Kai and Mariella . . .
Kai and Mariella are both likable characters in this sweet love story. Mariella is dealing with trauma and is afraid yet drawn to the ocean. Kai is a diver and photographer working on an important project when his local guide cancels. He offers Mariella a large sum of money to be his guide for the completion of the project. When they need to spend the night together, they both give in to their feelings. So when he has to leave, her heart is broken. Can he truly walk away? Or will love bring him back to her?
Kai and Mariella are both likable characters in this sweet love story. Mariella is dealing with trauma and is afraid yet drawn to the ocean. Kai is a diver and photographer working on an important project when his local guide cancels. He offers Mariella a large sum of money to be his guide for the completion of the project. When they need to spend the night together, they both give in to their feelings. So when he has to leave, her heart is broken. Can he truly walk away? Or will love bring him back to her?

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read.
Kai meets Mariella when he comes to Saltery Bay to go diving. He stops by Kasperson’s the restaurant she is working at and she takes his order. She gets a little tongue tied around him and he wants to get to know her more. He asks her questions about the area and then asks her to be his guide. She takes him up on the offer, she has the next two days off and could use the money. The next morning they meet up at the restaurant, they head out after grabbing coffees. When they reach the dive site she anchors the boat and Kai gets ready. Mariella settles in on the bench and reads her book. He climbs back onto the boat, she tells him she brought lunch if he wants to take a break or they can head to the next site. They get tangled in one another, then he pulls her in for a kiss. They break apart and waves from another boat make Mariella lose her footing, he grabs her arm, she tells him thanks. They share the sandwiches she brought for lunch, and Kai tries to talk to her about her past, she doesn’t want to share to much. He tells her about growing up in the south and with Mama Mae and his foster brothers. He asks her if she dives and if she has a certification she tells him she use to but then got freaked out and haven’t been since. He asks her if she wants to talk about it and she tells him no. They go to two more dive sites in the afternoon, he asks her if he can buy her dinner. She tells him he doesn’t have to and he tells her he wants to. They head the opposite direction looking over the deck with a plate of oysters between them. They talk more about where Kai grew up and the thing his foster brother got into. Time flew by and their server stopped by to let them know they were going to be closing. Kai paid the bill as she realized it was dark and she never navigated a boat back to the campground this late. She lets him know, she’s not comfortable going back in the dark, she suggest they stay on the boat for the night. He tells her sometimes problems arise. He pulls her close to him and puts his lips to hers, then they head back to the boat. He leads the way down to the dock, she climbs onto the boat and they head down to the cabin. She gets things set up with blankets and pillows. They begin to kiss again, her fingers smoothing his chest, and down his abs. He rolls her onto her back and whips his shirt over his head, she tells him it’s been a while for her. He tells her it’s okay he has her, he eased her shirt over her head, he leaned down and kissed the space between her breast. He pulls his pants down, then he tugs her legging down, he dipped his head lower and sank his tongue inside her. She tells him she can’t take it, he tells her she can and will. He sank into her and tells her she feels good. After he pulls her on top of him and wrapped his arms around her. He tells her she’s incredible, and she tells him she not. He tells her when he looks at her he sees a woman who is strong and running from something, she doesn’t think she’s powerful enough to face it. She tells him she’s not. He asks her what happened to her he tells her he can help. Tears start to roll down her cheeks she tells him she couldn’t stay in Florida, after what happened to her parents. It was her fault she should have been with them. He asks her what happened, so she tell him, he tells her she has to stop blaming herself, she tells him she should have been there. She tells him her uncle’s running the dive shop but he wants out, she has to decide what to do with it. He tells her he believes in fate, it brought them together and now