Her Secret Amish Past by Dana R. Lynn is a page turner. Joss’s life turns into a nightmare when someone leaves an ominous note on her car. Joss’s mother has them packing a suitcase and quickly departing. Unfortunately, the trouble follows them, and their car ends up going through a guard rail. Joss’s mother, Linda ends up in the ICU. Joss has no clue why her mother had them on the run or who is after them. Sergeant Steve Beck is the first responder at the scene. Joss feels safe in his presence which is a good thing because whoever is after Joss and her mother is determined and ruthless. I like the author’s writing style. I was easily drawn into the story. I stayed up late to see how the story would turn out. I enjoyed getting to know Joss and Steve. I liked watching their relationship develop. Steve is protective and caring. He can relate to what Joss is experiencing. The author did a wonderful job at expressing the emotions so that the readers can feel them. Both Joss and Steve are Christians. The faith element was light, but it was present. I like how the action escalated which ramped up the tension. The suspense kept building which is what had me quickly flipping the pages. I enjoyed the epilogue which nicely wrapped up the story and left me with a smile on my face. Her Secret Amish Past is the fourteenth book in Amish Country Justice series. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone. I cannot wait to read Crime Scene Witness when it comes out this spring. Her Secret Amish Past is a gripping tale with a menacing missive, a deadly adversary, a car chase, a shielding sergeant, a protective pooch, and a bewildering revelation.

Terrific book that kept me so engrossed that I read it in one sitting. I ached for Josslyn, who had her entire life upended because of one anonymous note left on her mother's car. I felt her confusion at her mother's panic, her fear when they were shot at, and her desperate need to know the truth. When an armed assailant rammed their car over a guard rail, they were rescued by police sergeant Steve Beck.

While her mother was in the hospital, Steve was determined to keep Joss safe and discover why she was in danger. Matters become more complicated when her mother is murdered, and Joss finds that her mother is not really her mother. The discovery of an Amish child's dress and a faceless doll are their only clues.

I liked Joss. Because of her rootless childhood, she has great inner strength. Though unnerved by the attacks on her, she is determined to find out the truth. Steve's support means the world to her, and she finds herself leaning on him more than expected. I liked Steve, too. He's a good man with a calling to help people, driven by the ghosts of his past, and something about Joss makes that need even stronger.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship develop between Joss and Steve. His protectiveness was undeniable, though he tried to fight the feelings underlying it. When they were apart, he couldn't stop thinking about her or worrying about her safety. I loved how he always understood how she felt and knew what to say to help her. But as his feelings for her grew stronger, he believed he was too broken to be the right man for her. Joss also felt her feelings for Steve growing, but her pride wouldn't allow her to seem "needy" by showing how much he meant to her. I wanted to shake him at the end when he let his fears keep him away. Thank goodness he saw the light and knew what he had to do. I loved the sweetly awkward yet emotional scene when he picked her up at the hospital and took her home. It was topped only by the epilogue, which was fantastic.

The suspense was terrific and kept me turning the pages from start to finish. The frequent and escalating attacks on Joss showed how determined the bad guy was to keep his secret. As each thread unraveled, they came closer to finding out the truth of Joss's identity, and the danger came ever closer. Just when I thought it was all over, an unexpected twist again put Joss in the crosshairs. The resolution was a nail-biter with a very satisfying ending.

I'm looking forward to learning more about the Bender family, especially Micah and Isaiah.

Dana R. Lynn penned a captivating suspenseful tale in Her Secret Amish Past, that I couldn’t stop reading. Josslyn Graham’s life was shattered when she discovered a threatening note. Sergeant Steve Beck was the first officer at the scene. He committed himself to keeping Josslyn safe along with rest of the department during the investigation. The intense moments are heart pounding and realistic in every aspect. I admired the strength and faith of the characters along with the discoveries they found for Josslyn past and family. I highly recommend this book to Amish fans who love suspense, faith, community, family and romance blended together.

I received a complimentary copy of this book without any obligation to write a positive review. I have expressed my own opinion.

'I KNOW WHO YOU ARE.'

