This was a fun paranormal read. Harper is a fantastic lead, with tons of humor, ghosts, and intrigue to compliment her present in the story. The line about the spirit of Galen watching Golden Girl reruns had me in stitches. This all felt very different from Jacqueline Druga’s other reads, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It did drag a bit at times, and some of the plot points felt like they were repeated too many times. So, getting through the, near, 200 pages was a bit of a journey, but I still think that Druga crafted a really interesting story. Struck a nice balance between all of the elements. Almost reminded me a bit of ParaNorman, for some reason, which I am a huge fan of. Fans of the paranormal will have a good time here.

This is my first book by this author. I thought it was quite good. There were twists and turns throughout and the characters were all clearly thought out and grew as the book went on.
I do hope the author writes a follow-up to this story.
Would recommend it for a nice quick, easy read.

Wow
It's really hard to have words for this story that do it justice. I'm so used to reading your "end of the world stories "and Your occasional crazy campy stories, but this is the 1st time I've ever read a story like this that you wrote. I have to admit that it moved me greatly. So many in life feel like they never amount in anything; that they have no real purpose. That they don't touch people's lives In any meaningful way. Then comes this beautiful powerful story, about this woman who always felt like she was a freak and a failure, But in the end she changed the lives of so many people and gave peace to those who needed it. She also gave purpose to people who might not have ever discovered their purpose on their own. Some people just don't. A good example of that is her friend that never worked and still lived with his mother. But more than that she gave purpose to someone who had no idea that his life could become more than what it was. Her mother for 1 and then the sleep study doctor. So many people work hard and do well in life but they never figure out their true purpose. There are 2 paths 1 is the higher path the 1 you're meant to be on and the other one is the path most people end up on which is why they have to be born over and over again until they get it right. So that only did she find HER true purpose but she helped others find theirs. I don't get in much better than that!!

Jacqueline Druga always has never stopped amazing me. She just gets better and better
This story was a big surprise for me I knew it was going to be different going into it. I read the reviews etc. I really sniff out a book before I start reading. It's just what I do. I knew this was going to be a different adventure Jacqueline was taking me on. One I had not been on with her before and I have been on a lot of adventures with her. I was not disappointed. I read The Following in just a Saturday afternoon it was that good. I finished with a smile on my face. I just had a feeling of having just experienced something very fine that I truly enjoyed. When I started the story it was pouring rain out, when I finished up the sun had came to shine watery diamonds all over the yard. This book actually fit the day. Do read. It is a great Jacqueline Druga book to add to your collection

I have been reading Jacqueline Druga books for over a decade. Unless it is part of a series, one never knows what the book will be about. Her genres has no boundaries. Jackie's job is to write awesome books for me to read. My job --- it is a selfish one-- is to be entertained. I also have to write a review. (Read this book!) Lastly, it is to post her books on many of my book clubs sites and Facebook pages and share her awesome reads!
I definitely recommend this book.

Following a near death experience Harper discovers she has the ability to pass across, speak to the dead, and pull back them into the world for one final moment. It’s not an ability that she is wont to encourage, but she soon finds out that maybe she can help people. It’s well written and is done with that gentle humor that always brings a smile to my face, but it’s just not the kind of story that interests me. I very rarely dip into paranormal novels and when I do I prefer something with a little more bite. Deserves to be read by those who love this genre!

First, I'm a great fan of Jacqueline Druga. I love apocalyptic fiction and hers are among the best! When she released this book, she said it probably would not do well, as it is not her usual genre. But, guys, read this book! A character that feels like she could be your friend, just going through some crazy stuff. Lots of humor, twists, weird things, and hope are all packed into this book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I absolutely adore this authors works. But, OMG this is way different than any book of hers I have read. I have to say Elvis. You’ll have to read it to understand. My favorite character in this story is Galen!!!! He’s awesome.

This is a very different story with a supernatural tinge and some flavors of "The Sixth Sense" and "Ghost". This was written as a first-person narrative and while there were a few editing issues, none were major or distracting. This very original story was greatly entertaining and had one huge twist that I didn't see coming. Also, who wouldn't like a 2000-year-old light soldier from Sparta that becomes a "Golden Girls" fan?

A change of direction
I have read almost all of Jacquelines apocalyptic books and loved them and have to admit to putting this one off as it wasn't my usual read but wow, what a book. I read it in one sitting and can't wait for the next instalment. My only slight gripe would be that I'm not sure on people's ages or what they look like. How old is harper?

Outstanding!!
I honestly don't know why I waited so long to read this one. I've had it in my queue for a while now but something else always pushed it aside. Well, better late than never!
This is easily Druga's best work. She has stepped outside the box with this one and it's FANTASTIC! I loved the characters, I loved the premise and I loved the outcome. Well done!

This book is so good I hope its going to be a series!
Great read I only follow 3 authors and Druga is one of them! Grabbed my attention quickly kept me excited to see what was next and read I through in one setting!

Very different from the usual Jacqueline topics.
I really enjoyed this theme and the main characters. A few peripheral characters were confusing but overall worth a read. Would like to see this fleshed out into a few more stories.

Couldn't put down
This book kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I absolutely loved the whole story and couldn't put it down. Will definitely be checking out more from this author.

Fun and interesting
This was so totally different from what I usually read. But I enjoyed it immensely. The characters were engaging and intense. The story line was fun and I enjoyed this story.

Fantastic!
Jacqueline Drugs is one of my favorite authors. The lady can flat out write! As far as I know, I have read everything she has ever written and I've never been disappointed. I highly recommend ALL her work!

I had to sit down and read this book from start to finish. I had an out of body experience and is was a little scary to have the same experience in this book. I also got a chuckle multiple times. Good book.

I’ve been really into Jacqueline Druga’s books recently! The Following was definitely a fun & short read. 4 stars because my god does miss ma’am need to fire her editor. The books of hers that I’ve read so far have had typos and grammatical errors without fail
