This is a GREAT book for a young person or old! There are a handful of favorite books I remember as a kid and this is one. Compelling version of the classic tale, and the vivid and lifelike illustrations are wonderful and drive home the adventure and excitement. Get it!
Picked it up at a garage sale just because its a classic book. Could hardly put it down. The realism of the author potraying his time and the Biblical imagery stood out to me. Some may not enjoy the extended coverage of boat and whaling processes, but I enjoyed it and learned a lot.
I liked this book. It was about a captain that wanted revenge on a whale that ate is leg. The captain is crazy. He just wanted to kill that whale no matter the safety of his crew. He was a little bit crazy. The book was read in the only survivor from his ship point of view. It was 172 pages long.