Imagine finding those words in a note that's been stuck under your windshield wipers! How would you feel, and better still, what would you do? Josslyn Graham doesn't know what to think but it doesn't take long for her to become trapped in a web of secrets, lies, and constant danger! Author Dana R. Lynn takes readers on a thrilling ride of suspense. adventure, twists, and turns, but she blends them with a mix of intriguing characters, inspiring faith, and sweet romance. This story has something for everyone!

Her Amish Secret Amish Past is another exciting book in the Amish Country Justice series, but it can certainly be read as a standalone. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to see what's next in this Amish Country Justice series! Great job, Dana R. Lynn!!

I received a copy of this book from the author but there was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

A lot of punch packed into small story that has you holding on tight as everything spirals out of control in Josslyn’s life. Secrets, lies, threats, danger, and a little romance to keep it all interesting. The author sucks you into the vortex of the story and spins you out with a satisfying ending . A quick but pleasurable read with great characters of faith. I highly recommend.

Hang on to your kapps, folks, because author Dana R. Lynn takes your on an action-packed ride full of twists and turns!
Josslyn “Joss” Graham, a single woman living with her mother, has finally been in one place for a number of years after constantly picking up and moving. She finds a note on her car one snowy evening…”I know who you are.”, and from that moment on, her quiet existence explodes, exposing secrets and lies, and driving her on the run from a killer…but why?
Sergeant Steve Beck responds to a “shots fired” call, and finds Joss and her mother’s car crashed down an embankment. What starts as an investigation into a “shoot, hit, and run” turns into a years-old puzzle, and protective detail for Joss.
As they spend more time together, the sparks are undeniable. But Steve holds onto guilt from his past - guilt that shouldn’t be laid at his feet - and can’t let himself feel anything for anyone, or be responsible for anyone. But can the Lord work in his heart to show him the burden isn’t his? Can Joss and Steve realize that the path the Lord has for each of them is one they should travel together?
You will not want to put this book down, so settle in for awhile. It’s worth it! Plus it has my favorite…an epilogue!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

Thank you in advance to the author, Dana R. Lynn, for providing a complimentary review copy through her launch team. A positive review was not required nor requested, and all words are my own.

As of note – this is the LONGEST running series I’ve read by an author. This is the 14th book, and there is a 15th one set to release July 25, 2023.

I have the entire series on my TBR list (well, books 1-12), and this is the second one I’ve read. I read the 13th book, Amish Cradle Conspiracy back in June 2022. While some can act as standalone reads; I truly believe readers would get the best impact by reading the previous books.

In all honesty, my first introduction to “Amish Suspense” came with Harrison Ford’s Witness (1985). Honestly – that song (cover of Sam Cooke’s “What a Wonderful World”) and the barn dance? How could I NOT like it?

But, it wasn’t until I became a “host” through JustRead tours that I discovered both Amish romantic-suspense and Amish romance.

Right off, the cover of this book drew me in, but it was the back blurb that REALLY got me hooked. Joss – kidnapped from an Amish community with no memories of her past life.

Despite this being part of a series, only certain characters return, with some being introduced in previous books:

🚓 Nicole – Amish Country Threats (book #10; June 29, 2021)

🚓 Chief Mike Spencer – Nicole’s boss

🚓 Lt. Kathy Bartlett – Amish Cradle Conspiracy (book #13; May 24, 2022. She was previously a Sergeant, and later wounded in that book. She returns here along with a promotion)

🚓 Sgt. Steve Beck – Amish Cradle Conspiracy (book #13; May 24, 2022; introduced in this book)

Lynn introduces:

👩🏻 Josslyn Graham
👩🏻‍🦳 Linda Graham/Emily Hogan
🚓 Micah Bender

There are going to be some potentially disturbing themes of kidnapping and baby-selling (these are the background points, but occur prior to the story) as well as a bombing that kills an officer.

This opened with an ominous message: “I KNOW WHO YOU ARE” stuck under the windshield wiper of Joss’ mother’s (Linda) car. This spooks Linda in having Joss pack up so they can leave – yet again, something Joss is tired of. [As someone who moved a lot from age 5-18, I tend to agree with her – I’d be tired of moving as well].

But, they’re too slow for someone stalking them and Linda is shot.

Steve is the one who responds and guards Joss who has little clue as to who wrote the shot and who shot her mom. One thing is certain – she got a look at the shooter.

