I love the look of star quilts, but I hate Y seams! This book was the answer- 30 blocks, using squares and rectangles! To make stars! Lots of pattern and color combinations. A fantastic resource.
This book would make a great block of the month posting for a blog. Ms Srebro shows a rotary cutting technique to make 8 pointed and other star blocks. The techniques can even be used for special pieced borders. The book includes 30 blocks of interesting star patterns. I also like the different size cutting instructions to make different size blocks. That is why I think this book would make a good BLOCK OF THE MONTH.
The technique used in this book is based on diagonal piecing and I think it does require accuracy to achieve a good looking block. I enjoyed the color selections in the blocks but then again I like a mix of textured solid colors. The techniques are diamond free, point perfect with no Y seams.
I have only made one block from this book but I plan to try more. I will get back to you when I do.
