Another Most Excellent Daily Devotional with Good News Every Day

Daily se options based on Scripture readings (included) that relate the Good News of Gods gifts of grace in Christ Jesus are made fresh and relevant for living in faith!! Few devotionals get it as well as Mockingbird Press!! I have been abundantly impressed with their devotionals and plan to return to them again and again! Highly recommended!!

Love this little book. Debating reading it again this year! Short, to the point, and intellectual, with so much gospel truth. Each entry meets the reader where he or she is at and points to Jesus. It’s not about self betterment, like so much “Christian” and spiritual writings are about these days…it’s the opposite, encouraging readers to stop striving and stand in awe of The Lord’s daily grace and mercy.

“The Bible makes perfectly clear that God is not in the business of self-betterment, but of death and resurrection. Christianity is not a life-long program to make you a better person, but the proclamation that Jesus entered into the ultimate ending, death, in order to give you the ultimate beginning, eternal life. Through Jesus, your fresh start- your ‘new you’- began in a manger. It was established on a cross and fulfilled in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Now and forever.”

Four and a half stars.

I'm picky about short devotionals, but this one was perfect for groggy or busy mornings (so, most mornings) when I needed something brief but not simplistic. Daily Grace, Vol. 2 is full of clear, pithy writing and even new perspectives on familiar passages. And the writing often has a slightly literary bent, which I appreciated. That's pretty impressive for devotionals that rarely go over a page and a half.

Wonderful daily devotional- with each page bringing a bit of scripture and a reflection. A bonus for me was having one every month or so from my son, Ethan Richardson!! Everything put out by Mockingbird is top notch!