It is at the E.R when Joss gets a shock – her blood type doesn’t match her mom. Joss is O, and Linda is AB. While Joss can give to her, there is something wrong. Joss is questioning almost everything about her life, and Linda’s motives.

Mike tells Steve to stay with Joss as they’re short-handed.

The accident reminds Steve of losing his family some 15 years earlier when his father drove drunk. In addition to his father’s death, Steve (then 15) lost his mother, and twin sisters who were 10. He feels guilt over not being able to stop it – though in all honesty, he likely couldn’t have and would’ve been dead as well had he been there.

The two head to the tow yard to retrieve the note as whatever Linda was running from is big and deadly. Yet, Joss is targeted there, and another person ends up dead. And, the note isn’t there.

Some clues about Joss are in Linda’s journal and phone. That leads Joss back home and she finds an Amish dress for a little girl along with a tattered Amish doll. Joss soon gets the feeling – these belonged to her, though she can’t remember.

Joss and Steve learn Linda’s real name – Emily. And, they learn she was married to a man by the name of Kevin, someone who dealt in black market babies.

This leads to many questions for Joss as to whether she wants to meet her biological family, she also knows she won’t be part of their “world”. Steve is wondering why “Linda” didn’t just take Joss to the police.

A U.S Marshal comes forward – Micah Bender – who knows Joss’ identity. Formerly Amish himself, he identifies her as his sister, having known what happened the day Joss/Christina went missing. And, it is the Bender family who offers Joss a safe place to hide while Steve and the rest of the police department track down Linda/Emily’s husband.

Joss and Steve get close in a will they won’t they. He doesn’t think he’s good enough for her, and she is under the impression she’s just another case to him.

And, Lynn keeps readers’ attention until the very end for not only the case resolution, but the romance as well in this edge-of-the-seat, suspenseful, and exciting read with a high body count and intense plot.

This was definitely an “I can’t put this down” read. The “shortish” chapters (for the line) and fast-pacing really kept me reading. And, if it weren’t for some errands and a family issue I had to deal with, I could’ve EASILY read this in 1-2 days. I have been known to read a book of this size in a day.

One of my favorite things was the “balance” in the story with [slight spoiler] Joss not returning to the Amish community after discovering who she was. I’ve seen it in too many books, and it is a relief to see the Amish/Englisch family balance. I also liked her idea of her name – combining her first and last name for her identity.

One thing I do have a hate/like relationship with – but it is NOT solely unique to this author – is the “I’m not good enough for anyone because of my baggage” trope. I hate it because it seems SO overused, but then again … there are moments I go through it myself. So, it is one that I tend to sigh and go “ugh, really”; yet I totally get it.

But, overall – I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed this read! It was close to perfection!

There was an unresolved plot point. I was curious as to WHO hired Kevin to kidnap Joss as a child. That was left open and I REALLY hope to get an answer down the road.

At first, Kathy seemed like a witch, but after reviewing what happened to her in the previous book, I kind of understood. And, after a while, I did kind of like her. I was happy to see she not only returned, but was promoted as well. Though, I would’ve liked some mention of it.

I definitely felt so sorry for Mike when Steve said he didn’t want his job and Mike agreed he didn’t even want his job.

I had to laugh at the suspect who was a victim of the dog, Princess. He wanted to “sue” and it was far too much, though honestly – I could see it happening.

And, I also had to laugh at Joss who wanted to pack her books, journals, and favorite pens. As someone who LOVES and collects pens – I don’t think I could choose which ones to leave behind. I have a HUGE reusable shopping bag full packed, and some more on my desk, even more in a box or two. Same with my books and other stuff. I’d honestly need an SUV (BIG bad Chevy Suburban) for just me and my stuff 🤣

That said …

Despite this being an Amish story and part of the Christian line of Harlequin (Love Inspired Suspense), there were no real faith theme tones. It was lighter in faith, but not completely devoid.

I am DEFINITELY going to sign up for the author’s launch team for the next book in the series. From the Amazon description – it looks like this will be Zeke Bender’s story. Readers of this book will immediately note that is Micah and Joss’ brother.

Fans of the author and genre definitely won’t want to pass this book up!

