Written by Kelly Russell Jaques and illustrated by Liz Pope and Kate Pope. This children’s tale is about one tired tortoise who is trying to rest in a nearby hammock. But two scheming spiders, three crazy crickets, four mischievous mice, and a host of other jumping animals have different plans! A fun way of teaching children rhyming skills, counting, social skills, manners, and etiquette. KELLY RUSSEL JAQUES | Born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, then graduated from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. She currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children. Although she doesn’t have a hammock in her backyard, she does have a trampoline, just waiting for a tired tortoise. LIZ AND KATE POPE | They loved to doodle and mess with anything arty from a young age. Both went from Chesterfield Art College to Staffordshire University. Since then, they’ve continued to develop individual strengths. Liz is most happy simply sketching with her pencil, developing line drawings into more elaborate art pieces. Kate enjoys combining color and pattern, layering, and creating decorative surfaces. Over the years, they have illustrated many gift cards, art prints, and children’s books together. They never set out to work together but found that their styles go together perfectly, creating something very quirky and unique!

A darling counting book about a turtle that just wants some piece and quiet while enjoying her nap in a hammock. But multiple different animals come to disturb her peace. Eventually the hammock becomes to full and flips over. Finally, Turtle will have her peace...or will she?
Such an engaging children's book with a delightful story, counting rhymes and fun characters. Your kids will be asking for this one again & again. I love gifting this book and every recipient has been delighted!
This is a super cute book that children will absolutely love. The rhyming is perfect, the characters are adorable, and the illustrations are amazing. As a tired parent myself, I can totally relate to the tortoise's struggle!