that he found her he can’t let her go. He tells her he’ll take her back to Florida she can think about it. When he wakes up he can’t believe the beautiful person next to him so he grabs his camera a takes her picture, she asks him what he’s doing. He tells her he’s capturing perfection. She tells him he’s joking she sure she has makeup smeared down her face. He tells her she look gorgeous and to take a look. They grab some coffee before they head back to the restaurant. She needs to check with the boat owner to see if he has another boat they can borrow. He calls his contact to cancel his plans for next week, but they want him to head to Seattle, they need someone there asap for a underwater adventurer shoot. This could be his big break he could pick and choose his assignments. He tells them yes he’ll head that way, they are sending him a seaplane to pick him up. When Kai and Mariella meet back up later in the day she sees he’s not ready for an afternoon of diving. She thinks he’s to tired to dive, he tells her he got a call about a last minute job, he needs to go. He tells her he’s sorry he’ll come back next week. He asks her for her number, she stares at this phone. Not wanting to set herself up for grief she tells him last night was great and thanks him for the dinner. She hold her hand out to him for a handshake, she tells him good luck with his job. She tells him if he comes back to asks the guys down at the Backwater Dive Shop for a guide. He asks her if that’s it, she tells him yes it’s how it needs to be. She tells him goodbye and turns to leave before the tears start to flow. Kai feels like crap for leaving Mariella, he finds his seaplane. He tells the pilot to hold on, he tells him he needs his gear back he’s not going to Seattle, he’s got a dive to complete. The pilot tell him he wish someone would have told him before he spent three house coming to pick him up, someone is paying him for his trouble. Kai hand him a wad of cash. He doesn’t catch the ferry and looks around for someone headed to Saltery Bay but everyone just came that way. He finally finds a boat named the Emerald Princess a woman standing by the wheel. She asks him if she can help him, he tells her he needs to get to Kasperson’s Campground. She tells him she taking a group to the rapids, they’re inside picking up some things. The family comes back out and Kai asks them if he can convince them to head back to Emerald Prince to drop him off before their next stop. The husband says they’ve been there, but the wife asks him if it’s love, he tells her yes. She asks him where does he need to go. Mariella’s at the Emerald Princess preparing to dive, someone radios asking her to wait she’s got a visitor. Kai steps onto her boat he tells her he chooses her. She asks him what does he mean he’s suppose to be on his way to Seattle. He tells her he couldn’t do it he made a promise and he’s here to see it through. She tells him people break promises all the time. He tells her he’s not going to he wants to be her guy, he wants to promise her whatever time she gives him he’s all hers. She tell him he left her, and he tells her it’s the first and last time he’ll ever do that. He tells her he loves her, he’s never been sure about anything but he is about his feeling for her. She tells him she loves him too then wraps him in her arms. He asks her if she ready to get back into diving, then they both go for a dive to the Emerald Princess. Two years later, they've travel around the world capturing photos and video of places few had the privilege to see. She hired a manger to run her shop. Mama Mae wished he’s move back to Broken Bend but she’s glad to have another excuse to travel. He made arrangements to go back to Saltery Bay, Mariella has become more brighter, warmer, more open since they’ve been together. He tells her lets do this, then they start their descent. He kicks his legs to get closer to the mermaid he finds the laminated sign he placed there earlier in the day. He hold up the first sign up saying it’s appropriate he do this here. The next sign says he loves her, the Emerald Princess brought them together. The last sign says will you marry me. Mariella bobs her head up and down. She grabs his arm and points up, she ask him to asks her again. She tells him she doesn’t want to read his question she wants to hear it. He says to her Mariella heart of my heart, love of his life will she marry him. She grabs him and says yes. He tells her he has a ring, but they get back not he boat he unclasped the chain and slide the ring on her finger. It didn’t matter where they were, as long as they are together, they’d always be home.

