights at dusk, this book will warm your heart and leave you wanting more. A triumph.

A White Christmas on Winter Street by Sue Moorcroft is a wonderfully festive contemporary romance that I really liked.

I have been a fan of Ms. Moorcroft for a while now, so of course I jumped at the chance to read her new book. I was definitely rewarded!

I always love her ability to craft a beautiful village or town as the perfect backdrop to the overall plot. Her ability to create warm, realistic, and identifiable characters also always hits the mark.

I like how Sky and Daz had to work together for the greater good of the village and overcome their obstacles internally and externally to be able to find common ground and to evolve in regards to their own selves and in regards to their respective parts in their own relationships. I always like a good character growth concept.

Another great addition to the author’s books!

I enjoyed this story, it had the Christmas feels, but also a lot of side stories to it aswell. Each character was going through their own sort of turmoil, but the closeness of everyone on Winter Street helped them.

Middledip is a beautiful village captured in the imagination of Sue Moorcroft, and has featured in a few of her wonderful books. It’s also the perfect setting for Christmas and snow, and A White Christmas on Winter Street will give you full on Christmassy vibes throughout. Although the location is a familiar one, this book works perfectly as a standalone.

As a character 39 year old Sky Terran has had a troubled upbringing, and, estranged from her mother for many years, considers herself to have no family except her foster brother Freddy, who she met when they were both fostered in Middledip in their teenage years. Working with Freddy in property development, situations at work come to an impasse where Sky resigns and ends up living in Middledip again.

Pretty much as soon as Sky moves into Winter Street she is caught up in the Christmas street decorating competition, so not only does she have to clear her overgrown garden, she needs to decorate it with many, many Christmas lights. This competition and the way in which the people who lived in the street rallied round to help one another made this just so perfectly festive. Add a little snow and some animal footprints, and it couldn’t be more festive!

The love interest in this story, Daz was such a lovely man, determined to stay single and helping his best friend’s family as they adjusted to life in the village. Wilf was such an adorable 11 year old, inquisitive and enthusiastic, and as he found solace in hanging out with Daz, he was also drawn to hanging out with Sky because she was able to empathise with him in a way no one else could.

Sky was really ecologically sensitive, which, with a name like Sky Terran, is no surprise. I loved that her focus was in improving the landscape for both the villagers and the wildlife, and the way in which she made changes to her surroundings that would help. I think life would be much better if we all took a leaf out of her book.

Christmas, when it arrived, was unconventional but at the same time with a strong traditional vibe to it, and the snow just made it extra Christmassy.

A White Christmas on Winter Street is a perfect festive read, filled with warmth, community, and a little friendly competition!

This is a lovely story from Sue Moorcroft.

It centres around Sky, who works for a company that buys properties for clients to develop, with Freddy who she was fostered with when she was younger. When there are misunderstandings and clashes with Freddy and his fiancé Minnie, Sky decides 3 is a crowd and leaves the firm. When a property comes up for sale in Middledip, where she spent the happiest years of her life with foster carer Hannah, she sees this as a sign to restart her life.

This is warm, cosy, Christmas read.

I read Christmas Wishes back in December 2020 so I was delighted to be able to pick up this tale, A White Christmas on Winter Street as I know that Sue Moorcroft's writing style is a good fit for me.

This is a wonderful romance story, a light, uplifting read that many people look for at Christmas time. Sky Terran has lost her job running Freddy Walker Acquisitions, a property company with her foster brother, Freddy, and finds herself buying a beautiful run-down home - 1 Winter Street - in Middledip in Cambridgeshire. Sky's passion for the village where she spent a year with Nan Heather gave me a lovely opportunity to revisit Middledip and some of the characters from the previous book, but I believe the story would also be wonderful as a stand-alone read. Sky doesn’t really have a family to call her own and many folks have let her down so the tight-knit community of Middledip could be a real tonic for her or will it? The author deals with Sky’s wariness with care and the essentials for a perfect festive romance are all present; fairy lights, mulled wine, Christmas trees, snow, Christmas pudding all aflame, and cookies. Middledip village sounds like the place to be for Christmas. Add in a love interest also and the job is a good one!

This review was written voluntarily and my rating was in no way influenced by the fact that I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel from Avon Books via NetGalley.

A gorgeous heartwarming, festive read! It envelopes you into life on Winter St and rapidly has you rallying around Sky and the exploits of her life.

We see her immersed in her work, giving all and everything to the housing development job at work with her adoptive brother, to going back to her roots and happy memories to the place where she very briefly spent time as a child. She has a lot to overcome and trust to build, but we see her flourish in the close knit and welcoming community. It was so nice to read!