HER SECRET AMISH PAST by Dana R. Lynn is the 14th book in the Amish Country Justice series. It’s the well-crafted, suspenseful story of Jossyln “Joss” Graham, as all she knows seems to unravel right before her eyes, and Sergeant Steve Beck, who tries help her figure out the answers while keeping her safe.

Joss’s life had always been different than most growing up what with picking up and moving every year or two with no time to put down roots or make lifelong friends. Their ten year stay in Sutter Springs, Ohio had by far been the longest stay anywhere. But she had always knows her mother, Linda, had loved her. She thought they had a close relationship up until she found that note on the car windshield. That note sent her Mom in an absolute panic and they were on the move again leaving most everything they had behind them. As they rushed to get away, from what she didn’t know, they were ambushed by a huge SUV that ended up pushing their car over a guardrail causing it to roll upside down before crashing to a halt. Coming to, she realized her mother was hurt and bleeding before she lost consciousness again.

That’s the way Steve happened upon the scene shortly after an SUV sped past him. After he found them, he called for help. He managed to get the injured young woman out, but was fearful of doing more damage to the other one deciding to wait on emergency personnel. At the hospital, her mother needed a quick blood transfusion and that’s when she found out that Linda, the only woman she’d known as Mom, actually wasn’t her biological mother making her doubt everything she knew. After finding out that the man with the steely eyes in the car that had rammed them had shot her mother, they knew for a fact that the crash was no accident. Why and by whom they didn’t have a clue. Knowing they were in danger, Steve made up his mind to keep Joss from harm in any way he could.

When more attempts were made on Joss’s life along with the successful murder of Linda, their need to find answers grew and Steve’s desire to keep Joss safe began to take on a life other than his duty at work. Meanwhile Joss was taking comfort in knowing Steve had her back. It was only when he wasn’t around that she became fearful. Plus he was there for support when the truth of her beginning in life started to come out along with all the many falsehoods she found in the things she thought she knew about her and her mother’s lives.

Can they find the pieces to the puzzle of Joss’s shattered life? What part does a little girls Amish dress and a faceless doll play in Linda and Joss constant moving? Could she possible have a whole family of relatives out there that had been looking for her? Will they find the one behind all the attacks before it’s too late? How many people will lose their lives at the hand of this madman before he’s caught? When it all ends, then what? Is the relationship between Joss and Steve just two people helping one another or is it something special? Or will Steve’s feelings about the past having him feeling that he has nothing to offer?

HER SECRET AMISH PAST is a fast pasted, page turning story full of excitement, adventure, danger, sparks of romance, loss as well as gain. It’s all wrapped with a thread of faith showing us that we might not have the answers ourselves, but if we look to God, who has it all under control, we can find peace in events that come into our lives and that it takes a leap of faith to open ourselves up to another completely. Dana R. Lynn has done it again! She written another fabulous addition to the Amish Country Justice series while at the same time making it a fabulous standalone book. I can’t recommend this book enough to everyone that loves a wonderful Christian love suspense book. It most definitely gets my FIVE STARS!

This is a well-paced romantic suspense story set in a small-town Sutter Springs, which is not far from an Amish community.

Joss Graham and her mum, Linda, look to leave town abruptly because of a mysterious note left on the windscreen of their car. Joss is confused, Linda won’t tell her anything, and then out of nowhere they are knocked off the road after shots were fired at their car. The car rolls down an embankment before landing upside down.

Steve Beck is the first policeman to respond. He’s shocked by what he finds. This is just the beginning of a series of surprises and twists and turns keeping we readers turning pages.

Judging by the book’s title, there’s a bunch of secrets that Joss must uncover. Why did her mum insist they leave so abruptly? What is her mum not telling her?

It’s good to read. As one clue is answered, another stumbling block arrives, stopping Joss getting answers to her questions. Is she Joss Graham or someone else? Steve is always by her side which is just where Joss wants him to be as she terrified of being alone. There’s a killer out there who wants her dead. As the body count grows, Joss’s fears escalate.

The story has a clever premise but lacks some of the subtle touches that makes a great suspense story sparkle and leaves the reader on the edge of their seats. This didn’t do it for me.

Often there’s too much explanation rather than showing us the action. A key individual turns up out of the blue which I didn’t understand. How did he know to follow Joss and Steve? It kinda didn’t make sense. This was a critical piece in solving Joss’s family of origin matter.

