if people compare their brain to a sponge... mine is drenched and soaked to its fullness, the only reasonable next step is to squeeze it out dry. Then I start to vomit guidelines and researches, chemodrugs and operative techniques because the next edition is due to come out this November. I have to learn new things to be able to cure your thing and her thing and his thing without excessively cutting parts that are necessary for one to function, at least until the next edition requires me to cut it entirely in the name of medicine.
I used this book to help prepare for presentations during my surgery clerkship. It was helpful for this but I would not recommend reading it cover to cover.
