I just love this series of different possibilities and reader-led stories- and my kids do too!! And the fact that they are by a Muslim author makes me super happy to support!
Genre: Middle Grade Ages: 8 and up Author: Hena Khan and Andrea Menotti Illustrated by Yancey Labat Publisher: Penguin Workshop
You are in the woods when you notice a sound, and then you follow the sound and find a device, and when you touch it, you turn invisible. But then you have a choice. Do you have what it takes to survive the challenge or will you reach multiple the ends? Are you a hero? Are you a villain? Will you survive?
Different choices lead to different outcomes, and the chapters aren’t too long. The fast pace of the plot and the action make it super engaging to follow. And I loved how useful this would be for reluctant readers- a storyline is short (if it ends badly lol) and so a reader has the opportunity to stop reading not too long in. And for those who love to read, it’s awesome because you can finish and go back again and again for more story creations.
I love how these types of books allow for readers to be a little more engaged and creative in their reading, and I feel like children will love having that power to pick their own paths.
I only read a few stories before my kids snatched it away from me lol, but I loved the adventure and can see children of all levels and backgrounds loving it too!
