I borrowed this from the library because I was interested in learning more about Persian mythology but this anthology wasn't that great. there are quite a few copyediting errors and the parts that they condense to make stories shorter are really boring. i wish I'd just read the full shahnameh or something lol
Fascinating similarities that exist between cultures so opposed to one another. Seems we all drew upon universal ideas and themes. Very good read maybe not Edith Hamilton good but eye-opening.
i think its a good introduction to some good persian literature throughout the centuries, but i think it could've used some more ties ins to why it's important at the time + now in a cultural why
