One of my greatest reading joys is starting a new series, and I’m thrilled to have read author Lisa Jordan’s Rescuing Her Ranch. It’s the first book in her new Stone River Ranch series. There’s a passel of Stone siblings, and I can only hope we get a book for each one.
Macey Stone is back home in Aspen Ridge, Colorado, driving all night from Denver after a disastrous and humiliating end to her nannying job. Hours after arriving home, she finds herself the last place she wants to be - on the doorstep of Cole Crawford to watch his sweet little girl, Lexi.
Cole was her best friend, but he didn’t stand up for Macey at their high school prom a decade earlier, and she’s avoided him ever since. Cole works for his uncle as a property developer, and his uncle wants part of the Stone River Ranch land. What Wallace Crawford wants, he usually gets, by whatever means necessary.
But what happens when you have a code of ethics and your uncle/employer doesn’t? What happens when you realize the former best friend is turning into the woman you love, but you are on opposite sides where her family’s land is concerned? Cole doesn’t want to pursue getting Stone land, but he needs benefits for his daughter’s medical condition, and Lexi has to come first.
Despite all the obstacles, the question really becomes, “What happens when you stop trying to run the show and turn your burdens over to the Lord?” It’s amazing how a tangled web becomes unknotted when you let the Lord be the weaver.
You will love this sweet story, plus it has an epilogue! I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

Starting over is hard to do, but it just might bring this cowgirl home.

Macey is shocked to find that her old friend's uncle is set on turning her family's ranch into a mini-mart, will the land conflict get in the way of her growing feelings for Cole. An engaging small town romance, with themes of second chances and starting over. I liked how Macey took time to get to know Lexi, and comes to care for her deeply, while reconnecting with Cole. I also liked her close knit family and how they were all supportive of each other.

Cole is a good man in a tough spot, he wants to be a good father to his daughter and be able to provide for her, but as a result he has a decision to make. He is a hardworking man in a tough spot, and I liked seeing the relationship between Cole and Macey develop.

Overall, an enjoyable read with characters that you can root for throughout. Great plotline and wonderful setting, I look forward to reading more books in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I absolutely loved Rescuing Her Ranch by Lisa Jordan. I also love the fact that it is the first book in a brand new series, Stone River Ranch. If the remaining books in the series are as wonderful as Macey Stone’s story, it’s bound to become one of my favorite series!

I really enjoy reading books in the Love Inspired line because they are clean romance books, and they’re Christian inspirational books. You know that faith in God will play an important role in resolving issues the characters may have. I know that my faith in God brings me peace even though I may not always get the outcome I desire. God always has something bigger in mind.

That’s what happens to Macey in Rescuing Her Ranch. I’m sure that Macey never dreamed she would leave her job as a nanny under awful circumstances. Questioning God when something like this happens in completely normal. Macey had no idea that God had something, and someone, amazing in mind for her future and that leaving her dream job would work out for her good. When her family’s ranch is in danger of having a part taken away, her faith is once again shaken. Isn’t that just like us? We see God work in miraculous ways, but the next crisis we face, we panic again! Lisa Jordan wrote Macey’s story in such an outstanding way. Rescuing Her Ranch reminded me that I’ve got to believe that God’s got “this”…whatever current “this” we’re going through.

I think you’ll love these wonderful characters as much as I did. I am excited to read what happens to Macey’s siblings in future books. Whatever crises they face, I am sure Jordan will do an amazing job of showing how God gets them through.

I highly recommend Rescuing Her Ranch because of its wonderful characters, breathtaking setting, and faith building story. You will love it!

I enjoyed this first book of the new Stone Creek Ranch series. There were a few characters that were introduced in this novel as side characters, whose back stories hint at becoming future books and I look forward to reading those!

This second chance, underdog story was an opportunity for two friends who had a falling out at the end of high school to perhaps reconcile and become something more. However, nothing was quite so easy and straight forward.

I enjoyed watching Macey and Cole grow closer and the way they both loved Cole’s daughter, Lexi. The dynamic between the three of them was sweet and made me hope they could find a way to becoming a family, even as that sometimes seemed impossible with the machinations of Cole’s powerful uncle between them.

