A night with a vigilante biker wasn’t my wisest choice.
I can’t resist the cocky motorcycle man, even though Block is old enough to be my father. He said he didn’t do commitments, which made it the perfect night of fun. Except afterward, nobody else appeals to me.
Block shows up weeks later, and I break my one-time-only rule. I won’t fall for his arrogant smile and burly, tattooed build. It’s one last night to get him out of my system. Neither of us wants a relationship. Every wicked thing he does to me feels different - like it could be the real thing.
When a threat lands on my doorstep, one final night with Block becomes a three-day-weekend. He insists on helping me resolve my problems which only brings us closer together. The day after our weekend together, I find out he’s my new boss.
Life always shoots me down and being with Block is no different.
Problem is, Block thinks we can be an exception. I don’t want to be an exception. We should quit while we can.
If you love a sassy heroine, one-night-to-forever romance, and an alpha hero who sees what he wants and won’t let go, then you’ll love Block’s Road.
Karen Renee is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. She once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it’s taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. When she’s not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books.
Ms. Renee has brought another five star read in the Biloxi MC series that had me devouring Block and Heidi’s story. For two people who were only one and done they have this attraction that brings them back together whether they want to fight it or not. Block knows a good thing when he sees it and he is not letting this pass him by even with the age gap between them.
There is suspense in this book because someone is after one of them which kept me guessing. Of course, the steam and the chemistry was off the charts. I not only recommend this book but this series as well.
I just knew Block and Heidi would have a rollercoaster of a story for us! The funniest part is that the person who wants more isn’t the one you’d immediately think. In fact, it takes all of Block’s charm, his…talents, and some bad luck for Heidi to get a decent chance at anything for these two. And while they get to know each other and pretend they’re taking it one day at a time, danger comes around. In a few forms. But who’s the target? And why?
This series keeps me wanting more every single time. And not in a bad way. I’m just never ready for the last words to be read. Ever. I love spending time with these guys, their women, and the nonsense that they may have to endure along the way. Heidi is stronger than you’d think, she’s been through some seriously horrid stuff, and yet she’s supremely well adjusted. Sure, she’s a bit cracked, but aren’t we all? And really, she’s a little off center in the best possible way. She doesn’t hold onto dumb grudges, she doesn’t play games, and she tries very hard not to be untruthful about much.
Luckily, Block is also just as strong and even more stubborn, because he needs it to convince the first woman he’s actually wanted more than a one-off from in years that he’s worth thinking about forever. But he’s persistent and he’s certain that he’s the best man to have Heidi’s back. And he’s absolutely right about that.
So now I get to wait for the next book…impatiently, I might add.
One of my favourite series, Block has a bit of love hate thing for his brother’s woman’s best friend Heidi. One afternoon after dragging her to his room and an angry fuuuuu …. Fumble she leaves without saying anything and that’s like a red rag to a bull for his ego. A couple of months later he sees a chance to deal with unfinished business but it’s just the start for these 2.
Block and Heidi are the two most unlikely characters to end up together. What was supposed to be a one off hook-up soon turns into an all out pursuit on Block's part, especially when someone starts messing with Heidi. Block's Road is steamy, dramatic, bossy and fun.
After what was supposed to be a mutually agreed upon one night stand, Block realizes that he wants more than a one-and-done with Heidi. Convincing her of that becomes a challenge that he won't back away from. They have an openly antagonistic relationship, verbally sparring each time they run into each other, and secretly revving up their engines. When one night becomes several nights and a weekend trip AND someone seems to have it out for Heidi, puncturing her tires, Block jumps into protector mode and moves forward full speed ahead.
This was a fun read, and had me learning new things like you can make candy from mashed potatoes and salamanders are a kitchen appliance! Gotta love when you can get educated while enjoying a great story! Block and Heidi have chemistry that burns off the pages and will have you cheering for them to wade through their individual baggage and make it work between them. Karen Renee has stayed true to her characters and each story is unique and well planned. Her Riot Books are a definite must read.
While part of a series that has mentioned both main characters previously, Block's Road is a standalone age gap MC novel with a HEA ending.
I started this because I had 45 minutes until I needed to do something else…well, hours later I finished the book. I adore the characters and the writing style of this author. The book is about a best friend of one of the Old Ladies and the older biker. Their relationship develops amidst strange events happening to her, tires slashed, weird work associates, Mom from hell, and a background that makes her very leery about any relationship involving her. Steamy and loving. Her hot biker takes a chance on love again. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger, just a tease in the epilogue for the next book. Recommend you try it for your next reading hours.
Block was a pretty perfect H: loyal to his MC brothers, solid businessman, caring son, and dogged in his pursuit of Heidi once he realized he had more than a fleeting connection to her. I enjoyed Heidi at first. She was feisty and humorous, independent, yet also flawed from her upbringing. Heidi just got tiresome after about 2/3rds in; they made it through a bunch of familial and MC drama, their lives being in danger, they'd exchanged "I love you's" and yet she'd have a tizzy and attempt to self-sabotage her relationship with Block (honestly, if she had a club name it would have been Blockhead).