That coupled with a sprinkle of festive vibes, a Christmas light street competition and a found family Christmas, it’s perfect for that Xmas literary hit in December.

It was a super enjoyable read and had me excited to return whenever I had to put the book down. The narration was easy and effortless to listen to, which definitely added to the enjoyment. Couldn’t go wrong with this book! Lighthearted and as sweet as a mince pie. Lovely.

Thank you to the author and publishers on NetGalley for this book in return for my honest thoughts and review.

This book is just magical and really fuels my desire to get outside in the snow, I know it’s not likely to happen any time soon but when it does I’ll be donning my wellies and keeping my eyes peeled for the snow stories like Sky. Nature plays a massive part of this book and it’s prompted me to refill my little bird feeder set up – I’ve also been rather tempted to make some shaped fat balls as they sound incredible, rather festive and pretty simple – even if very messy!

Sky is a lovely character who hasn’t had the perfect upbringing but she doesn’t let this stop her and instead almost uses her experience to fuel her desire to succeed. She’s such a kind soul and I loved how quickly she got involved in the village activities, although it is helped by her neighbour Marietta welcoming her with hot chocolate and warm cookies, followed by an invite to the local pub quiz.

Daz is also a fab person but his kindness is almost his downfall as he can find it hard to say no which can sometimes lead to trouble. He’s taken on the role of shoulder for Courtney and Wilf and its the relationship with Wilf that draws him closer to Sky, you get the sense that something special could happen here as Daz starts to see Sky for who she really is.

As with Christmas Wishes it’s the younger generations who almost steal the show, seeing Wilf bloom and grow in confidence after listening to Sky’s stories and starting to integrate with the other children in the village is one of the highlights of the book and it gives that warmth to you. There are of course other heart warming moments in this book but I’m not going to spoil it for you so would just recommend reading it yourself.

This was such a lovely book from Sue, she’s got the balance just right with both happy and sad moments, but you finish the book with a smile on your face. I also can’t wait to start seeing the lights going up in my local area and will definitely look for a few more eco friendly ideas and ways to introduce more wildlife into my garden, especially birds as I’d love to sit and watch them from my window with a cup of tea in my hand.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for approving me for an ARC of this book. This was a first for me, having never read anything by Sue Moorcroft, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I had heard great things.

The story starts with Sky Terrain leaving her successful job behind and purchasing a property on the street, where she lived with a foster family. Sky comes from a very dark background and it was clear to me that she struggles to let people in. Her foster brother Freddie is the only exception but now that he has a new fiancée, Sky is starting to feel pushed out.

It’s not long before the locals are making themselves known and either enticing Sky to the local pub, or dictating what she should do to prepare for the annual street decorating competition. Whilst Sky may seem quite closed off she’s not shy about expressing herself and the way she handled the decoration committee had me grinning from ear to ear. She was firm without being rude and made it clear that she would do it her way and in her own time. The nature touches that were introduced in the story were lovely and once again showed how the simplest of activities can be the most enjoyable.

This book was filled with community spirit and I loved how Christmas Day turned out for them all. Wilf and Sky’s friendship was endearing; once again, she had that connection and ability to help, without taking control. I knew that Abby was up to no good as soon as she appeared on the scene but it was fun seeing her story play out and watching Daz kindly put her in her place.

Sky and Daz were destined to be together and (as is the case with most of these stories) you know where they will end up. They certainly kept us on our toes throughout which made for a more entertaining read. This book was about more than their romance though, it was about a community coming together, families reuniting and accepting their new relationships. I found that lump in my throat forming on quite a few occasions but I also laughed and smiled too.

This will not be my last Sue Moorcroft, I’ve actually downloaded a lot more of her audiobooks to make a start on in the new year!

I absolutely loved this Christmas read from Sue Moorcroft, I mean I may be a bit biased as she is one of my go to authors for a romance or even better, a Christmas romance like this is. Her stories have everything you could want in them, community, friendships, love obviously, but for this one you can add snow, Christmas spirit, forgiveness and hope.

Sky, I loved her so much, you can’t help but feel for her and connect with her , even if I’m not an eco-vegan perfect soul that she is, she’s so likeable and you just want her to come out on top every time. Darragh is our gorgeous leading man, he seems so perfect, gorgeous, charming (once the initial hostility has passed) and loves kids, is he too good to be true ? Well you’ll have to read it to find out because you’ll get no spoilers from me.