This was an enjoyable, small town story and I look forward to returning to this community in future books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Rescuing Her Ranch is book one in the Stone River Ranch series. This clean, uplifting romance was about forgiveness, love, second chances, family and faith.

This small town inspirational story had great characters, close knit family, nice story setting, and tough real life situations; but unfortunately it wasn't for me. I don't really enjoy stories whose characters focus on the past and harbor ill will for years and can't move on.

I still enjoyed getting to know the Stone family and Macey, Cole and Lexi.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

RESCUING HER RANCH by Lisa Jordan is the wonderfully captivating story of Macey Stone - the unexpected events that have her returning to her hometown - Aspen Ridge, Colorado, as she tries to save her family’s ranch, and facing her past in order to move on in the future by not allowing past mistakes to repeat themselves.

Macey left town because of a humiliating event at her senior prom that ended her relationship with Cole Crawford. After working six years as nanny to three adorable children she’s grown to love as her own, it seems she’s coming home under just as bad circumstances. Both situations although completely out of her control left her emotionally raw. Right off the bat, she’s forced to face the man she mistakenly had thought would always have her back. Worse yet, in order to help her sister out, she ends up taking care of his daughter, Lexi, until he can find a replacement nanny. She is a professional – she can do this. She immediately falls in love with Lexi – a rambunctious and precocious little girl who is a real sweetheart.

Cole’s first marriage ended right after the birth of his first child, Lexi. In the divorce, he got complete guardianship of his daughter. He often times struggles and worries if he’s doing things right, but being a father to his daughter is of the utmost priority in his life. Seeing that she has the best medical treatment for her neurofibromatosis – NFI for short, has him at the beck and call to his Uncle Wallace, who keeps throwing it up in his face that he graciously took him in and paid all his bills including his college education when he’s mother’s death left him a poor ragamuffin orphan. He’s been working hard to put back money to pay him off and to finally be out from under his ungrateful thumb. But right now, he needs the insurance working for him gives him. Although assistance may be available to help him with Lexi medical issues and bills, Cole keeps remembering his mother’s words – “We do not accept charity, Cole Edward Crawford. We will make our own way in the world.”

When Macey agrees to care for Lexi, Cole feels like a big burden has been taken off his back. He happily agrees to work with her on the Stone River Sweetheart Ball. However, those agreements may be short lived when they find themselves on opposite sides in the courthouse.

Will Macey be able to put the past behind her to possible allow the present to form a future she’s only dreamed of? Dare she dare to offer her heart up once again? What will she do in order to keep her family’s ranch safe and intact? Will the pull and emotional toll be enough to put her parents in dire health issue that may lead them to giving in? Can Cole keep his professional life and personal life separate or will that line be erased by underhanded deeds by someone else? Could he possibly proven that this land seizure isn’t being done legally? Will the tug on Macey’s heart between the little girl she’s fallen in love with and the love of her grandparent’s homestead pull her apart emotionally? Could another possible betrayal put Macey over the edge making her happily ever after evaporate?

RESCUING HER RANCH is a fabulous, well woven story that will have you turning pages in this can’t put down book. Even the reader will find it hard to pick sides on some of the dilemmas that unfold right before your eyes. Lisa Jordan paints such a beautiful picture of the characters of Aspen Ridge that you feel like you know them personally and Stone River Ranch a place you wish you were headed to for a vacation. It’s all woven with a thread of faith that wraps it all up for a happily ever after that will make you sigh with happiness by the last page. Most definitely a FIVE STAR read and one that I highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

I have only read Lisa Jordan a few times before but I am sure glad I took a chance and picked up RESCUING HER RANCH.

Lisa Jordan instantly hooked me and pulled me right in from the very first page and never let me go. Hang on tight! It is going to be a very crazy and bumpy ride. After things go south with her Nanny job through no fault of her own, Macey goes home. She is back to take care of her old high school friend’s daughter. Cole Parker and Macey departed under intense and crazy circumstances back then, but Macey is determined not to let that get in the way of taking care of Lexi. Now what could possibly go wrong with this arrangement?

