I will be the first to admit that art is not one of my strongest points - I like what I see but ask my why I like it or what makes it special and I am lost. That said I do love art (that I can understand and enjoy at least) as my Papertiger collection can attest to.

So when I stumbled across the Masterpieces of Art series I was intrigued - so yes expect to see more of them to come! They cover a whole range of artists many of whom I know and have some works of - but there are couple of the series which focus on a style rather than person - this is one of them.

It is a celebration and brief overview (after all how much can you cover on the topic in one book) of the style and the age in which it was most popular.

I think what I loved about this book is that I recognised so much - from the Metropolis posters to the advertising campaigns of the time - aa great introduction (at least for me) in to the whole style.

idk i prefer art nouveau… I fear we could have our own version of an art deco revival with the worlds current political turmoil…
