Sweet and charming story

A slow build romance about Lady MaryAnn and Duke Adam. MaryAnn thought the convent could give her all she needs. Adam has been suffering from some illness for a while but found MaryAnn while searching for answers.

This is a book that keeps the day calm, not too dramatic, just a straight romantic book with a lovely storyline and lovable characters.

Beautifully touching!

Lady Mary Ann Hills, daughter of the Earl of Chesterfild, has spent years in a convent school but now her parents are coming to visit. She fears they will take her home to take her place in the Ton, something she has never wanted. While she is praying for guidance and meditating in the convent garden on whether to become a nun, she finds a gentleman in this woman-only sanctuary.

Adam’s search for a cure has failed and now he must return to his duties and ponder his future. Granted a night of rest at the convent, the Duke of Bedford seeks peace in the gardens where he stumbles upon a young woman. He is impressed by her intelligence and spirit which is so different from the typical women of the Ton. When they meet again in London their circumstances have drastically changed.

What a touching romance! Mary Ann and Adam are the epitome of a Regency couple. Fanny Finch always stays true to the period and knows exactly how to bring her characters to life in the story. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

This is a sweet slow build romance. The characters are victims of their own doubt and the path they expect fate to take them. When they realize how they provide strength and complement one another they have to decide if they will stand up and force their own path.

I enjoyed the slow build as it allowed the characters room to breathe and establish themselves more as individuals instead of just as a couple. They were both enjoyable even when they were conflicted. I recommend this story for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Endearing story well worth reading.

Lady MaryAnn has been educated at St. Albans Convent school but meets a handsome young Lord who asked for shelter on his travel back to London. MaryAnn's parents have asked her to finally come home, and she again meets the stranger, but he's none other than Lord Adam Russel, Duke of Bedford. You will fall in love with these characters, as their lives seem to be eternally intertwined. An endearing story with a happy ending.

This is really a great story. Mary Ann stayed the past 10 years at a convent but her parents were ready for her to come home. She really wanted to become a Nun. Restlessness, waiting for her parents to arrive, she couldn’t sleep . Wandered down to the garden , there she met Adam , sitting on a bench. Just the beginning of their story, such a sweet romance, enjoy.

An interesting tale with new ways to look at the relationships. I liked that there was no real villain, everyone had both good and bad characteristics. It did take the hero way too long to realize his conflicted feelings! Altogether a very good read.

Really bothersome:
1--heroine baths every day, sometimes twice a day ( not the standard for Recency
2--priest would not have allowed couple to write and recite personal vowes
3-- parents probably would not have allowed heroine to set and control her schedule

Very sweet story

It was refreshing to read a story with characters with such strong principles. Mary Ann and Adam were both very interesting characters and the trials they faced were unusual and truly monumental. Good story and a quick read.

This was a sweet light read and I really enjoyed it. However it needed a lot of editing. I found words left out and some misspelled.

Follow your heart

This was a sweet story strongly intertwined with religious ideals. Mary Anne having been educated at a convent for the last several years made for a very intellectual, reflective and modest character. I really enjoyed watching her interact with Adam, who also has a very unique situation. It was wonderful to see their relationship grow and true caring feelings be revealed. This was a very sweet story with a sweet extended epilogue as well.