I loved reading about the restoration, let’s face it purchasing a gorgeous old house abd doing it up is a dream for a lot of people, or it is for me, so the only way I get close without winning the lottery is in books like this. I also love how the house is a haven, not only for Sky but for others too (again no spoilers) and becomes a central part of the community too.

I found this story quite emotional at times, with the histories and issues with the characters, it’s a hard heart that wouldn’t be moved by this story. I loved the end so much, absolutely beautiful, my mushy and soft self loved how heart-warming it was. But I guess you’ll have to buy a copy (or borrow from your local library) to find out how beautiful this gorgeous Christmas tale is , you won’t regret it.

Thanks to Sue Moorcroft and Rachel’s Random Resources for the opportunity to enjoy and take part in the blog tour for this beautiful story. For full disclosure I was given a free ebook in return for a voluntary and honest review, all opinions are my own and freely given.

Looking for a read that wraps you up, feeling cosy and warm, too?
Look no further, this is the book for you!
The theme of Christmas is predominant all the way through,
Permeating everything this delightful community do.

It is the story of Sky Terran, her present and past
As she moves back to the village where she was so happy last.
After a fall out with her foster brother and his wife to be
Sky resigns from her job, a new future she'll see.

An auction is where she buys the Corner House on Winter Street,
Learning how moving there changes her and others is a real treat.
A story of facing adversity whilst being true to yourself, too,
Supporting others and your dreams, hoping they will come true.

It is an emotional read, as adversity causes pain
But by working through it, there are many who will gain.
A new beginning in a place that holds special memories in her heart
With new friendships, challenges and a fresh start.

The influence of a traumatic childhood still have adult impact, too,
But understanding and support will help them all pull through.
There are plenty of problems, twists and turns they have to face
As this close knit community welcomes Sky into the place.

There's also possible romances, family drama and much more
As the annual street decorating gives them ideas to explore.
There's even a young man, facing troubles of his own
And a neighbour whose ex's return could really make you groan!

What a delightful read this proved to be
Full of problems to overcome, love and seasonal festivity.
For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
Such a wonderful wintry read and this is my honest review.

Warm, loving, and cozy are the words I pick to describe this Christmassy novel by Sue Moorcroft! Seen through two pair of eyes, the novel presents a common point in the life of Sky and Daz who get to experience the magic of Christmas in the village of Middledip, on the corner house of Winter Street. Although their relationship has a rocky start, both them and the supporting characters go through experiences which turn them in a group of lovable December characters. I liked a lot the way in which the audiobook was narrated by Hannah Brown, who does a great work of switching between the voices of the main characters.

If you’re looking for a quick and easy read, this is the book for you this December. Happy reading!

Special thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK Audio, Avon, and the editorial team for giving me the opportunity to review the ARC in audiobook format and to you, my reader, for taking the time to read this honest personal book review.

A White Christmas on Winter Street by Sue Moorecroft is my last Christmas book of 2022 and it has tied my festive reading off perfectly.
This novel is a standalone although previous novels by this author have also been set in this picture postcard village of Middledip, on our return we now meet Sky whose career as a property developer has taken a swift unexpected turn and she finds herself back in her childhood village after purchasing a home she is desperate to renovate herself.
There is a vast amount of supporting characters whose storylines are weaved around Sky’s to bring all the characters together and to help and support each other as we typically see in a village with its welcome ( and sometimes unwelcome ) community spirit. There is a blossoming romance that faces some bumps along the road but it made it feel a more genuine relationship that has its battles to face as two people really get to know each other. We have the sweet natured Wilf too who is a key character who is facing a big change in his family dynamic but having Sky and Daz to help him with various distractions was just what he needed.
There were a number of challenging situations that the author has tackled in this novel and she has done this with such care but at the same time has shown honest and true reactions to each situation rather than making everything rosy.
There is a wonderful Christmas feel with the book being set on the lead up to Christmas and over the festive period too so we had the perfect back drop with a snowy setting and Christmas decorating as well as a Christmas pulled together so nobody was alone.
A White Christmas on Winter Street is a definite recommendation from me if you are looking for a full on Christmas feel good read that tackles real life situation and struggles too.

This is the first book I've read by Sue Moorcroft and what a gorgeous one to start with.

Sky came across as such a lovely person despite her start and struggles through her life. She was so compassionate and caring. I also thought that Freddy was good for her but became very disappointed in him.

Daz came across as another lovely, caring person especially when it came to Courtney and Wilf.

As well as being a lovely read the author did tackle some sensitive subjects and I felt this was covered well. I also enjoyed all the references to nature and the environment and how he helped Wilf through talking about it.

The book brings a great sense of community spirit especially with the Christmas competition.

This is one book I would definitely recommend.
