I was excited to hear about this as I have long wished that those involved in producing political writings would also bring out fiction. Stories shape our thoughts, which inturn shape our actions, and we need better stories if the world is ever going to change for the better.
In a suburban development, a boy meets a girl and they have fun in the woods behind their houses. The development isn't finished, however, and the woods will soon be destroyed. The girls says that there are elves in the wood that will protect it, but they must help. The boy makes a promise to a mother hawk that he will protect his trees.
A classic-style young adult book, where the harsh, unfair reality crashes into the magical wonder of children.
There really are elves, you know, and you could be one of them.