I also didn’t quite understand the rationale behind the original premise of Joss’s disappearance twenty-two years go.

I enjoyed the romance element. Steve’s ‘I can’t let you into my life because I’m a cop and might get killed on duty’ is understandable but I guess as Joss quite rightly points out that’s her decision to make not Steve’s.

It is an entertaining read and judging by most of the reviews has found a very receptive audience who have read several of the stories in this series.

Her Secret Amish Past by Dana R. Lynn starts off with a mysterious note found on Joss Graham’s mother’s car. When Joss mentions the note to her mom, she tells Joss they need to go NOW. This starts off a chain of events that turns this woman’s life upside down. Everything she once knew is not as it seems. The only positive is that the officer who was first on the scene is by her side every step of the way. Sergeant Steve Beck has a past of his own. He’s lost his whole family a long time ago in a car accident. He’s determined to put the past behind him, but he still harbors fault for his family’s death. He and Joss are investigating who is behind her mom’s shooting and the note left on the car that day. The further they get into this investigation, the more dangerous it gets. Along the way they both start developing feelings for each other. Joss is fiercely independent and Steve is still being haunted by his past. Can they put aside their issues to figure out what is going on?
Oh boy, where to begin? This is one heck of a page-turner. Just when things seem to settle down, they don’t. LOL. Definitely a lot of action and suspense in this one. Also if you have read previous books in this series, you may recognize a few characters that have popped up in a few of Dana R. Lynn’s books. I definitely love that. That’s why I like series. I love how you get little glimpses of these characters in other stories. There is an epilogue. Yay! I cried at the end as usual. This one will leave you with a smile on your face. I really hope that there are more books in this series. I felt that a few more characters here are begging for a happy ending. If you want an intense, suspenseful action packed story then don’t delay. You’ll want to find out all about Her Secret Amish Past. I was given a copy of this book, but all opinions are my very own.

My review today in on the Love Inspired Suspense, Her Secret Amish Past. This is book is fourteenth in the series, Amish Country Justice. I love Amish books and I love suspense so Dana's books are special. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of faith. This is an awesome book and I know you are going to love it.

Josslyn Graham's mother is shot at which time she finds out that her whole life is a lie. She receives a note on her car, "I know who you are." Now she is a target by a killer. She has no idea why. An Amish doll is her only clue but she recognizes it. Does this have anything to do with her past. Who is she running from?

Sergeant Steve Beck hears the dispatcher's voice declaring shots fired. He responds. He meets a SUV on his way to the shooting. He calls it in. He goes around the curve and sees a mangled guardrail. At the bottom of the steep hill he finds two women. The driver appeared to be hurt the worst. The daughter answers his requests.. Medical help arrives. Can he help these ladies?

An terrifying journey into Joss's past can the find the secrets before it's too late? God has a plan for these two a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Even in this time of chaos.

Her Secret Amish Past is written by Dana R. Lynn. This is a Love Inspired Suspense book that will have your heart pounding throughout the entire book. The author introduced some of the characters in previous books but this book can be read as a stand alone.

Josslyn Graham finds a cryptic note under her mom’s windshield wiper. The note reads “I know who you are”. When she tells her mother about it Josslyn is told to pack her bags and get ready to move. But her mother won’t tell her why. While they navigate the icy snow filled roads someone pulls up beside them and shoots into the vehicle. Suddenly they are off the road and injured.

Sgt. Steve Beck is the closest to respond and he gets there first. When he hears what Josslyn is telling him he feels it’s his duty to protect her. Suddenly the life Josslyn knows starts to unravel and she has no idea who she is.

Who is trying to kill Joss? What was her mother hiding? It seems that every turn that Steve and Joss make someone is there trying to eliminate her. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Thank you to the author and publisher to allow me to read a copy of this book- all thoughts are my own.