The writing is good, as usual, and there are plenty of antics and action to keep you interested.
The men of Riot MC are stuck in their ways as they reach a certain age thinking they don’t need a woman to make them happy. Block meets the one woman he knows he shouldn’t want but does and she is determined not to let it get too far. When things start happening look out.
This one was ok for me. Part of it was the couple was just ok, didn't really get the connection and so much of the first half of the book was just sex scene after sex scene, with some arguing thrown in. Now I like sex in my books, but this was too much. I did feel bad for Heidi when I learned her past, glad that she has good people around her now and glad that Block was so patient with her.
I loved the banter between these two and really loved seeing him break her walls down. Age be dam these two are perfect for one another. Their story is full of twists and turns and I loved every minute of it.
I really enjoyed this book. It took me a while to get into the story but couldn't put book down once started.
I loved Block and Heidi together, they kept having a pull to each other. They both have pasts that keep holding them back. But they can't keep away from each other.
An age gap story with two very stubborn people! That makes a very interesting story. Block and Heidi will keep you wrapped up with just their banter. Even with their age gap these two are perfect for each other. The problem is, them accepting it. Will they?
Loved this book! Another MC brother goes for a what he thinks is going to be just a hookup, but boy oh boy does it turn out to be so much more…. Block has always given off this vibe of roll with life’s punches and maybe that’s due to his age and life experiences. Heidi comes with her own rule- just a night no more. What happens when these two try for more…. Gah I swear this book will have you going on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster with these two and everything that’s happening…..
And here I was, ready to embark into another MC book and I couldn't be happier. Everyone, that follows my reviews, knows that I love MC books and I can't seem to get enough of them. I can honestly say that I've read so many and I didn't dislike any. Awesome right? Karen Renee is the author of this new book and since the first book from her I wanted more. Her writing is raw and wild, with hotness and danger into the mix. Block's Road is her latest release and it's the sixth book from the Riot MC Biloxi series. This book explores the lives of Block and Heidi. These two had a wild night and then they parted ways. Since Block didn't want any commitment, and neither did Heidi she thought that they wouldn't see each other again... Wrong. They got together, just one more night and that was it... But when danger lurks... Oh my... When a book... Amazing plot, well written, super engaging, and hot... Hot guys... What I thought that I was going good to have, was so much more. One minute I thought that it was a one-night stand but then it was two nights and then... I'm not going to spoil so read for yourself. These two, despite the age difference, were perfect for each other. The chemistry they share is explosive and will leave you breathless and in need of a change of panties. Lol It was amazing to witness their push and pull. His insistence and desire for each other. Loved every chapter and I'm sad that it's over. I need more from these two. And I need to read this series from the beginning. That's for sure. Another amazing book Karen. You nailed it once again. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Let's start off by saying that we loved Heidi and Block's story it was super hot and engaging full of suspense.The plot was great it was one that kept you guessing of who the culprit could be but, once you learn its outcome it full of a ton of messy bits.
We just loved Heidi and her sense of humor and her sass and outgoing personality. Her chemistry with Block aka Rob is off the charts they sizzle in and out of bed. Man their sexual encounters we super hot and they couldn't keep their hands off of each other. Her protestations of a one off are quickly dwindling.
Block is a straight forward guy who tells it like it is just pull off the band aid type and get it over with but, with Heidi he is all that and more but, he treads lightly around her knowing he can only push her so far. Loved how possessive and protective of her he was and being a dominate type man and his alpha ways he needed to dial it back a bit because his woman had a strong and fierce personality and would only let the man get away with so much but, secretly loved his wicked ways.
When we say this book was a hot boy oh boy fan worthy with super hot characters. Getting to know Heidi and seeing what her life was like you get a better understanding of he one and done attitude and it was sad and heart breaking and even Blocks reluctance because of their age difference but, there is no fighting fate for them. A story that keeps you laughing and smiling the entire time definitely this one goes into the keeper pile to be read time and time again.
He wasn't your usual biker. Not that she could tell meeting him at a club B-B-Q. They didn't exactly have a flirty meeting. However, chemistry was there and one night would take care of that--or not. In this case, it was an or not.
Most age-gap books I read have the woman convincing the man that his being older doesn't matter. Again--not so here. Not that he planned for a long-term anything, but he wanted to be the one to walk away.
She's by no means a biker-girl, however, her bestie's newfound love is a biker Heide can see the love they have. Not that she easily lets him in. There are plenty of reasons and situations to keep them apart. Feelings, strong, feelings are what keep them together. The more time around the club brothers the more she understands that they are not what everyone thinks.
Danger, enemies, steam, loyalty, great characters (as always with the Riot MC), their feelings for each other deepen, and understanding brings them closer. Will they overcome the obstacles? Is there a future for them?