Eve London has mastered a way of writing a short, concise instalove story, without any difficulty. All her books have great strong males, and strong independent women. There is always romantic love, and always a referral to the men being one of Mama Mae’s boys, a strong woman who has raised strong adopted sons.
Kai is a deep sea diver, and he makes his living by taking undersea photos of important sites. He is busy, but lives a lonely life. He comes to Saltery Bay, and meets Mariella at a restaurant.
Mariella is a single hard working female, who is living with guilt, and a lonely life. She lives surrounded by sadness, after the loss of her parents. She has always done deep sea diving, but has been too scared, since the death of her parents. She accepts a job as driving the boat for Kai. They begin a relationship, while on this boat.
Situations occur, that cause Kai and Mariella to split, but Kai realizes his mistake in time. He goes to find her, and apologizes, and the couple obtain their HEA.
The story ends in a beautiful romantic proposal. I highly
recommend this book.

A short and sweet instalove read. Love we get to read yet another story about one of Mama Mae’s foster boys.
Mariella used to love being in the ocean. All her life, it's what she knew. Until a horrible incident kept her away from what she loved doing the most, diving. Yet, she can’t be away from the water. So working at a beachside campground is perfect for her. Especially with the looming decision she has to make hanging over her head.
So when a cute cocky underwater photographer named Kai shows up and is in need of a local guide for diving sites. Mariella can’t say no especially when he’s offering more money than she would make at the campground. She needs the cash but now she finds herself in a situation she’s been trying to avoid. Diving and men.
Kai needs the guide but he also wants to know more about Mariella, more so why her eyes hold so much sadness. A great night talking and laughing over dinner leads to a night of passion.
What happens when Mariella opens up to Kai about what caused her fear of the ocean? Has to find someone who will be there for her or will he leave like everyone else?
What will Kai do when he is offered an opportunity of a lifetime..a career changing chance? Can he leave Mariella? Will he make a decision that could hurt their new founded happiness?
The characters were so likable and the connection and chemistry the two shared was so sweet. Individuals who find peace in the big open ocean after all the hardship and trauma they had gone through in their past. The healing was moving. I love it. Just a sweet read.

This book is about Mariella and Kai. Mariella works at a beachside campground, and hadn’t been in the water to dive for two years because of the tragic loss of her parents in a diving accident. Kai is an underwater photographer. His guide has pulled out of a job for him so her asks her to do it instead. The money will be good, and she gets to spend some time getting to know the ‘lumberhottie’, so agrees.
They grow close on their boat trip and quickly discover feelings for each other. But when he lands a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity, it means he has to leave her earlier than expected. He’s torn and she’s quietly heart-broken. Will he realise his mistake and go back to her, essentially where he could belong?
It’s an emotional, adventurous, sweet and steamy story. Mama Mae sure knows how to bring her boys up proper. He was so caring and attentive (apart form that work decision), and made her feel so important and worthy. And when he says, “I’ve got you” to her… swoon! Gets me every time! Mariella really was Kai’s own star of the sea. I also loved Kai’s line where he said, “Sometimes problems are just opportunities in disguise”. I’m going to use that from now on too! I give this book four and a quarter stars.

Cute little instalove romance
I enjoyed how easily this story played out. There was very little angst and acceptance came easy for both characters. Things between them were truly mean to be. Mariella is a Florida girl living in a tranquil beach side campground off the western coast, working as a diner waitress. Kai is one of Mama Mae's boys who's been traveling the world as an underwater photo journalist. I also enjoyed the fact that although Mariella came from a loving family she too knew what it mean to Kai to be part of a loving foster family. I can't help but hope that one day there is a family gathering where we are able to see all of Mama Mae's boys together with their spouses and kids, and I especially hope it isn't for a funeral.

After spending time seeing some sites they had to spend the night as it was to dark to travel back since the boat wasn't equipped to be on the water at night. That's all it took for both of them to show their feelings toward one another.
Once back in town Kai got the call he has always wanted. After letting Mariella know he was leaving, she was devastated. She knew he'd leave her, everyone always leaves her. Kai left but when he was boarding the chopper to take him to the job he realized jobs will come and go but finding the right person you love doesn't come around all the time. He went back to get his love. Mariella was running from her past and when Kai came back, they both worked together to get past their dark past. Mariella had Gina back to Florida to continue running her parents dive shop and Kai continued to support her along the way.

Kia is another of Mamma Mae's boys and he is an underwater photographer. Kia is in British Columbia to take pictures of an underwater mermaid statue called the Emerald Princess. Mariella works in a restaurant and Kia tells her he needs a guide to show him the best dive sights for him to photograph. Mariella is afraid to dive now due to an accident but needs money so she takes Kai's offer to be his guide. As they get to know each other sparks fly and both want more. But when an Adventure Magazine asks Kai to go and take underwater pictures at a different site will he be able to give Mariella up so he can get his dream job? This is a well written love story with lots of steam and two people who aren't sure what they are looking for until it's almost gone. Loved it. I received an advance copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a very big step for her, she has not been diving for two years, due to a traumatic accident and normally avoids situations like this. But she does not only want to save up the money, but there is an immediate connection between Kai and her. He is one of Mamma Mae's foster boys. When there are out on the ocean the spark ignites. But then Kai is offered a dream job opportunity, will he chose his own star of the sea?
Kai and Mariella are well written characters. They share a special connection and have heart melting moments with each other.

Kai is an underwater photographer, and he meets Marierella when he is in town to take some pictures. Marierella tells him laces that he might want to check out and after hearing what he offering to pay she tells him she'll take him to the places she talked about. Sparks fly between them as they spend the day together. They lose track of time when they are having dinner and Marierella suggests they stay on the boat til the next morning. Things heat up between them and they share an amazing night together. Can they find a way to be together?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book for any book lover to enjoy.