Josslyn Graham's world is rocked when her mother suffers life threatening injuries. They are running from unknown assailants in her mom's car when they are forced off of the road. Joss is beyond shocked to discover that her mother is not really her mother (at least by blood). She finds out that she has been adopted. Joss and Sgt. Steve Beck are determined to unravel the mystery of why her mother would have done what she has done. They also need to find out the identities of the violent offenders who are chasing Joss now. Don't let the "meek" cover with a beautiful Amish woman fool you. This is a tense, action-packed mystery and thriller that will set your teeth on edge! I was completely engrossed in this book for a couple of hours! I could not wait to unravel the mystery to find out who Joss really belonged to and why her mother did what she did. There is a wonderful inspirational message in the story as well with some romance interwoven into it too.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Her Secret Amish Past by Dana R. Lynn is a real page turner! There are so many unexpected twists. You won't be able to put it down.

Josslyn Graham and her mom find themselves on the run again, after Josslyn discovers a mysterious note. Josslyn's mom will not give Joss any answers as to why they are running, and they soon find themselves involved in a drive by shooting that causes Josslyn's mom to wreck their car down an embankment.
Sergeant Steve Beck is the first one to arrive on the scene of the wreck. He stays with Josslyn and her mom until help arrives and they are transported to the hospital. Sergeant Beck and Josslyn end up working together to try and find out answers to all of the secrets of Josslyn's past, and in the process of searching, Josslyn Graham ends up becoming a hitman's target.

I highly recommend this book that is packed full of suspense and some romance too!

This is by far a great suspense story. Loved it!!!

Author Dana Lynn captures your attention from the first page to the end. A different kind of story for me to read, I was glued to the pages in a day. The story of Joss and Steve is a mixture of strength, Inspiration, second chances, suspense and love.

Joss grows up moving from place to place with her mom, is it her real mom?? They are ambushed on the road to safety and the mystery of her past comes face to face with her in a suspense rollercoaster of detours and questions. I just enjoyed the way Author Dana, wrote this story. Bringing the Amish and suspense together. A kidnapped child, a young girl and a future of hope and happiness if they are willing to open up their hearts to it.

You need to grab a copy of this book and add it to your library. I can't wait to read about her brothers Micah and Isaiah.

I received a ARC from the author. I was not asked for a positive review. All comments are my own.

Her Secret Amish Past is a thrilling story written by Dana R. Lynn. This story has a fantastic story line filled with so many amazing characters and suspense which build with every turn of the page. I was glad to see Sergeant Steve Beck in this story and to learn his very unique story. This story is filled with secrets, loss, family, forgiveness, and love. This is a very intriguing story. The mystery that is uncovered really keeps the readers interest to the end.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

This story will take you on a fast paced adventure!
“The only question in her mind was whether she’d be killed by a bullet or by the hound intent on breaking through the door.”
“Without warning, he lunged at her. Shrieking, she jumped away, taking a vase from the coffee table and hurling it at his head. He ducked. The fragile dish shattered against the wall. Glass scattered in all directions. It crunched under his feet as he advanced toward her. There was nowhere else to run.”
I received an ARC of this book for review. I was not required to write a favorable review. All opinions in this review are my own.

Another terrific book by Dana Lynn!

The book starts out with Josslynn Graham and her mother being pursued and shot at by unknown assailants. Joss’s mother is killed and her world is turned upside down when she learns that her whole life has been a lie. Who is she? Where did she come from? Why is her life being threatened? The only clue she has is an Amish doll that she has a vague memory of holding as a child. Sergeant Steve Beck comes to her aid and is determined to protect her and help her find the answers she needs.

Be prepared to be spell bound til the end! Highly recommend.

Spellbinding and intriguing. Joss finds out her mother is not really hers. What she finds out is shocking. With the help of Sgt. Steve Beck, they try to find out who killed the woman who raised her and is now after her. She also tries to connect with her Amish parents. With tensions high and romance blooming, they always seem one step behind the killer. An exciting romantic suspense story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

A part of the Amish Country Justice series, this book can stand alone. True to form, Dana R Lynn grabbed my attention at the beginning and kept it until the very end. This story is packed with action as well as a few twists and turns. I could feel the emotions and empathize with the main characters. I have read the entire series and this is one of my favorites of the series so far. I highly recommend this book.

My first book in this genre/ from this author, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality? It's not a literary classic, but I could easily see how it could be someone's comfort read. It was a great balance between plot, romance, and suspense. Genuinely had some good twists in there that I didn't expect.

Also, I want to make an amish doll now, so there's that.
