This book features one-page devotionals, with a journaling page opposite for women to write down their reflections. Each devotion begins with a Bible verse, and then either unpacks the teaching from that verse or shares general encouragement and life advice. At the end, there are reflection and application prompts for readers to consider.
The devotions address many common issues that mothers deal with, along with things specific to being a stay-at-home mom. The readings also bring up various other life challenges that someone might be dealing with. Overall, it's clear that the publisher is trying to reach women in many different stages and life situations, and I appreciate that this isn't narrow or prescriptive. Also, although the book is very pink and traditionally feminine in appearance, the devotions are general and don't assume gender-stereotyped interests or personality traits for the reader.
This book is fairly fluffy and gets repetitive at times, but this can be a great short read for women who don't have time for something more, or who are using this as a supplement to something deeper. Many Christian mothers will appreciate the encouragement and the opportunities for reflection that this provides.
I received a free copy from the publisher through Amazon Vine in exchange for an honest review.