It took me a bit to take to Heide, but in the end, they are a great couple. Enjoy this book. I strongly recommend it and the series.
Ms. Renee has given us a wonderfully written storyline about Block, the Prez of the Biloxi chapter of the Riot MC. He’s a widower and not looking for anything past one night stands. But there's something about Heidi, the bestie to a club brother’s woman. She is a sassy, smart mouth girl who is way too young for him. As for Heidi, the last thing she needs is a cocky, biker trying to control her life. So they agree to a “one and done”. But it's been two months and neither seems to be able to forget that night, especially Block. So when he shows up on her doorstep, against her better judgment, she lets him in, they agree to one more time to get things “out of their system”. But then Heidi starts getting personal threats and Block can’t let that stand, insisting that she stay with him until the situation is taken care of. From here the story takes us readers on a wild bumpy ride with two characters that are totally opposites, outwardly bad for each other but can’t seem to stop the pull between them.
The banter and push and pull between our hero and heroine are outstanding. Grab this one up and hang on, you’re gonna love it. I know this reader sure did.
This is the 6th book in this amazing series, and this is Block and Heidi’s story. Block is stubborn and strong, and he is the president of the Biloxi chapter, and he is not interested in commitments, and Heidi is sassy and smart, and her best friend is in love of one of the MC members. There is an instant attraction between Block and Heidi and a one-night stand is just not enough for them to stay away from each other, and the chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable. When Heidi becomes a target, Block is determined to protect and keep her safe. This is a well written action-packed story which has emotions, friendships, loyalty, challenges, twists, witty banter, humor, an age gap, danger, suspense, intrigue, and love, which leads to an entertaining and fun addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I LOVE Karen Renee's writing style so there hasn't been a book that I haven't 100% loved by her, and Block's Road is absolutely no exception. Heidi is the best friend of Block's brother, and there are some complicated feelings there. The sparks always fly between them, and finally they act upon it but she leaves without issue which bothers the man who doesn't want a relationship. Fate is a funny thing though, and after a minute, they come across each other again so those undeniable sparks ignite again so they spend more time together which goes against the rules Heidi has but the best laid plans amirite?! This leads them to a lot of heat filled shenanigans, but then things take an exciting turn as danger is stalking them. The twists are now coming in hot while these two fight their feelings so it's a fun filled ride that I couldn't get enough of! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Block is all alpha and he is very use to not being blown off. Heidi has her rules and one night is it. Block won’t have it. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Great writing.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Block is awesome and love how he doesn't back down from what he wants. Heidi is a woman who speaks her mind. I loved their fire and how they felt towards each other. This story kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. This series and author are ones not to miss!!! Karen Renee is one author that will keep you on your toes and guessing what is next, her stories are full of heat and intense emotions. ONE NOT TO MISS!!!
I have read the full series, this is the worst one of both Riot MC series. Starts very slow and dry, had to stop and start several times. The issue with Riley was left hanging, the problem with Mariah/ Peyton was left hanging. Both parts were key to the story but left open which drops the story even lower. Heidi and Block fight and argue throughout the entire story, yes they get a HEA but the fighting lowers the quality of the story along with the parts left hanging. Not enough interaction with the other Riot brothers so all in all a very low quality book, save your money.
Block and Heidi are on the same page when it comes to hooking up, that is until they spend more time together because Heidi is in danger. Block can't seem to get her off his mind, so he keeps going back and in order to protect her he stays with her for a few days. This only shows them that the chemistry between them is real and not to be ignored.
Good story, I love the characters in the Riot MC series and each story is different. The characters are always enjoyable to read. I look forward to more to come in the series.
Mariah is one twisted sister, and no where cool as the band!
Anyone who thinks killing their brother-in-law to get his house is wacked on so many levels, and she was doing it for her church? How is killing Block any kind of Christian? NO a wackjob like that should've been put away, not getting house arrest!
And Heidi's mom is the same brand of crazy as Mariah!
Sorry!!!! I loved the story a lot, hope you can see that Karen! Made me feel strongly!
After a hook up neither Block nor Heidi can forget about each other even though they both said one and done, they both had their reasons, Block was a Widower, Heidi's childhood shaped her, but when someone slashes her tyres, he's there to help. Block soon realises they are good together, he just needs to convince her.
Block has a love hate thing for his brother’s woman’s best friend Heidi. This is story about two people who were only one and done they have this attraction that brings them back together whether they want to fight it or not. Block knows a good thing when he sees it and he is not letting this pass him by even with the age gap between them.
As I began reading this story after read books 1 through 5, I was disappointed I could not get into it until I read a few chapters in. That's when it became interesting to me. For me it wasn't as good as the others which was disappointing because I was so waiting to read Blocks story, he was an interesting character to me. I did pre order Tiny's story and I a looking forward to reading his story.
Block is all alpha and he is very use to not being blown off. Heidi has her rules and one night is it. Block won’t have it. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Great writing.