RESCUING HER RANCH shows how Cole lets God back into his life, something that has sorely been lacking. He learns that when we turn ourselves over to God anything is possible. I highly recommend this book for readers who enjoy clean reads with true to life characters. Lisa Jordan grabs her readers by the heart and never lets them go. Cole finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. He wants to prove to Macey that she can trust him, but at the same time he is still working for his ruthless uncle. His uncle is trying to buy some of Macey’s family land right out from underneath them and Cole doesn’t seem to be able to win either way. Love Inspired books are so perfect when you want to escape the real world.

If you are looking for a heart tugging read that is filled with troubling times, but still fills you with hope, please take a chance and read RESCUING HER RANCH. It is so real that you need to keep the tissues close by because your emotions are going to be on one crazy roller coaster ride. All the characters in RESCUING HER RANCH are very relatable and not perfect at all. You can’t help but feel each emotion that they are dealing with. When one of them was happy, I was happy. When Macey was crying, I was crying too. I love when an author does that to their readers. I truly was an emotional mess after reading this heart tugging story. Now that I have read RESCUING HER RANCH and discovered just how much I love Lisa Jordan, I’m excited to read more of this new series, Stone Creek Ranch. I hope we will learn more about Macey’s brothers. They both seem like they have heart breaking stories to tell. Once you finish devouring this story, you are going to want to tell everyone you know about this awesome book.

Rescuing Her Ranch
Stone River Ranch #1
By Lisa Jordan

Macey Stone has always loved her childhood home, but an incident drove her away years ago. But now she needs to come home; her future is up in the air. But when she helps out her sister by caring for her former BFF's daughter she never expected it to turn into something a little more permanent.

Cole Crawford betrayed her in high school, and she left home and never looked back. Cole has regretted not speaking up when Macey needed him. And with Macey back in town, he's determined not to hurt her again. But with his uncle determined to get a prime portion of her family's land, that might be difficult.

As Macey and Cole work together, old feelings are rekindled. But the old sting of Cole's betrayal all those years ago, combined with the fact he works for the very man trying to steal her land, makes Macey more than a little leery of Cole and his motives.

Cole is caught between his feelings for Macey, his friendship with the entire Stone family, and the needs of his daughter. Can he do what is right without losing everything?

Rescuing Her Ranch is the first book in the Stone River Ranch series, and if this book is any indication, it will be an enjoyable reading experience. As this is a Love Inspired offering, you are assured that this will be a clean read with a satisfying ending. Both Cole and Macey are stubborn, and at times they are their own worst enemy. Cole has allowed himself to be belittled by his uncle, and Macey has allowed past grievances to influence her current view and response to various situations. Overall a fairly good read that is a good snow day diversion.

Lisa Jordan will tug at her readers’ heartstrings with her latest novel for Love Inspired, Rescuing Her Ranch.

Macey Stone is looking for a fresh start. After losing her job, she finds herself going home where she hopes to find the time to reflect and figure out what she is going to be doing next with her life. While she tries to forge forward with her future, Macey agrees to look after the daughter of her old friend, Cole Crawford. However, when she hears that Cole’s uncle’s company is planning to bulldoze her family’s land, Macey is flabbergasted. She vows to steer clear of Cole, however, when she sees the devoted dad with his daughter, she quickly begins to feel all of her resolves melting away.

Stone River Ranch means absolutely everything to Macey and her family and she will fight tooth and nail to ensure that Cole’s uncle doesn’t get his hands on it. Macey knows that she should not fall in love with the enemy, but will giving Cole a wide berth end up costing her dear? Can she find a way to save Stone River and build a life with the man who has come to mean everything to her? Or should Macey resign herself to heartache and disappointment?

I never read Lisa Jordan before, but after reading Rescuing Her Ranch in a couple of sittings, I’ve added her name to my must-buy list. A wonderfully romantic tale about hope, second chances and falling in love, Rescuing Her Ranch is an engrossing and emotional inspirational contemporary tale from Lisa Jordan I thoroughly enjoyed.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love a good romance. Knowing that the romance is clean and wholesome makes it a romance I can finish! Too many times I can remember starting a book that I thought would be amazing only to get a quarter of the way in and invested just to find out that it was not as clean a read as I thought and having to put it down.

In fact, every book with the Love Inspired logo you can know is going to be a great read but also a clean Christian read that even my young adults love reading. And I love knowing that I don’t have to pre-read them all. But, I should admit that I do read them all first because I love them too!

