I remember enjoying gardening in my childhood, when I used to grow plants like tomato, peas, chillies and some flowers in a huge pot on my terrace, with the help of my grandma. Times changed, we all grew up and that enjoyable hobby became a part of the past. And then I found this book, thereby discovering the author's famous and marvellous YouTube channel with the same name as this book's title, and I fell in love with my long lost hobby again!

The book is a brilliant, easy-to-use guide for beginners, discussing what our plants need, that is, the perfect environment and requirements of the plants that we can grow at our homes. It discusses individual plants, their needs, appropriate seasons to grow them and the perfect way to care for them. A beautifully illustrated handbook, with all essential information about various plants that we can sustain effectively through the advice shared in this book. It's a must-have and must-read for anyone who loves plants or gardening, for it consists of straightforward tips from the expert herself! It's quite an informative, educational, well-researched and enjoyable read, pretty from cover to cover, without sounding like a boring botany classroom! Just perfect!

The book is totally inclusive in all that is necessary for fruitful growth of plants in all kinds of spaces at home. The first part aptly titled what plants need has the basics of plant requirements and goes on to describe in detail factors such as humidity requirement and protection from extremes of weather.
.
From section two onwards we get to know in details about different types of plants, what they are grown for, issues and tips to grow them. There are pictorial representations at most places and the book is overall attractively presented.
.
Part 3 is a bonus section for gardening plans and includes gardening for children too!
.
Overall a very simply written useful book which can be read and used by everyone!

I made the decision to adopt a few plants this year. It's not a resolution; rather, it's a new interest I wish to pursue. Despite my interest, I have never been able to maintain a gardening routine. My mother loves to plant, and she keeps a backyard garden. However, I was unable to achieve it. It is quite motivating to see people who enjoy and cherish plants dedicate time and space to them.
While gardening can be enjoyable, one must also take careful care of the plants. With plants, you can't just do what you want; you have to follow their instructions. Garden Up is a great resource for teaching novices the fundamentals of gardening and plant growth.
Despite just having seven chapters, this book is clearly described. It begins with a section on the fundamental conditions for plant growth and then moves on to a section on "how to," where the author dispels any worries that new gardeners could have. The chapters that follow talk about edible, medicinal, blooming, and foliage plants. The author's explanation of the ideal conditions for each plant's growth, the purpose for which it is cultivated, and any problems that may harm these plants are the book's highlights.
The supplemental chapters, which cover topics like gardening for kids, common gardening words, and gardening planning, are informative. This book is succinct and direct. It's not one of those large gardening books with an overabundance of information.

If you are like me, unable to keep a plant alive, then this is the perfect book for you.

In this book, the author has shared articulately how to take care of various plants. This is a beginner’s guide to growing plants at home. She has told in details the following-
How to get rid of insects
How to propagate a plant
How to prepare compost at home, and many more useful tips.

What I liked the most about this book is the diversity of plants and flowers she talks about and how to take care of them- from roses to ferns to snake plants to tomatoes and gourds. She clearly has a lot of knowledge in gardening and I learnt many things from this book. I also learnt about so many new plant’s and flower’s name after reading this book.

This book also has many simple but aesthetic drawings of different plants and flowers, which makes reading this book even more fun.

Doubtless, this book is extremely useful book for everyone, but especially if you love plants but cannot keep them thriving for long. I also think this book will be a perfect book to gift to others. Highly recommend this book!
