What a book that changes a person's way of living. I am very with the author for such a credible job.
However, there are two doctrines that are not in the light of the Bible.
Firstly, the idea about resurrection. I several times encountered in the reading that people go to heaven or hell instantly after death. I personally do not agree with this. Biblically, it is said those who are dying are resting.
Secondly, speaking in tongues. How do one speak a foreign language that is not understood by the audiences. They speak in tongues that are incomprehensible.
A great book for those new to Christianity or interested in the positives of believing in Jesus. It is a entry point to further read the bible and other books exploring bible verses. I am not new to Christianity so it was familiar information. I love the work of Joyce Meyer and respect the way she interprets the bible into practical everyday language to be applied to life. I look forward to reading more of Joyce Meyer's books.
I love this book. It was very helpful and easy to understand. I wasn't quite sure where to look, what to look for or how to do things myself but this book helps you to look at things a different way. It helps you to keep moving forward and not to give up even if you don't see things falling into place right away.
I frequently listen to Joyce Meyer and own several of her books. I do enjoy her teaching however I feel as though this book should have been written differently. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great little booklet and I feel that it would make a good guide or starting point. But as someone who has struggled for years with assurance of salvation I think Joyce should have clarified that the sinners prayer is nothing more than an invitation. I am afraid the way she has written it may lead many to think that because they have simply repeated this prayer they are saved. And that is just simply not the case. We are saved through fully placing our trust in the finished work of Christ not by simply vocalizing for him to enter our heart. Also I think she should have noted that salvation is more than just grabbing at a “gift.” Christ must become LORD of our life and we must endure in our faith. I worry that this book may lead some to repeat a sinners prayer and then continue to go about life their own way. I would definitely have loved to see more biblical teaching on what salvation is and is not.
Great book. Short but to the point. Doesn’t muddy the waters but gets you up and motivated to continue to change. Recommend this book for new Christians and those who might be struggling. Touches on thinking, talking and looking at yourself. Pick it up. Just 50 pages.
I am new in my walk with the lord. I read this book it's a 54 page book. So, it's a simple and quick read. Definitely recommend if you're on a new path with the Lord.
Really good, great to have the scriptures to look at and study. I feel like a beginner again lol but the Holy Spirit will help along the way. Great for understanding what it means to be Born Again, especially if you have only dedicated or re-dedicated your Life to Lord and are trying to get your hands on as much material as possible as I was.
Within 2 hours you could finish the book. A New Way of Living by Joyce Meyer allows you to quickly get an idea of what to expect and what is needed to start living a life with God. From there it is up to the person to follow God and decide where do they want to start.
Joyce Meyers has a way with words. this short blurb will get you back on track. whenever I start to waiver I read this. hearing powerful prayers that are meant for you. all you have to do is accept Christ. great motivational kick.
"Life is full of decisions. But there's one decision that’s more important than all the others. Whether you choose to accept Jesus Christ as Lord or not is the choice that everything else in your life depends on—including where you will spend eternity."