I have to admit I read the description for this book and my immediate thought was why can’t she have both? Why can’t she have her ranch and love? Now I’m not saying she does or does not get both but this is a wonderful book!

This book read quickly and kept me entertained. No suspense or mystery to be found though there is enough plot and movement that you won’t get bored.

I loved Lexi!

Here’s to hoping that this is the first in a long series of Stone family books! It is book one after all!

Rescuing Her Ranch by Lisa Jordan is the first in her new series Stone River Ranch. Coming home is never easy, but that's exactly what Macey Stone does after losing her job. She shows up at her family home Stone River Ranch. Somehow (ok she's was doing her sister a favor), she winds up taking care of her old ex-best friend Cole Crawford's little girl. Unfortunately, Cole works for his uncle who is a property developer. This property developer has his eyes set on a part of Stone River Ranch. Cole who is now starting to develop feelings again for Macey finds himself at odds. He needs to take care of his little girl by keeping his job, but he feels wrong while he is pursuing the land his uncle wants. What will happen to Macey and Cole?
I loved this book. I love series especially clean faith based series set in small towns. Add in some cowboys and cowgirls and it's a perfect plot. I'm hoping the series will be about each of the Stone Siblings. I enjoyed getting to know them a little bit. This book really has all the feels. I know I teared up a time or two. Of course, every book makes me cry. LOL. It had an epilogue which I appreciate. I think it just pulls the whole book together. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the Stone River Ranch series. I hope you will give this one a chance, so you can find out what ends up happening to Cole & Macey. I was given a copy of this book, but all. opinions are my very own!

Phew! This one gave me all the feels. Totally immersed from the very first paragraph. And the way Jordan writes makes everything come alive: these characters, the town and the myriad of emotions that mess with an unsuspecting reader’s equilibrium.

A kind of second chance romance (Macey and Cole were friends in high school…until they weren’t!) I could feel the energy crackling all around them and feel the hurt and regret and I so wanted them to make things right and just when they have a chance…bam…it’s emotional sucker punch time! Oy, my heart feels pummelled. And there’s one nefarious character that had me steaming mad! Luckily Cole’s sweet little daughter soothed my ire some.

This looks to be the first in a new series centered around the Stone clan and the author has done a magnificent job of introducing us to Macey’s siblings as she sets the stage for future books. I’m really excited about this series. Can’t wait for the next one to release!

Rescuing Her Ranch by Lisa Jordan is the first book in her new series Stone River Ranch from Love Inspired.

This was such a good read! Macey had so much on her plate, but I love how she didn’t let drama keep her from helping Cole’s little girl. And Cole, what a tough spot he was in. Partially of his own making, so at times I struggled with sympathy for him. But his uncle! Oh I did not like him. And that strong emotion is what I love about this book. Not to mention, the ending was very sweet.

I’m very excited about this new series. I want to know more about Macey’s siblings. I also enjoyed the cast of supporting characters and hope they’ll make an appearance in other books.

If you love romance that will draw you into the story, then grab a copy of this book! I recommend it.

There is so much against Macey Stone and Cole Crawford renewing their friendship, but when Macey returns to her family's ranch and is called on to care for Cole's daughter, they might just have a chance for that and more. Continually thrown together, while a conflict of interest drives them apart, this is a small town romance that holds the reader’s interest and may just touch their heart.

With themes of faith and family, this story touches on serious issues and questions while introducing a cast of characters that will leave you wanting the next book in the Stone River Ranch series. If contemporary small town inspirational romance is your cup of tea, Lisa Jordan’s Rescuing Her Ranch will tick a lot of boxes for you.

I thought this was a good story. I liked how Macey and Cole had to decide what was right and go for it no matter the consequences. I liked how even though they were on the opposite sides of an issue at first, in the end they worked together to do what was right. I also liked the romance between them. I like how it took getting over past hurts and strengthening their friendship before they could be a couple. I thought this was a good story with believable characters. I also thought the story was easy to read and was believable. I also liked how the bad guy got what he deserved in the end. I would recommend this book to others if you want an uplifting, sweet romance.

Author Lisa Jordan writes a story that kept me reading from page one to the end. Well developed characters Macey and Cole are at odds yet are drawn together. I enjoyed the backstory of their relationship. It gave “their” story a twist that isn’t expected. Can they work out their differences? And sweet little Lexi gave the story a heartwarming feeling.