Kai was an underwater photographer, he met waitress, Mariella, during an assignment and asked her for her help as his guide had cancelled. He was totally in love with her from the second he saw her. Mariella was nervous to be on the water as she hadn’t dived for 2 years after a tragic accident but she felt drawn to Kai. Sweet, steamy, instalove romance. Kai and Mariella had amazing chemistry. Kai was everything Mariella needed. There was a misunderstanding that left her devastated but Kai, realising his error was quick to show her she was his forever and he wasn’t letting her go! Lovely story with one of Mama Mae’s boys. The HEA was beautiful.

He gets a call early in the morning, all their plans are blown out of the water, so he can catch a plane.
What would Mama Mae think of her boy, leaving the girl high and dry? Loved this story, but then again, all of Mama Mae's boys are awesome.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. If you have read any of Eve's book, I'm sure you have come across some of Mama Mae's boys. This short love story is about Kai. He meets Mariella when he comes to the coast to do an underwater photo assignment. He needs her to take him to the site but she isn't fond of the water after a tragic loss. His price and the attraction Mariella feels goes a long way in changing her mind. These two are perfect for each other, but Kai almost lets love slip thru his fingers. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. It is short, sweet and steamy.

This is only the second book I’ve read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading many more. This story is centered around Mariella and Kai. They meet when he comes to Kasperson’s to eat and she’s his server. As they’re talking, he asks if she dives because his guide canceled and he needs one. He’s an underwater photographer. Mariella used to love to dive, but that was before the fatal accident happened. When she learns how much Kai will pay, she has second thoughts. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens and if Mariella will dive again.

Mariella and Kai meet when his local guide canceled on him and he convinces Mariella to take his place. One problem she doesn't do water anymore because of a tragic accident. This is a short and sweet love story about two people finding each other and love by accident. The writing is well done, the characters are likable and well developed, and the ending is perfect. One Night With A Diver is a great start to the multi-author Love on the Sunshine Coast series. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Kai and Mariella are a sweet couple with lots of chemistry. Mariella is suffering from the trauma of losing her parents and not being able to get back in the water. Kai can see that Mariella has suffered a loss and wants to help her regain her confidence in herself. A heartfelt story with strong independent characters. Mariella is stronger then she sees herself and brings out the best in Kai. Kai is caring and wants to show his sea star she can do anything. A great part of this series. Finding love doing what you love most is a delight. Kai is an underwater photographer and Mariella learned to scuba dive even before she learned to read. But a tragedy took her away from the sea. Until Kai shows up and gives her back not only the pleasure of diving but also the pleasure of loving and being loved. A super sweet story.

A lot of loss, grief and guilt is hard to overcome but life must move on. Enjoyed this storyline dealing with this and including one of Mama Mae’s boys. Good connection with a wonderful setting in the Sunshine Coast. Loved how both pushed past their comfort levels and each took a leap of trust and love to get where they needed to be.

Kai and Mariella's story was so sweet. He's on assignment as an underwater photographer. She works at the campground he's staying at. She ran away from her painful past. They definitely bring new life into each other. They are want the other needed. I'm glad things went as they did when Kai had to make a decision. Loved the epilogue.

Kai was in need a local guide for his photography work and Mariela was a local with the knowledge. She had a problem with the water and kai wanted to find out about her.
This was a great story, hot and steamy, romantic with a little action. It was somewhat emotional in the set up of Mariela's background.
I really enjoyed the story, found the characters heart felt, and the issues relevant. Great book!

Mariella has lost a lot in her life and doesn’t get involved with anyone! Only when gorgeous diver Kai shows up looking for someone to take him on a tour of the local dive spots she agrees! Kai finds himself falling for beautiful Mariella and realizes that he is in love with her! Can they find their happily ever after? Great book that I would highly recommend!.

A delightful romance. Kai and Mariella are both great characters. I liked the kindness that they showed to each other. While this is an instant attraction book, it's not really a insta-love. They get to know each other and I liked that they did that before falling into bed. A sweet story.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Mariella and Kai and does not let go. Mariella is running from her past but when Kai enters her life, she begins to feel as if she can move forward. However, Kai makes a decision that may tear them apart.
