Wanting to understand why someone I know can’t stop drinking, I picked up this book. It’s a highly informative, comprehensive, easy to read look at alcoholism. Provides the building blocks for a successful recovery. “What cements them together is the commitment to an emotionally, intellectually and spiritually fulfilling life.”
Seemingly wordy and somewhat unorganized. Devoid of concrete, clearly defined answers to some of my questions. Still, I did get a few insights that I didn't already know.
Very good - lots of stuff I wouldn't have thought of. Read it as i am addicted to FOOD and wanted insight into cravings - was very interesting in this bent also. will pass it along to a family member with drug problems in the past - think it's valid for any substance....
