A good supplement to, but not a replacement for, Schilling's Strategic Management of Technological Innovation.

Reading this for school. Overall it was a good introduction to technology and how it evolves over time. I was disappointed in the amount of marketing theory in the book though. Weed some of that out and focus on technology.
