I found this one day in a friends tent at the Merced Lake High Sierra Camp in Yosemite and took it up a ridge to sun myself. Once I started reading I couldn't stop; his words are magic. The review on the back that said like all good authors he writes truths he has no right to know was spot on. I was so absorbed in his words I didn't even realize my thighs were getting super sunburned. <br />Pick it up if you ever get the opportunity.

Heavy Lead Birdsong ties the threads of - love, life, death, emptiness - together with sorrow, longing and that last breath of hopefulness.
