This was a great intro book on the film industry. My greatest interest is in how to fund independent films, and this book helped me get a strong handle on what that entails. It also helped me understand how the whole industry works together, including what one can expect from different entities within the industry, including investors, producers, cast, directors, crew and distributors. One great lesson in this book was the explanation was the pitfalls one should avoid when starting in the industry. That is valuable.

Overall, this was a great beginner's book. I have a good broad overview of the industry and have a better grasp on the right questions to ask when seeking more useful information about funding an independent film and what I should expect from investors and producers. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a basic understanding of the film industry.

Great book! I enjoyed the comprehensive view of a fascinating industry that's in the news a lot. It explained large budgets, the focus on box office results and includes some interesting details about why the industry is changing. Highly recommended!
