While this is a board book, it's more appropriate for a kindergartener than a toddler or baby. There is a lot of information about different types of construction trucks and introduces new vocabulary in an accessible way. The historical facts were a wonderful feature throughout the book and the illustrations are engaging. My 18 month old is obsessed with trucks (and books about trucks), but this had a bit too much type on each page to maintain his attention. I'm betting in another year or two this will be a favorite.

For a board book, it is very wordy with some tricky vocabulary.

The info is good and so are the illustrations, but the audience is very unclear. It's too long for little kids, and yet a board book?

As far as board books go, this isn't really for your youngest readers. This is a BIG book of non-fiction style introductions to all the tractors, cranes, bulldozers, and more. Each page is not your simplified look at machinery for young readers, but a much more detailed look as the specific parts of each machine and all sorts of history behind them.
For me, there is a disconnect between the density of the content and format as a board book.
