Close friends since childhood, Kyle, Duncan and Ivan have become rich, successful co-owners of a beautiful Harlem brownstone. The one thing each of them lacks is a special woman to share his life with--until true love steps in to transform three sexy single guys into grooms-to-be....
Once bitten, twice shy--it's a lesson that Tamara Wolcott took to heart after her first marriage. But the handsome, witty financial whiz she ends up trapped in an elevator with could make her change her mind.

These stories still have a wonderful feeling about them, even after more than ten years. Duncan and Tamara's relationship started in a unique way, and by the time they reached - the end, it was obviously a match for the ages formed with this couple. Now on to part three...
Another romantic book from an amazing author that I really enjoy reading. Imagine meeting your next relationship in a stalled elevator I have enjoyed the first two books in the series and anticipating the next book.
Rochelle Alers brings the second installment of the Best Man miniseries. She brings the thing that every woman tends to pray about and that is a good man except Rochelle gives this man flaws that he accepts and works towards making it better.
Duncan Gilmore affectionately known to his friends as D.G. is the trios financial advisor who has had his share of losses that have affected his life tremendously that leads him to simply distance himself from females who get to close. When he meets Dr. Wolcott in an elevator after they are stuck on it due to a malfunction he finds himself intrigued with the enigma of a woman before him. DG past keeps resurfacing and when a piece of his past causes her to walk away he finds himself pushing past the pain to gain what he finds to be his reason.
Dr. Tamara Wolcott was the passionate emergency room doctor who loved her job and the rush that went with it. After a fail marriage and a hard childhood, she finally finds herself. However with it came some restrictions she set for herself so when she meets Duncan she finds herself throwing up everything she knows to make him back off but when Duncan pushes forwards she takes a chance to see what would become of the situation.
Tamara & Duncan both have past situations that make them complex people but make them a dynamic couple but when issues arise it cause a break that almost becomes a repeat of their past just in different reflection. Once again, Rochelle has given us a glimpse of a good man with the air about himself but he has earned it. I cannot wait to meet Ivan Campbell on a more personal level as Rochelle close out the trio.
Now this is more like it!! I really loved Duncan and Tamara's story. I could actually feel the chemistry between the two of them. It was nice revisiting characters from previous books and I am really looking forward to the last book Man of Fantasy. Unlike Man of Fate, I could actually feel the chemistry between Tamara and Duncan grow from like, lust then love. Now what would really be nice is to have a story about Rodney and Maribel. Plus it would be interesting to find out if Tiffany's life was really as perfect, as she pretended. I seriously doubt it since she was such a witch to Tamara. I would also like to know if Renata really divorced her husband. It would be interesting to find out if he cheated because she was so shallow. These books leave a lot of room for spin off stories about the supporting characters. I think Jordan and Natasha's story would be really interesting too. Although I wasn't crazy about Man of Fate, this book more than made up for it.
Duncan has lost 2 important women in his life. First his mom when he was 14 and he went to live with his Aunt who molded and perfected what his mother had tried so hard to do. Second his fiancess who was killed in the collapse of the buildings on 9/11. He promised he wouldn't fall in love nor get married again. Entering into an elevator in a high rise apartment, he is leaving a client's home, he sees Tamara Wolcott. She is struggling to right her clothes of course he thinks many things. Elevator gets stuck the get to know each other. After dating the friendship becames stronger and lasting.
I am going to sum up this trilogy.....MAN OF FATE WAS THE BEST OPENING...BUT AFTER THAT THERE IS REALLY NO NEED TO CONTINUE TO MAN OF FANTASY OR FORTUNE.....TOTALLY A WASTE OF TWENTY DOLLARS...THAT'S IF YOU PURCHASED THE OTHER TWO...BUT I'LL APOLOGIZE FOR THA AUTHOR IF YOU GOT ALL THREE
Extremely good...finished reading in one day...couldn't wait to get to the ending...Ready to read another book in this 3 part Series...Love Alers writing...so good...very tasteful yet full of romance...
I have to say it tookme sooo long to read this book. It turned out good. Really just a basic love storey. I do like the fact that the guy was into big girls and made her feel beautiful all the time.
