Very tough going, this one. I expected more of an analysis of how modern travel impacts, well, everything. But this book took an extremely philosophical turn. Which was interesting in places, but if I'd known... well, it wasn't what I signed up for, and the author wasn't selling it to me. Frankly, it didn't help that about 80% of the book felt like a regurgitation of other writers' work. It felt like somebody's end of term paper. Aside from a few personal travel recollections, the author herself just disappeared behind the notable experts she was quoting.
