There’s nothing better than being in a cowboy’s arms—unless it’s his kiss.
Shanni Davis hasn’t thought about that one kiss on prom—okay she had, but she tries not to. She moved past her infatuation with Cole Burke ten years ago when she left Peak City, Colorado, went to college, made a spectacular marriage mistake, had two great kids, and then a welcomed divorce. Now, she’s back home. She has a new career to focus on—she won’t think about Cole at all.
Cole Burke would know that face anywhere—the way her hair turns gold in the sunlight, the way she sways when she walks. Shanni is still off-limits, but a man can dream. It might be best to wait until after the nationals for bull riding—he needs to keep his head in that game, win the prize money, and pay off his ranch to have control of his life back. There’s a lot depending on an eight-second ride.
When an old friendship becomes new attraction, what will they do as life pulls them in opposite directions?
LOVED IT! Shannon & Cole have a sweet second chance story. Great chemistry between them. I Loved the play on the title and kissing/winning. Very swoony story and writing.
Rhett and Skyla were such a fun and sweet addition to the story. I love this sweet little family and kept hoping that they would have a sweet happy ever after! And that epilogue! Absolutely darling! I loved how it tied everything together and the sweet emotions that I felt from it! Again...I love this family!
I read this as part of the Sweet Kisses Box Set. It was one of my top favorites in the boxset.
Shanni's all grown up and with two kids in tow, she moves back to Peak City to start over after her divorce. What are the chances that the new accountant for his ranch would be someone from Cole's past? Shanni and Cole get another chance to see if they'd be great together--she's all grown up and her big brother has no say it the matter this time.
I love second-chance-at-love stories and this novella about Shanni and Cole hit the spot. Shanni's kids were adorable and I especially loved the kittens. I love how Cole was with Shanni's kids, and that they liked him right away. I liked how his bull-riding ties in with the title to the story. So cute.
I read this as part of the Sweet Kisses Box Set, it was one of my favorites out of the ones I've read so far.
This was a cute novella by Jo Noelle. I really like how the main characters came back together after years apart. I loved how Shanni told her brother to stay out of her love life because she can make her own decisions and I loved how from there it allowed her to pursue a relationship with Cole. I liked the use of all the bull riding timing. I like how the romance happened in this book and that they were the right fit for each other.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
Cole Burke, rancher, bull rider gets a new accountant, one he knows from his past. Shanni Davis, with her two children, Rhett and Skyla, move to Peak City to take her new job. Shanni's brother Drew, tells Cold to stay away from his sister.
I enjoyed this story. Kids and kittens with mountainous scenery. Peak City reminds me of Colorado Springs. You view a large mountain while traveling down the main street.
I loved this story. My interest stayed high as the pages turned. I wanted to find Cole and Shanni together. A great feel-good story with a wonderful ending.
They crushed on each other as teens, but his best friend–her big brother–warned him away.
Years later they meet up again... and big brother has no say in the matter now. :) She's got kids and they fall in love with the rodeo cowboy just like she does.
I have high expectations from a Jo Noelle story and this one met those expectations. Cole and Shanni were the perfect couple despite her brother’s interference. All over-protective brothers need to hear Shanni’s line, “While you’re trying to keep me from being hurt, you’re also keeping me from a chance to be happy—“. I love how Cole loves Rhett and Skyla. Book does have some surprises and teary moments, have tissue handy. Very good story.
Shanni and Cole’s story is a heartwarming page turner. Bring in some cute kids, adorable kittens and a few horses and you have the makings of a fantastic story! A story you won’t be able to put down! I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
This book was so good, a heartwarming captivating story. I loved Shanni and Colt's story and the children. A really great read. I look forward to more books in the series.
When Shanni returns to her hometown with her two kids after her divorce, she finds a job replacing an accountant who is going to retire On her first day of work, she meets up at the door to the office building with her brother’s best friend, Cole. She goes her way and he goes his way. He is on his way to meet with his accountant. He is told by his accountant that he is retiring and introduces him to his new accountant – none other than Shanni. Cole is recovering from an injury he got while competing in the rodeo as a bull rider. Shanni moves to the ranch that Cole owns and where her brother is the foreman. Cole meets her kids and nothing more needs to be said. Good job.
What a great story about the bull riding world. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story and learning about the characters. Great play on words too! Thank you Jo.
Jo Noelle really knows how to tell a super-clean contemporary romance. Shanni and Cole are a perfectly matched couple who demonstrate how perfectly they parent two adorable children. I admired how Shanni when she found herself on a date with a man who was definitely not “her cup of tea,” left him at the restaurant. Although silent as to exactly why she put her dinner in take-out containers, paid her own bill, and went home, she did not hesitate to bring the unsatisfactory date to a conclusion. Hooray for her! I found it amusing that Cole, the hero of this story, was acting as her babysitter at the time. What was even more amusing is that when her date picked her up, he gave her a bouquet of flowers. She asked Cole to put the flowers in some water as she went out the door. He did exactly that as he threw the bouquet into a sink filled with soaking dirty dishes.
Something that appealed to me was that, right from the start, both Shanni and Cole moved from being reacquainted to dating, to engagement, to marriage without any angst or burbles in their relationship. Also, I do not recall ever having read of a “surprise” wedding ceremony where the bride and company put together an elaborate wedding while keeping the event a secret from the groom until he is brought to the venue as the wedding guests are arriving. Yet, he is prepared with his own version of wedding vows that are perfectly appropriate for not only his new wife but also her two children. Well done, Ms. Noelle! Five-stars!
This story is so sweet you'll have to check your blood sugar level. Cole is a man women dream of having. He's kind, thoughtful, considerate, loving and handsome. Shanni is the Little Sister of Cole's best friend who has had a crush on him since she was a young girl. She and her two adorable children, have returned to her hometown to start over after a divorce. Read how these two people, who were ment for each other, get together will fill your heart with joy and dripping sweetness.
I grabbed this during Amazon’s fill your Kindle Day… The story line was right up my ally with this fun, clean, romance. However, I wasn’t a huge fan of the writing style. One paragraph would talk about one thing and the next would be week later. The ending also happened so abruptly. I turned the page and the story was just done. It wasn’t a bad story, just felt rushed and details could have been expanded.
A wonderful love story unfolds within these pages. Shanni and Cole meet again after several years and the sparks fly. Cole has a rodeo to win and Shanni has two children to raise. The kids live Cole as much as he loves all three of them. But then there's a death. What happens next? Read the book to find out.
Fun quick read. I enjoyed Shannon and her cute kids. Skyla and the kittens was hilarious and I could see my girls being the same way. I liked her friend Josie, I would love to have her as a friend!
I loved that even after years that's nanny and Cole could connect again. I was thrilled how Cole made her children feel so loved even after their biological father wouldn't.😊😊😊
I adored this book, it was so good. Neither of them gave up on the other, they knew what they felt, so they fought for it. Shanni finally had her chance with Cole and she took. Cole as wanted for so long and he could finally be with her. They were a fantastic couple and I loved them
I loved that there was very little drama! Just good people coming to love and appreciate each other and cute kiddos to keep things fun and interesting. Perfect story for when you just want to feel happy.
Super quick read as I finished in one night. Clean romance with a HEA – what is not to like about that? Really the only downside was that it was too short of a read. Hopefully we will see more of Shanni and Cole in future stories!
This was a cute, sweet, friends-to-lovers romance! It’s a good pallet cleanser between series or bigger books. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. The pacing felt off to me because it jumped time so quickly, sometimes even from paragraph to paragraph. It left me wanting more!