While this is a clean romance, it takes on some serious subjects. I appreciated that Jordan wasn’t afraid to “go there” but didn’t go into deep details. She handled things very well.

I really enjoyed this small town story, and look forward to the next one in the Stone River Ranch series.

Lisa Jordan has a new series called Stone River Ranch. Macey Stone returns to her childhood home, Stone River Ranch, after being humiliated at her job. She meets up with her old friend, Cole Crawford, as she begins babysitting his young daughter, Lexie. Wallace Crawford wants part of the Stone’s family property and is determined to get it by any means. Part of that means is to make his nephew, Cole, work to help take the property. Right meets might and all sorts of problems arise.

Lisa Jordan does a great job of defining her characters. Cole’s uncle is a real piece of work! There are several Stone children, so hopefully each will get their own story, and I can’t wait to read them!

I was hooked from the start of Rescuing Her Ranch and couldn't put it down. I fell in love with all the characters especially Lexi. Lies, bullying, being embarrassed because you need help, or not wanting to be a charity case are all very real parts of life. Thankfully God's love for us is also very real. Over and over the book spoke of trusting in God's and that He would take care of them. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading others by Lisa Jordan.
I received two copies of this book. One was a free giveaway. The other was from a friend who thought I would enjoy it as much as she did.She was right.

Good start to the series

Macey has come home to Stone River Ranch just in time to help single father Cole take care of his daughter Lexi. But can Macey get over their past history, as well as the fact that he works for the man wanting to take her favorite part of the ranch? Read this to find out.

The pace is engrossing and the tone is uncertain with a character centered storyline that has no steam. The characters are well developed. Lexi is a real cutie. I didn't give this 5 stars because I kept wanting Cole to stand up to his uncle more. However, I have never been in a situation like his, so maybe I would do the same.

Rescuing Her Ranch by Lisa Jordan is the first book in her new series Stone River Ranch from Love Inspired. This book has everything you would want to find in a romance book. Controversary, problems that take the characters apart but, in the end, bring the main characters together. Giving us all hope that if we don't give up what we want can and will come true not only in love but our personal lives as well. I believe these characters and I could have been friends if I ever had the opportunity to meet them in person. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.

Rescuing Her Ranch is one of my favorite books. Jordan did an amazing job with her characters and plot. The story held my attention until the end. Macey Stone is a strong female character who fights to keep her ranch while falling for the man (and his precious daughter) who's trying to take it from her. Talk about plot twists! I can't wait for her next book.

Strong-willed women always have a place in my heart and this book was a beautiful story about one.

This book mirrored strenght, faith, love among a myriad of admirable qualities which are inspiring.

Again, Lisa Jordan floors her readers with a beautiful take.

This story is one of misunderstandings, forgiveness, second chances, faith, and redemption. This is a friends to enemies to love/family. There are all kinds of feelings running through this story. Although part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend this book and intend to read the rest of this series.

A small town, starting over with second chances and swoon-worthy chemistry abound in Rescuing Her Ranch, the first novel in the Stone River Ranch series, which looks like it’ll be featuring the close knit Stone family. The series kicks off with Macey Stone, a character that you can’t help but root for. After dealing with an embarrassing end to a nannying job, Macey finds herself back home in Colorado, and in front of her ex-best friend, Cole, the last place she wanted to be.

Cole is all around a great guy with a wonderful heart and admirable drive and determination. The feelings between Cole and Masey are obvious, but past hurts make things complicated, not to mention the current situation they find themselves in. Is anything ever easy in life? It seems like the more they try to stay away from one another the more the universe wants them together, but that means facing old wounds, and fighting to do what is right in the face of adversity.

This novel seriously has all the feels, and then some. Cole’s daughter Lexi was definitely a bright spot, and the perfect balance to the drama that is swirling around, especially when its comes to Cole’s uncle Wallace. Seeing Cole, Macey, and Lexi together, as well as the whole Stone family, was truly heartwarming. Faith and family are abundant, and you can’t help but root for these characters and crave to see that happily ever after. Reading this novel gets me so excited about this series, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for the Stone family!
